It's not going to easy for the the defending champion because Vargas is a great boxer as well, and seeing how Magsayo won his previous fight, I'm not impressed at all so I'm not so confident that he will win against Vargas.

This is already an interesting fight and I'm also expecting a good close bout between these two. Mark Magsayo is the defending champion while Rey Vargas is the challenger, both of them are good that's why this not one of those mismatch bout. They just have to refrain and avoid being a predictable boxer as that could lead to a defeat, anyhow, I'm with Magsayo and I believe that he can defeat a much taller, wider reach and more experienced Vargas.

Magsayo is a defending champion here he must relax, focus and have a good timing if he is in the ring fighting against the veteran challenger Rey Vargas. As a defending champion Magsayo must have a good plan and style of this fight he must trained hard and all of the best study the boxing style and the movement of feet of his opponents.
But in this fight magsayo will be the favorite because he has a strong and a good boxer with in the all time.

However, he shouldn't take Vargas lightly because the man is also a decent fighter and have a much good experience than him but when it comes to KO capabilities, no doubt Magsayo have that advantage. He should relax, yes but not to rest himself, but in-order to focus more and ensure his victory while training hard. He must believe himself that he can do this because this fight will determine his future in the boxing industry, also, he have coach Freddie Roach to guide him along the way to success.

Magsayo will be the favorite to win as he is the champion and he's the title holder but the chances of Vargas to win is also somehow big as he have the experience, height and reach advantages but I can say that this fight will be a close bout even if the challenger also have a clean record. Eventually, he will become a stepping stone towards the Filipino boxer's dreams.

Only a clean Knockout will impress his critics, sadly. Let's say Magsayo will win this fight against Vargas in a Technical Knock Out but the process is hard and Magsayo struggles, people will still not satisfy with how Magsayo wins. Instead of being happy, they will point out that it should not be the way Magsayo wins.

In Magsayo's last fight when he snatches the title against Gary Russell Jr., people are not satisfied with his win because the latter is injured. They think it will be an easy win for Magsayo but it should be not as Russell will do everything not to give up the title. Instead of giving both boxers good recognition, they end up being looked down.

Rey Vargas is a good fighter and others think that he will be the favorite. So imagine if an underdog Magsayo won by a spectacular one punch knock out. Fight fans for sure will remember his name and would gain stature as the premier fighter in this division.

When we expect a knockout, then most likely Magsayo will win because that's his specialty as a boxer. However, if the fight will go to distant, there's a possibility that Magsayo will lose because of his boxing style which is not so accurate, he would easily get tired in the end.

I would also like to see a knockout by Magsayo, I think that is the main thing that he will look for, what happens is that if he does not achieve it, I think that his physique will not allow him to withstand so many rounds, and Vargas knows this, in this Now Vargas must have his strategy well established to see how he can deal with Magsayo, it is known that any of them can give a surprise and that in this case Magsayo will also have to work on his resistance because in the worst case if he does not come out with their strategy must be totally adapted to what the fight requires, nothing is written yet, but I think that both boxers must already have their strategy clear.

Well, it's hard to just expect a KO, Magsayo has to work harder in order to give that to us. His last KO did not come from a dominant performance because he was losing the fight, and luckily he was able to hit his opponent with a solid punch and knock him out. We have many doubters about him, so he should take that as a chance to inspire himself to get better and better until doubters will realize that Magsayo is a legitimate champion not only on record.

You're saying that Vargas with 35-0 doesn't have the same or even stronger champion mentality?
Vargas is more experienced, has height advantage and better reach. I think that it's too early to bet on this fight, but once people start coming in you'll see that they are going to be pretty even or betting on Vargas simply by seeing his stats.
