No. no other crypto can replace bitcoin the market cap wont even be close to bitcoin but in terms of usefulness some altcoin can replace bitcoin although the marketcap wont be close to bitcoin but i think there would be alot of adoption to the certain coin.

Bitkoyn will never replace anyone, at least for the near future. But there are very promising coins that can be better in technology and convenience than bitcoin, the same etherium for transactions!

yes agree to be just a competitor like now eth, ripple, litecoin at least indeed be bitcoin competitors themselves but we need to understand bitcoin is the parent of all altcoin because initially made is bitcoin may not be substituted let alone 5-10 years bitcoin cuman even be rose very high

If we stop believing in bitcoin i think thats a time that other crypto replace it because in my opinion the future of bitcoin will only depends on us,if we were not stop using and investing on it so there is no chance that it will replaced to other crypto.
It sounds beautiful, but it's not true. After the fall of the price of bitcoin early this year, a lot of people have lost confidence in bitcoin and sold their coins. Did it somehow change the position of bitcoin? All altcoins also fell in price. Bitcoin has always remained the number one. There are large coin owners who can always support the price and demand for bitcoin.

I think such an outcome is possible, albeit unlikely, but not in the short term. Bitcoin reached its heights last year not in the least part because of the hype. Now the whole crypto world is stabilizing, calming down and will develop more linearly, so I do not think that some currency will succeed.

There are many cryptocurrencies out there, the fluctuation is wide and big. There’s a need of a coin that uses a process to stabilize its value.

No doubt that there is no other cryptocurrency or altcoin that can supersede the bitcoin. At least not for the next 5-10 years. Of course there are many rising competitors like Ethereum, ripple and litecoin.

Do you agree???

I believe that there are still alt coins with higher value than bitcoin but since bitcoin is the most famous of all the crypto currency, I  think that no other cryptos can replace it for now. There are coins with good potential but bitcoin has passed all the tests of time and it is already recognized mostly in every corners of the globe.

It seems to me that bitcoin will never move other coins.
Even in spite of its high cost, people will still trade mostly for them.
Especially the same miners, and holders of large wallets with bitcoin will not let him get cheaper

I agree with you and I think that Ethereum is the coin that will replace BTC after a while. Ethereum has all the qualities and potential to do that, and many supporters.  Smiley

Yeah thats very possible. Nothing stays at the top forever as history has shown and with coins like Ethereum there is a real chance that bitcoin will be dethroned. It will take time as crypto is still in its infancy but it is going to happen for sure. First the prices of alts needs to decouple from bitcoin than the rest will happen automatically.

The problem is that bitcoin is not a technological coin. However the market develops and the price of other coins grows, but it will remain the leader. The higher the capitalization of the market - the higher the price of bitcoin.

I think currently there is no other crypto that can replace bitcoin as bitcoin has gain is reputation and popularity. But of a crypto comes out with more advance technologies than it might overtake bitcoin.

According to this article: Quora
https://www.quora.com/Which-altcoin-will-replace-Bitcoin

None. There are new technologies, that will have their niche. Each crypto does a different thing, but Bitcoin is the most tested, the longest, and everything in crypto goes through Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will drop as market share in time, as many other flourish, but will remain the leader of the pack, even though it will increase less than others.

So if there is one to replace Bitcoin I think it is Ethereum long term, but there are many contenders. Also Ethereum is a different thing actually. They are all called “coins” but Ethereum is a network, with many real world uses.

I agree that there are no altcoin that can replace bitcoin for the next 5-10 years. Bitcoin is so limited and very rare compared to the new existing altcoins. They didn't experience what bitcoin experience when it was first introduce in the market.

I think that bitcoin will never be replaced by any crypto because it has genius technical basement. Bitcoin is like an internet 20 years ago. It is a revolution in the world of economy.

IMO, Bitcoin will still be number 1 for the next few years. It is still the preferred choice of many crypto enthusiasts. At this moment, I don’t see any altcoin that is able to overtake bitcoin yet.

It is very difficult to see if there would be any other cryptocurrency that would replace bitcoin. In time past, there have been many altcoin naming themselves bitcoin 2.0,  new bitcoin appelation that have failed to even start. Bitcoin has network effect that no other cryptocurrency has at the moment!
