ETH can not replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be used as an asset for accumulation and it will be digital gold. ETH as a smart contract will take place after bitcoin.
It is really possible to beat Bitcoin but not this year since ethereum have so much potential in the section of alternative coins. Bitcoin right now is very volatile and no one can predict what will happen in the future.
It is not possible to say such a thing at present.Ethereum has to go too far to pass bitcoin.Bitcoin will always be in the first place since he is the founder of this business.
for now there are so many people predicting that ETH can beat bitcoin for the future, but in my opinion this never happens because bitcoin value is much higher than ETH, although ETH has a good foundation and time for the future , ETH price has recently dropped a lot, it depends on the bitcoin price.

Yeah, Bitcoin being the crypto king is still the most influential currency among all in the market. However, Ethereum's technology is far more efficient than the bitcoin's but still, it will remain the second coin as it is lacking the competition in the terms of global popularity and demand. Well, it might overtake bitcoin someday but that will be quite tough for it to reach that position and I don't think that it would easy for bitcoin to lose its charm...

If you mean ethereum price can beat bitcoin price, I guess it is possible. Both of bitcoin and ethereum is created by blockchain technology. Blockchain technology is being used to create applications which are beyond just supporting a digital currency. Look at the purpose of ethereum. This is the largest and most well-established, open-ended decentralized software platform that enables SmartContracts and Distributed Applications (ĐApps) to be built and run without any downtime, fraud, control or interference from a third party. Also about the technically such as technology and development, I think ethereum must be can beat the bitcoin.

i can sure with you ETH can not defeat bitcoin rightnow and maybe many years from now, bitcoin is unique and powerful coin that is dominating the market for many years, despite ETH is a great altcoin but the amount of ETH is too big that makes it becomes too much popular that can hardly be used as a good asset that can be held in the future, many ICOs and using ETH so it is popular than BTC but the price can not be able to be compared with BTC of course, but BTC is special because its own unique and high value through times.
