I hope Joshua gets this done with a knockout in the 1st round to prevent us fans panicking about a upset and then we never get to watch the Fury vs Joshua fight which I think is the most exciting fight for the last decade. I hope Fury does not not too there is too much anxiety waiting for both of the fights and I will be very nervous today when watching. It will be a huge loss to the boxing community if one of them loses and we never get the fight we have been waiting for years.
While I would like to see Joshua win the fight at the same time I would like to see a good fight, a KO on the first round while exciting is not my definition of a good fight, after all if Usyk made the move to the heavyweight division is because he is convinced he can compete with them.

Now I understand the power of a heavyweight is in a class on its own but if he can endure those first rounds and adapt to that punching power then we could see a good fight, but anyway speculation is now unnecessary as the fight is just a few hours away.
Usyk has already felt the power of heavy weights because he fought Chisora who is one of the heavyweights which leaves everything in the ring and looks to knock you out from minute 1. Usyk will know how to stay safe but Joshua is different because he can box and he has that knockout power which could put Usyk out. I think a 1st round KO has a good chance of happening but I would like to see this go the distance to see how Joshua copes with a boxer that punches with high volume.

[..snip..]

Funny photo! I mean, not the costume, but the expressions on Usyk's face, he looks scared and as if thinking "oh damn he is next to me"  Grin In fact, it is clear that this is just a bad shot, by the way, Joshua's expression is also not very optimistic.
At the weigh-in, Joshua turned out to be 8 kg heavier than Usyk, I wonder if this will give him an advantage in the power of blows or Usyk an advantage in speed?

I think it's more on Joshua's advantage, if he came heavy, usually though that is his fighting weight so he is the optimal place. For Usyk, he used to be a cruiserweight so he needs to come up and yet Joshua is much heavier. I think Joshua still has the advantage as far as speed goes, he is too fast for a heavyweight (maybe Fury though is the fastest amongst heavyweight) and he is the heavier puncher as well. So hopefully when Joshua gets things done here, we will have Joshua vs Fury next.

Joshua: 24
Usyk: 11
Draw: 2

We are up to 37 votes in the poll and Joshua has moved up to 24 while Usyk is still on 11. The fight is taking place this evening but the interest is still not that big as far as the media is concerned. Where in the world is the hype and excitement because it certainly is not in the UK media.

Rooting on AJ to win this fight, although i have to be sincere it's not going to be so easy for him because Usyk is a very good fighter as well and has gained more pounds recently.

A concern for me is AJ's recent comment making rounds on social media about blacks patronising only black owned businesses. The comment has been deemed racist by many whites and he has lost their love per say. I hope the chants and cheers from the spectators tonight in the stadium does not reflect anger and hate towards him, so his morale will not be affected in the fight.

That is true, this fight is in the shadows of Fury vs Wilder III but Joshua does not seem to getting the media exposure in the UK that he deserves. Usyk is fast, he has fast hands he is quick and when he gets going I think Joshua will semi-panic and recall how Ruiz defeated him in the first fight with those fast hands.

At some stage Joshua should start to take control of the fight and dominate with his jab wearing Usyk down but he was the former undisputed world cruiserweight champion so Joshua will not take any chances. It will be an interesting fight to watch with Usyk probably trying to get a KO or TKO knowing he might last beyond 4 rounds...  and Joshua probably happy to go the distance slowing wearing him down and winning on a points decision or by catching him cold after a few rounds and having his on KO or TKO.

The fight is taking place tomorrow yet there is such little hype about it in the media in the UK. Something is not right about that.

After a lot of doom and gloom of the past couple of years, many boxing fans are looking forward to the Joshua vs Usyk fight and also the Fury vs Wilder III fight but the lack of hype and publicity surround the fight tomorrow was not expected. Maybe if Joshua was fighting a bigger than Usyk name then there would be hype and noise in the media but the lack of presence in the media in general has let boxing fans down.

It's in the shadow of Fury Wilder III for sure. I'll eagerly be watching both but I'm more excited about the trilogy fight. It's gonna be a bit messy if either of Fury or AJ loses though.

^ Lol, his trying to beat Fury as the boxing's well dressed during a press conference, face-off. In any case, I don't think it will work on Joshua, he will well experience to be affected by this kind of psychological war in his fight.

So let's see how the fight goes, I'm seeing Joshua winning by TKO in 10 rounds or less. I'm not expecting the fight to go full distance.

I'm also confident in my prediction that Joshua will win this match he is so motivated to win this match for Fury, I read in one article that badly needs to fight Fury for his legacy and it can only happen if he beats Usyk, by knock out so he can leave a deep impression on Fury who is going against Wilder. May the best fighter wins.

If Usyk is able to beat Joshua this is probably going to be a great surprise for many, it is not going to be as bad as what it happened with Andy Ruiz but still it could be a huge upset, especially if we take into account that this is going to be the first fight of Usyk in the division and if he can beat Joshua then at least in my mind that is going to make him one of the best fighters on all the divisions around the world, I really think that he's taking on Joshua too soon but he's confident that he can take him down, and we are about to find out if he was right about it.

Usyk wants to make a good impression heading to the fight
Quote
Usyk arrived dressed in an outfit equal to the one used by the actor Joaquin phoenix to bring the villain of Batman, on the tape the Joker which premiered in 2019
he is employing psychological tactics here and action is better than words, Usyk is very good at this he has a lot of humor and because of this has gained a lot of followers, I also like him for his humility and humor but unfortunately, I like Joshua to win the fight so he can fight Fury for the unification and the title of the greatest British boxing champion.

Joshua had originally planned to fight Fury for a unification fight that would have put the entire belt at stake, but that had to be postponed as Fury still had a rematch with Deontay Wilder. and it looks like Joshua is very physically and mentally ready to fight Oleksandr Usky tomorrow morning in my country time.
and Yes, Usky's humility and lots of humor have hypnotized many people who made his followers grow, which Usky unexpectedly has a very scary face but has a good soul and is also humorous. Grin
and I also predict Anthony Joshua will win against Usky tomorrow.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
I'd bet on Joshua. It not going to be an easy win because Usyk has his way of drawing strength as the fight persist. I know Usyk is one of the best, if he manages to beat Joshua even if he doesn't go on to beat Fury, I'll duff my hat to him.

I'm counting on Joshua to beat Usyk because I really wanted to see him fight with Fury for a unification title and that would be no doubt a fight of the year in the heavyweight division. If Usyk finds some way to gain victory with this upcoming fight, then that would be a great prestige for him for beating one of the best heavyweights in the world but I doubt it would be an easy task for him.

Someone can logically explain why Usyk's managers on the day of the battle are diverted to such trifles as "launching the NFT collection in conjunction with Binance"? Isn't the hype enough for them? And in general, I confess I am against that such a hardcore fighter like Usyk, poke his nose into not his sphere, since it will not lead to anything good. And if someone really wants to train with Usik, then why the hell do you have to pay $ 100,000 if the address of the gym in which he trains is known to everyone ... I was a little upset by this news. Undecided

Money. There's no better time for them to promote something when they've got the boxing world's eyeballs on them. There seems to be a shit tonne of money in NFTs right now as well so it's a lot of money for doing nothing than mentioning it whenever they can.

Maybe because boxing fans are really looking for the Joshua vs Wilder clash?

These are more likely not boxing fans, but fans of hype scandals, etc. It's hard to expect trashtalk, dirt, or inadequate conspiracy theories (as in the case of Wilder) from these adequate boxers, so despite the fact that this will be a great fight between two great boxers, the public is cool with him. The public is more likely to expect some antics from Connor than to be interested in real boxing. Real boxing fans are looking forward to this fight.
By the way, I must say that I am glad that the place of the battle is in Europe and I can watch the battle at an appropriate time for myself  Smiley

I would say that Usyk is good, might have a fighting chance against Joshua. But I believed that he is not on the same level with Anthony. He is a cruiserweight for me, and facing a top tier heavyweight, it will be very difficult for him. And probably Usyk doesn't have that much fan based outside that's why there's not much hype, hopefully, Joshua win and then wait for the winner of Fury vs Wilder. Now that's what fighting fans are waiting for.

Everything is right about the fight it is only that Anthony Joshua is the bigger name in the fight and the little publicity the fight has got is because of Joshua and not Usyk. If not so the whole thing would have been without media coverage at all. Alot of people may not know that the fight is less than 24hours from now and will only get to know after the fight is done. I want AJ to come top.

The usual information noise that is created by managers, they have such a job, and Usyk himself may not have heard anything about it. The promotion goes in all areas where possible and it is reasonable - the younger generation is more interested in UFC than boxing, so the fact that boxers advertise themselves everywhere is a rational move.
