This has got to be to most lifeless fixed fight I have seen. He knows Campa is no match against him but he wants to make it look like Campa is pressuring him in the corner. Teo makes it look like he had fought someone from a top class when in reality Campa is a 4th class fighter. Did any of you ever bet?

Let's see who will be his next opponent, I'm not going to be surprised if he has given the pass to go to the champion. Or maybe that is too much, another tune up fight won't hurt him.

Campa's lack of movement was explored by Lopez it looks easy when his opponent is not moving a lot, he dominated the whole fight he is not making any unnecessary move he just wait for the right time and impose his power and speed, I think he can dominate the Junior Welterweight with this kind of performance, he is more comfortable in this division, there's a possibility that his next fight is a championship fight, he is always ripe for any title fight.

Teofimo Lopez wins.  A 7th round TKO victory.  The fight was fully dominated by Lopez from 1st to 6th round until Campa was KO'ed in the 7th round.  Although Campa managed to stand up and continue, Lopez follow suit with a barrage of punches until the ref. decided to stop the fight.  It looks like Teofimo Lopez is in for the killin' on this new weight division.  Looks like his punching power is still devastating in this weight division.

This was expected of him, not a surprise to me anymore. He looked good in that fight though cherry picked but still it's a good comeback and i'm pretty sure Top Rank is happy with the output as one of their cash cow is back in action.

The future of this light welterweight seems to be exciting with the entry of Lopez and now we can expect a championship fight for him in the vacant WBC before unifying it with Josh Taylor.

Teofimo Lopez is back and the takeover style has come back the ref stops the fight in round 7 because Campa cannot defend himself anymore, Teofimo is very calm from the opening bell, no eagerness in his fight he looks for Campa's weakness and let his speed and power do the talking, this is the Lopez that we used to see, there's a big gap in skill and fight was fully dominated by Lopez, I guess Lopez is now ready to take over the 140 division now with this win.

Yes, it was the only knockdown but you can see from Campa's face that he is done already. But in any case, not to take anything from the win, but Campa was really slow. Nice comeback for Lopez, his confidence is not high win this win. He won every round in my book and it's just a matter of time before he can score that KO and he did. He needs one more fight before he can challenge Josh Taylor or the winner of Zepeda vs Ramirez.

Yeah, this is to be expected, you can clearly see the odds on Lopez on this one.

This is just a step up fight in the 140 lbs, cherry pick as we may call it. So it's good to finally see him back in the winning column though. 140 lbs might be as lively now since Lopez has entered this territory.

Campa though seems not to be intimidated by Lopez's stature, that's good, at least he will fight it out without any pressure whatsoever. Going to be big for Lopez if is he going to win by knock out again, and make a big comeback after that disaster from Kambosos last time.

I am rooting for Campa in this fight since I bet for him taking advantage of the huge multiplier if he wins.  Though I know Lopez is the crowd's favorite there is always this thing called an upset win, and I am hoping for that  Grin

Honestly, I don't care who wins between the two, I just wanted to see a good fight.  And I hope it will not be a boring one where a boxer just keeps dancing and roaming the ring without any or too little engagement.

you'll never know anyway what will happen inside the ring. remember, we have witnessed a lot of upsets recently. it depends on how they prepare for this fight. i can understand that lopez is the favourite here. but we can't disregard campa's boxing skills. if you are lucky with campa's bet, it is going on as 14x in stake. that's a very wide gap of odds. it seems campa has no chance over lopez here, based from bookies' odds.

That is good because Campa should stand his ground and not be intimidated because it is his own division and Lopez is just a newcomer looking to have a win on his debut in this new division he climbed on.

This will be fun to watch as both of them are eager enough to win big especially for Lopez because this fight will really dictate his future if he can have more big money fights in the future or Campa will wake him from that dream.

Boxers add up to 10 lbs after the weigh-in and before the official fight so when both fighters are in the ring don't expect them to have the same weight as they have during the weigh-in, that is why boxers hire nutritionists to manage their weight before and after the weigh-in, since both fighters reached the weigh-in limit, we are now talking of skills, power, speed and motivation not the weight anymore.

Campa should focus and think of the way to beat Lopez, better to bring all your best it's a chance to hype your name as we all know the achievements that Lopez has, though he lost everything with Kambosos and he is trying to get back on track, he still have a good resume that Campa can use if he win this fight.

Everything will be discussed after the fight. As of now, we are all giving our own opinions about the fight, but the conclusion can be done
after the fight.

Well, I'd say that a tune-up fight in this industry is somehow synonymous to a cherry-picked fight because Lopez's camp are surely making all the arrangements to get the hype back on their boxer after that upset he got last time against Kambosos. He could've won that fight if he just came prepared and not so arrogant enough to underestimate Kambosos, I hope that he got the lesson now and not to underestimate Campa because even if this is a tune-up fight for him, I can say that Campa can still defeat him.

Campa has knockout punching power too and is a natural of the weight division.   Lopez shouldn't feel too confident to the point of being careless.  We have seen several boxers getting knocked out because of being cocky.  And I think he learned his lesson in his previous fight against Kambosos, so I believe I will be seeing a different Teofimo Lopez this time.

Indeed! Campa has a decent KO rate with a figure more 60%+ and that's not really far from Teo's KO rate of almost 71% if we round it off. Also, Campa here has almost all advantage he needed like heigh, reach and experience to upset Teo or at least make him struggle. I'm looking forward to see a different Teo though, the one who's not underestimating his opponents nor getting overconfident because that attitude made him put a scathe in his pretty record.

I also voted for Lopez to win by either a knock out or TKO. Campa might be a good fighter, but Lopez is far more superior, he has the power and his boxing skills is underrated even though he lost to Kambosos.

And I'm not aware of the injuries he suffered, so it was due to the effects of Covid. Maybe this is one of the reasons why he lost (not making excuses though). Let's see how far Lopez can go in this weight class, I mean there are really good fighter in this division, that the road to championship and belt is going to be very hard for him, but nevertheless, it is not impossible.

Well, I really hope that López does a good job, as you say, the covid when it hits people usually leaves some things in the body, and those people who suffer from something in particular can develop much faster, I have friends and specifically an uncle of my wife, which, he got covid-19, he overcame it, but that caused his kidneys to attack and shortly after he developed a fulminant cancer that took him away quickly, in the case of athletes they have health conditions superior to those of a normal person, because their whole body is active and therefore their immune system sometimes makes nothing happen to them, perhaps there were no sequelae left and that is not an impediment to defeating Campa.

So we will see in this fight, maybe the PPV will not have great numbers, but the live gates might be very different. So we shall see, in the weigh in he was beaming with smile, could be that he is very happy to make the weight that easy, no more huge diet in his part just to make the contractual weight. And I also check the line, bookies are not listing any options for now, and that is too bad for those who want to bet and wants to see more options instead of the ML.

The fact that this fight is happening, means promoters are still making money despite not that much compared to the championship fight. It's Lopez's debut in this new division, if he wins this, he will more challengers before he can finally have a chance to challenge the champion.

What happens is that Lópe is launching himself into professional boxing, and he is not used to all the money he is going to receive, obviously this is a pretty good business model and it causes all kinds of emotions to be produced for the boxer, however, When all the gfans know the boxer's abilities, he will undoubtedly have a community of fans just for him. For me he can shine and he has a way to do it, I trust that he can give a pleasant surprise and enter professional boxing with all the law.

But I see others predicting that Teo will win by KO so let's see if he can do that. Yes, he is very much capable, but we will see if he will be affected by ring rust. He has been out for more than a year if I'm not mistaken, then go up to 140 lbs. So it might be a very different and rejuvenated Teofimo Lopez that we might see in this fight.

On their weigh in I see a different Lopez not the angry and very eager Lopez during the weigh-in in his last fight, he is calmer but determination is there there are no thrash talks between him and Campa, it looks like Teofimo is on a mission to take over the Jr. Welterweight this is going to be a very exciting match to see, Lopez has no excuse to lose now its a must win for him.

That's good, Lopez is more focused now, maybe he learned a lot from his past mistakes and he won't let that happen again. He was too emotional the last time he fought, he think of knocking out Kambosos early that's why he lost his focus on the game plan he has to follow.

Learning from that regretful mistake that take his stardom away from him, he needed to be more focus and play with the system. It really happened inside the ring. You take the trainings and the game plan, but when you are already in front of your opponents; you overlook the capabilities of the other fighters and start making mistakes.

With Campa, he needs to wok things out and make sure that he will win else, his career will be going down and a possibility that
he will be forgotten.

Though he is not undefeated anymore Teo Lopez is still one of the most popular boxers nowadays, not anymore a champion but a great challenger. His fight with Kambosos will never be forgotten because it was a hard-fought battle and it has entertained the crowd, it's just unfortunate that Kambosos gave all those belts to Haney losing via unanimous decision.

Yes, he can still command a lot of fans to watch his fights eventhough he is no longer a champion right now.

^^ Good luck mate, I think everyone is looking for Lopez to win here including my self so I wouldn't be surprised if a knock out will come. He is still way below the 140 lbs limit but he looks very  good at his new weight. Maybe the burden of trying to make the 135 lbs and perhaps he has problems making that in his last fight with Kambosos. He also is relax, smiling after he make the weight, for sure he is very excited for his comeback back and it a new weight class to go.

Campa is not an extra ordinary boxer that is why he is fated with Teofimo Lopez in this stage of his career, if he lose this one then i think he will be just another boxer who are just cherry picked for the young prospects to look good in the ring, this fight included.
He is not on the list of top Jr. welterweights there's a huge gap between Lopez and Campa, Lopez would like to get in contention and to the top by picking an unknown but looks like a dangerous opponent, but this is a good cherry-picked fight than the one Ryan Garcia picked for his comeback fight

Quote
Looking at the weigh-in, Lopez was so comfortable and got no problem with the scale, good sign for him as that would erase the doubt that he have trouble making the weight if he loses which i think is a slim possibility.

He seems comfortable so there will be no excuse this time, the boxing community expects a lot from Lopez the pressure is on him, Campa should have something that will surprise Lopez for him to get the win.

The fight will be tomorrow in our time zone but still no other options on how to bet on this fight,

I am not going to miss this one I bet on Lopez to win by knock out and it's a one-week salary.

Here is the final weigh-in,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze3TGRTPP6U

Teo Lopez - 138.8 lbs
Pedro Campa - 139.4

Lopez though looks very sharp, while Campa, I'm seeing somewhat of a weight drain. But we will see tomorrow. They still have at least 24 hours to bring themselves and eat and rehydrate.

Unfortunately, I check the sports bookies (stake and sportsbet), and so far only the ML is available.
