you are high all the time. where do you take the weed from.... now, that Alphabay was closed?   Grin Cheesy

You'd better be careful with such comments:
next day feds will fill a report about bitcointalk users openly discussing drug sale.

We shall refund so that those how have a little (< 100 ETH) will get more than 1000 ETH and those how have more (> 1000 ETH) will get under 100 ETH.

This way most of us will be happy and few of use will be extremely mad.

It's not about making the most people happy, it's about being fair.

There's no way they'll do that.

They should refunding according to pro level trollbox comment history. Pretty much the only real way to ensure justice

Revised Odds:

1) Btc-e does a deal with the US, pays fine, re-opens: 10% (smart business)
2) Btc-e runs with the money 1% (dumb)
3) Btc-e gives the US the finger and re-opens under a new domain: 25% (Russian style big balls)
4) Feds take all funds and keep it for the benefit of humanity: 2% (crypto apocalypse)
4) Feds take funds and refund people in a reasonable timeframe: 1% (bleak)
5) Btc-e refunds users: 61% (true love)

These statistics are 100% accurate, please do not argue with the truth

Wait what? Where is the blowjob? :O

More detailed information about what happened to the BTC-e service.

On July 25, 11:00 the FBI staff came to the data center where our server equipment was located and seized all equipment, the servers contained databases and purses of our service.

FBI seized wallets? Does that mean that FBI confiscated private keys too or what BTC-e wanted to say?Huh?

I just hope that BTC-e was not that stupid to leave private keys on trading servers, at least not for their cold wallets, or otherwise !!!!!!!!!!!

If purses were seized, okay, but shouldn't the keys have been encrypted? And this should only be for the hot wallets, right?

The fact that they put it like this does not bode well.......

umm. they did not 'scam' anyone. most if their shit is seized by fbi. they are in the dark and are trying to make things work (trying to keep angry traders calm). thats normal reaction from them. what do you expect they do?

We don't know that most was seized by the FBI. Just servers with database and access to "purses." One would hope those keys are encrypted in which case, seizure doesn't necessarily mean anything. And we should only be talking about client wallets and hot wallets, not cold storage, in theory.

This may be true. I feel they are just biding for time. But then I think: What will time do for them now? If they are going to disappear, they have already disappeared. The FBI has a better chance than any of us chump traders do anyway. Grin

"we will start the process of refund"

How they are exactly going to refund so much money? We are speaking about 500 000 000 USD here.

BTC-e was the most reliable exchange with the best running track record and the one I trusted most far above all others.  The record also shows that BTC-e has acted with integrity when its service was compromised and it restored customers' funds (the 2012 incident).  Just because there might be a few rotten apples on the site doesn't make it even remotely acceptable to take everyone else's money (and life savings mind you).  I really hope BTC-e pulls through this.

I suppose that would only be the hot wallets anyway.....and even then, I suppose there could be encryption. There is also the matter of their fiat obligations..... I wonder how much was at risk of FBI seizure. I imagine their Mongolian-held funds are fine, but who knows how much was at risk. I'm only aware aware of the accounts in Czech Republic and Mongolia...

This was translated correctly. They didn't elaborate which wallets were there.

I have never spoken before.

Likely the site will come back online with a different address offering everyone to withdraw with 40% fee in 90 days.......AND IF WE WAIT?....maybe less commission.

I have never spoken before.

My analysis is that he wants to get back online and continue the trading site....likely comply enough not to get seized....likely also he has a $110,000,000 bill that he would rather fund by people selling/redeeming now than dipping into the profits of the last 6 six years as a cost of doing business.....call that a Russian mentality or non customer service attitude.....whatever.

I would ask that this proposition is clarified ..... communicate somehow that yes....you will take from unbelievers in the first 90 days 40% and charge normal fees for those who stayed......not sure the benefit. Dude: Your reputation is at stake and the next 10 years of commissions are down the tube......pay the fine....comply with the way you operate so they can't get a sealed indictment again....suck up the loss against all your profits and make money forever....smart move. Rip off people who had nothing to do with the miscreant behaviour on btc-e.com and you destroy your ability to hold a loyal following. This open source community who believes in the model you put there for us (and yourself ok) will stand behind you if you grow a set. (of balls.....for the non-English speakers who don't understand idioms).

I think everyone here will stand behind you to free the world of the idle rich in the current monetary system who treat people like cattle. Bitcoin frees all peoples and you did what you did because it was right. I will back you.

Vote 1.....phineas562 World President.....platform......a fair and equitable money system for all independent of the goons who currently rule your lives.

Phineas562 catchcry!!!

The 40% withdrawal fee for the first 90 days was posted by a fake user calling themselves pinek (not penek, the actual chat mod that had nothing to do with running btc-e anyway).

It's total nonsense.

not
