I don't think it is a stalling tactic -- it is a mess, just as Deprived described it. Don't forget there are also 260 BTC worth of Ciphermine bonds (plus unpaid interest) to deal with.
And until CipherTrade FINALLY (#@$!%$#%@^!!) opens the doors, noone knows what the bonds are worth either.

It seems fairly obvious that they are worth zero, in that holders of DMS shares will never see a satoshi's worth from those "bonds".

This guy has lost contact with reality or is just shitting all over us from the start
He's doing the same stalling tactics that Pirate, Ukyo, Nefario, Ken Slaughter and many others have done.  The goal is to get people to forget about the whole thing and continually put off other investigations/legal action.  At least he's not threatening to withhold deposits from the troublemakers!
The big difference is here is that everyone knows that the funds aren't lost/gambled away/etc - we can see that the 150BTC is still held here: https://blockchain.info/address/1CzJY7pVkCqDjUtycHzFgeTTbbWokqYuXo
Yes, this is a stalling tactic of some sort, however.

How can he not understand what a massive dick move it is not to show up as promised twice in a row?

Seriously. There is absolutely no way he is that busy. It's a joke at this point; what an asshole.

+1 and the longer he waits, the harder it will be to sort out the mess.
As far as I'm concerned I stopped tracking how much he owes me already.

Maybe it's the first accidental scam of that pathetic so-called Bitcoin "community": the guy is so much in denial, thinks it's no big deal etc. and that everyone will just patiently wait for him. I wish I could sing the same song to my landlord when it comes to paying the rent: I just tell him that I put all the money in a shoe box, that I just don't have time to go to the bank but I promise that I will do it eventually.

If anyone has demonstrable losses caused by my absence (by which I mean actual costs incurred - not "I could have sold when BTC was 1200 if DMS had been relisted and CIPHERMINE.B1 had traded at face value") then I'm fine with covering them.  Lack of funds was never (and isn't) an issue for me.

i think "demonstrable losses" should include interest on huge downtime. as if we can believe deprived has the slightest intention of keeping his word

Sounds like carte blanche to go hire a PI and/or lawyer to track down Deprived. Assuming you can find him and he keeps his word, you'll be fully reimbursed.

So you sent an email to Jon Walklin and got an unprompted reply to the same question from Deprived?  That seems suspicious.
I sent an email to [email protected] before I tried calling Jon Walklin and emailing him. The email I sent to that gmail address basically asked if [email protected], Deprived and Jon Walklin are the same identity.

That makes the reply from Deprived much less suspicious.

Any reply from Jon Walklin yet?

Was there any data of interest in the email headers on the email you got from Deprived?  An IP address?

That seems suspicious for me too!! Like always - when someone tries to solve something about deprived identity, he appears for a while to calm down the crowd and then disappears again.

The address at the top 10.xx.xx.xx is a non-routable address along with 172.16.xx.xx and 192.168.xx.xx

Yeah once I saw the 10.x... address I figured it was a dead-end.

Deprived has missed the weekend unless he's somewhere unexpected like Hawaii.

Here's the entire header (apart from my name redacted); can't see anything of interest but YMMV:
Me neither.
I thought gmail included client's IP in the headers, but apparently that's not the case.

Sorry email reacts completely different than you would think.  You will never get the IP address of the mail client (Were the hell is he at) unless the sender runs their own email server from home.

Your email client or web interface logs into the server and the server handles everything.  The address at the top 10.xx.xx.xx is a non-routable address along with 172.16.xx.xx and 192.168.xx.xx

A non-routable address implies that once the IP hits the firewall, the firewall converts the packet to a public address and then sends the packet along.

Try it from home.  I have 2 email accounts, and sent a test message from one to the other.  My gateways were Washington state (outlook.com) and Northern New Jersey (comcast.net); both of my email accounts.
The data center for my ISP is about 20 minutes from the house and that was the address given in the email.

The gmail gateway used is located in France, near Luxembourg.  Try this utility: http://www.ipligence.com/geolocation

Can you tell I do this for a living?

I wrote Jon [Walklin] a nice email basically asking him if he is actually Deprived, and if not, if he knows another 'Jon W' in the UK computer forensics field who might be.
Overnight (my time) I received an email from Deprived. He says he's not Jon Walklin, and doesn't know Jon Walklin.

I haven't received any reply from 'Jon Walklin'. If things do not work out with Deprived I will continue to seek a denial from Jon Walklin. If this is all a mystery to him he has no reason not to say so.

Halfway through this weekend at the moment... anyone making/taking bets on Deprived's no-show?
Put me on the no-show list!

Put me on the no-show list!  How large of a bet are you taking?  Grin

Pre-annoucement> InspiredInvestor and I are starting a new fund.  I figured this group would like it.  It is called the TOGS fund.  TOGS stands for "Tired of Getting Screwed".  It will consist of a money market account, some scrypt mining, and whatever stocks we actually like..  Unfortunately, the choice of stocks and markets are very minuscule.

Also, we are looking at starting "Bitcoin Safety Net".  A Bitcoin insurance company for situations just like this! Oh yeah, and if your computer or service gets hacked and you lose all your coin.  I and some friends (banking and law enforcement) have been hashing this out for several months now.  But the fund will come first.

Or just hand over the fund to a trusted third party who can arrange for a controlled shutdown and fair distribution of funds.

But regarding the promised sorting out of the mess... I'll believe it when I see it.

Deprived mentioned "a clear plan for resolving the situation".

I agree with your sentiments, though. Actions speak louder than words.
