I think bitcoin will not put an end to poverty, but the end of the fiat currency, in particular the dollar, can strike a very strong blow. Therefore, the future is crooked, since people are tired of being slaves  Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed

The existence of cryptocurrencies makes it possible to give every citizen in the world a stack of gold. The currency thus given out will not be valuable by itself not at first. Time will have to pass in order for scarcity to change the value of the currencies. Nor will every currency succeed in making impoverished people wealthy.

Yet the potential already exists. One day, poverty may be a thing of the past. On such a day, homeless people will no longer be homeless. Welfare programs and the government agencies who administer them will no longer be necessary. The world will be alive with commerce, wherein transactions can be done instantly with anonymity.

There is no way bitcoin can end world poverty. Poverty is a problem that every country is dealing. And not all people know about bitcoin. But i think bitcoin can help in lessening this problem.

I am surprised that this thread has attracted more than a thousand posts. The topic makes no sense. How can a currency end world poverty? In that case can we ask whether the United States Dollar or the Great Britain Pound can end the world poverty?

I guess it won't. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies might help but it is not a holy grail that would easily solve something. And one more thing, poverty is an effect, an effect of a much greater issue, for example a war. And with that, what we need to cure, to fix or to end is the root of those issues.

Balance should be in everything, so I think that don`t matter what will change in the world, some things will stay the same.
Bitcoin is no doubt really a good thing from earning perspective and it has actually provided number of opportunities to all of us in making of some good amount of money even if someone does not have enough money to invest in bitcoin.

However, it is not at all possible for only bitcoin to eradicate the poverty from this entire world. It needs the support of few other similar things. Only then we can expect some positive change.

Bitcoin alone will not be enough, bitcoin as well as money will not change the poverty of the world significantly. The key is caring. Yes, with our caring fellow human beings will end poverty in this world
The number of people who are not having enough money that they can live a comfortable lives is really huge. It is not at all possible for bitcoin to eliminate the entire poverty from this world. However, bitcoin can greatly reduce the unemployment and that is what bitcoin is doing at the very present time. It all depends on the interest of the people and that will help them in changing their lives.

I think bitcoin can only lessen the poverty in the world, not totally end it. Number one reason is that, not all people have the capability to have access to bitcoin. Also, not all people have an idea about bitcoin so how can bitcoin can end world poverty? Maybe some poor people strive more in their lives and then discovered bitcoin. In that way, those poor people who knew bitcoin will not be poor anymore. But to those people who dont know what bitcoin is, will remain poor.

People can use it as a tool to make more money to make themselves richer by increasing their net worth but expecting bitcoin to end world poverty makes no sense to me. Bitcoin can change an individual's financial status and  economic status. And the solution for world poverty is to start in the smallest component of the community which is one's self
I don't think so. Poverty is some kind of personal thing, people have all their lifetime in order for them to get out of the rat race. Also if they discovered Bitcoin like a year earlier they could be earning by now online, also I don't think that it is possible to aid all poor people when it comes to earning online as some of them lack the capacity to operate a computer or any gadget.

If many people would increase their economic status the community or society where he belong will also increase its economic status. Domino effect. But first, bitcoin must be promoted even in the lowest society.
Bitcoin will not end world poverty.

Bitcoin is not a magic wand which will end world poverty. It simply doesn't have the power to end such a massive thing. Also bitcoin is not a payment system anymore. We have moved to a different goal long back, when the confirmation time increased and transaction fees hiked. These confirmation time and transaction fees is going to be increased again and again. So we will move from the initial goal further.

Bitcoin has now purely became an investment asset. IT can provide a huge return which any other conventional investment will never be able to offer ever. So I take bitcoin purely as an investment and a trading asset. I earn profit  and keep it for the future.
i agree for me bitcoin cant end world poverty but it can change people lives specially to those people who use bitcoin as their sideline because it will help a lot financially and it is a big opportunity to those unemployed people.
Bitcoin can surely end the world poverty if the people will work hard to earn using bitcoin. But if they will still be lazy, even there is bitcoin, poverty will remain.

Nope. At my opinion poor people just too lazy and they can't start working and improve themselves and nobody and nothing can't help in situation like this. People becoming beggars cause of laziness.

I don't think so. I believe bitcoin can change peoples lives specially to those who used btc. There's so many reasons why people suffered from poverty, many circumstances. some suffered because lack of education, money etc. and some suffered because of terrorism.
There are so many ways through which bitcoin has helped needy and poor people. So many unemployed but educated people are now earning a decent earning with bitcoin.

Yeah, there are quite much cases of those who were living a life of poverty because they were not holding any degree but since bitcoin simply demands hard work and some good skills, they are able to earn for themselves and their families via bitcoin.

On my opinion, I think bitcoin cannot end world poverty. Bitcoin is a digital cryptocurrency and are used primarily to make any transactions fast and easy, and was not invented to lessen or eradicate poverty. Many people invest on it, or do trading because they wanted to gain profit, and there were already a lot of people gaining from it. But, not all persons have the capital to be able to invest on it. Some earned bitcoin from faucets, campaigns or other ways, but not all are capable of doing the same thing. Also, one needs to have a device such as mobile phone or tablet, and an internet connection in order to use bitcoin, but not all persons have the capacity to buy those device/s.
Poverty is a very big problem, and bitcoin cannot resolve it at once or cannot resolve it alone. Solution on poverty relies also on the hands of the people. One must work hard and have the perseverance to achieve their goals that may eventualy become a way to change their economic status in the future

Well with one snap of bitcoin it cannot end the worlds' problem which is poverty. It is always up for the people to move by themselves. It is on the people that is on that situation, it is up to them if they still wanted to live or they wanted to die as poor. There are a lot of stories I've read saying that there were many people born as poor but died as rich. Well for them to end their poverty using bitcoin they need the literacy to do it. At least they need to be media literate to deal with this.
