That's what I'm thinking too. He might treat the trilogy as his last fight and then finally hang his gloves.

However, if he will win that match, there will be encouragement on his own that he can still fight. The fact that let's say he beat Canelo, will give him more inspiration that he can still beat prime boxers who will come for him.

If the trilogy will stake both boxers' respective titles and GGG won, he will be again a multi-title holder and the next move is, to defend it or to just leave it and hang his gloves for good.

It can't be a done deal yet since Canelo Alvarez has to win first in his fight against Dmitry Bivol next month.

One thing is for sure, they are both verbally committed to accepting the fight on September 17. GGG has already done with his task which is winning his previous fight against Ryota Murata and it's now Canelo's turn to do the same.

If Canelo won, that's the only time we can see if they will finalize the deal with their trilogy.

I just knew that Canelo and his team wasn't finalized their decision but to be honest I am also rooting for this trilogy because I do believe that it was one of the worth fight to watch for. Though, we are concern about the age gap of GGG to Canelo I can still say this man has still some strength and speed that can be a good match to Canelos's prime strength. This undefeated Canelo still perform the best game of his life and I believe even this trilogy happen this man will not going to give in his belt and his reputation.

I'm both fan of Canelo and GGG because their talent is truly exemptional, it's seems like that they are really born to do boxing and be known around the world. However, we cannot deny that GGG's days are already counting before he retires because he is now 40 years old so my best guess is that win or lose fighting against Canelo is his last fight before he hangs hiss gloves. At least his most awaited trilogy have happened before he retires.

Canelo doesn't have to win against Bivol just to have a 3rd fight with GGG but since Canelo won't take another chance to stain his record then I guess this is an another win in his favor and maybe we can see him to knockout Bivol. I also do agree that he also needs to defeat the latter so that there's no excuses to delay the trilogy again. The fans are already expecting so this time they better make it happen.

If Canelo losses the GGG fight will be delayed because the boxing community and of course Canelo's camp will be asked for a rematch of course it depends on the kind of loss Canelo will suffer, but a decision or knock out a win by Bivol will possibly delay the trilogy, as Bivol will welcome a rematch I don't know if there's a rematch clause but it's still up to Canelo's camp if they will ask for a rematch.

Reading about this fight triggers my sad vibes. I lost quite a huge bet to a friend in this fight. Although it isn't really a loss since we used the bet to fund a trip to a nearby beach with a few more friends, the bragging rights is what really ticks me off. And almost every time, my damn friend never fails to remind me of his superior prediction skills and brag about it. Saying we should do this often since summer is about to come. Bloody bastard, lol.

His camp concedes at the 9th round and accepts that GGG is too much for their Murata.

That's how powerful GGG is even at 40 years old. I just don't know if he can show the same strength once he face a much younger Canelo in September.

Honestly, it's hard to judge now, so many things happened, Canelo is on another level, GGG although can still stand against a dangerous and young fighter age is now showing on GGG, I don't want to judge GGG I always believe style makes a fight and things will be different when they face each other, GGG has proven that he can take big punches, Canelo has not been exposed to hard punches because of his defense things could be very different in their third fight, I don't want to give it right away to GGG or even Canelo.

Yes mate, that really makes sense because even if we know that Canelo is still in his prime, GGG also have the style to make Canelo struggle because of his intelligence but don't take it wrong because I don't mean that Canelo is not intelligent. What I mean is that these two boxers have their own different styles that can make each other struggle as they clash. Either way, they wouldn't have a trilogy if it's clear that GGG or Canelo will be defeated and it's still undecided yet until the referee will make the announcement.

He won, but do you think he can win against a prime Canelo? I doubt it, his win against Murata is not the impressive to me, he was slow, maybe Murata has a good chin, but he didn't knock him out in the early round.

But we will see how he can stand up against Canelo. He will have to win against Bivol first. As I have said, Canelo is still in his prime years and it is going to be difficult to beat him.

and they have something to settle before ggg retires. but we need to see canelo win over bivol as you said. but if not, will the trilogy be happening? i don't exactly know the prerequisites of this upcoming trilogy. but canelo i believe is a better fighter than murata. so we would be seeing another good fight between canelo and ggg, if the situation permits.

That was the ETA but there are pre-requisites for that fight to happen.

GGG has to beat Murata, which now happened therefore 1 requirement is done.
Canelo Alvarez has to beat Dmitry Bivol, and the fight will take place next month.

If Canelo will win, it will unlock officially the trilogy between him and Canelo. Although, I don't hear any news yet for Plan B of GGG if Canelo will lose his upcoming match. Unlike Canelo, who already has a plan if GGG loses to Murata.
