For those of us who hold CAI with an online exchange (like MintPal) only (ie no local wallet), what do we need to do to "keep" our Caishen - transfer the holding to Coin-swap, convert it to CAIx, then transfer it back to MintPal after they begin trading in CAIx??? Tried finding an answer in this thread but couldn't, sorry for the likely already answered question  Embarrassed

You can send coins from mintpal to coin-swap address then convert to CAIx and leave them on coin-swap until mintpal lists CAIx then move them back to mintpal.

Although it's never a good idea to keep coins on exchanges, better keep them on a local encrypted wallet.

OK so the swap must be made by the owner, the exchange will not handle the "conversion" for you. Thanks for that.

I don't "hold" coins with exchanges, they are there for trading. With the time it takes to move cryptos around it's rather hard to daytrade them in and out of local wallets  Smiley

CAI official p2pool

Please point your miners (ScryptN) here :

http://thepool.pw:2888

and use your CAI address as username

for example:

vertminer --scrypt-vert -o thepool.pw:2888 -u YourCAIPayoutAddress  -p x

you will receive payments directly to your wallet!

Why use P2Pool:

  • You will get better rewards: P2Pools award transaction fees from black rewards to the miners
  • Your mined coins will be deposited directly into your wallet, they are never held by any pool "operator" and cannot be lost due to incompetence or fraudulent behaviour.
  • P2Pool is DDoS resistant, it is impossible to DDoS the entire peer-to-peer P2Pool network, at best all someone can do is knock a node offline, in which case your client will just switch to one of your failover nodes
  • You do not have to register on any pool sites, etc. all you need is a CAI address which you will use as your username, and your rewards will be paid directly into your wallet.
  • Even if the node you are using goes down, you will not lose a single microCAI of payment, as the network itself stores your pending rewards, and will distribute them to you as normal.

Traveling in subspace
A very huge tip of the hat to Ian @ coin-swap. I had a brain cramp yesterday and sent 500 CAI to the wrong wallet address. That caused the transaction to fail and he was able to somehow find the coins and send them to the correct address. I thought for sure those coins were forever lost in cyberspace. Thanks is not enough. You've earned my business

*STOP NOWHERE*
My Linux wallet runs, but eventually it stops and just repeats the following error:

ERROR: CBlock::ReadFromDisk() : OpenBlockFile failed

Running on Ubuntu 14.04 server, compiled using makefile.unix.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Please go to #caishen on IRC freenode and ask lefter1s or OiSiS. I will also ask them to PM you here to help.

Could you try this:

Anyone having issues with OSX wallet, please let me know and i will help you fix it.

Also people who have OSX wallet working please confirm it.

Thanks!

I get a fatal error.
Jake PM Sakr with the exact problem you have on the MAC client. so he can help you out

Weird.  I tried to open it again and now it's opened and syncing.

OSX 10.9.2

He had the first start error, now it's working fine for him on OSX 10.9.2

the sync has been stuck on block 1580 for a while.

This seems to be a sync issue, probably not related to the wallet, try closing and opening again, also might take a little bit depending on how many connections you have.
also try going to CAIx-Qt->preferences->network then uncheck "Map ports using UPnP".

I'm good.  CAIx in wallet.  Thanks.
