I think this was been discussed few times ago and the opinions are always in between or in half like me i don't believe ethereeum can do beat bitcoin but i am not closing my mind to its possibility because first of all crypto is so unpredictable and impressive when a coin moves.
Although we all can see the rate at which ethereum is doing well in the coin market and improving it technology, which make it attractive to companies and icos to use as a platform for some of their exchange, but I still do not believe it can beat bitcoin as bitcoin has a more advanced technological and management team, it is the oldest coin in crypto and has more stability and potential than ethereum because it controls the price of most coin in crypto.
etherum is meant for smart contracts most of the smart contracts are running on erc20 tokens and thereafter u can expect more new innovative smart contracts are coming up in etherum so etherum is for developing of smart contract and allowing all industry to participate in erc20 blockchain where bitcoin is meant for fast payments so there is no competition between eth and btc
The percentage to beat bitcoin by etherrum is high because we know most of the upcoming IcO's are base to the ethereum or erc20 and tha's good requirements that ethereum are qualified to become bitcoin soon or become number 1 in all cryptocurrency coin.
Ethereum is will beat Bitcoin hands down when the flippening occurs.
Ethereum has reached a network value of 1 billion dollars in about 8 months; for Bitcoin it took 4 years 3 months (51 months).
Ethereum reached the 1 billion dollar value milestone more than 6x faster.
This rapid early growth can be attributed to Bitcoin laying the foundation of awareness and information channels that allowed for Ethereum to jump quickly into the consciousness of the freshly mined cryptospace.
I am sure we can admit that Ethereum is leading the race when it comes to the Blockchain technology, Ethereum's Blockchain knows the need when to evlove and

both are good,i'm supposed that it keep ethereum at stable price,the fee gas is same with bitcoin is nightmare for me.
bitcoin is currently at $8,364 while ethereum is at $715 both coins have advantage, only that bitcoin is at a more higher position than ethereum coin.
And also bitcoin has so much potential over ethereum because it's the first cryptocurrency. If ethereum is to beat bitcoin then it will take ages, but as for now bitcoin is the king!
It seems not possible or I would rather say it does look impossible. ETH though going good in the market with good graphs and high demand is still not in a position to pose any kind of threat to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is known as the king of crypto for it has been accepted world wide by almost all the big stores in Europe and across America as a medium of exchange. ETH has no such progress except few companies. And also bitcoin has so much potential over ethereum because it's the first cryptocurrency. If ethereum is to beat bitcoin then it will take ages, but as for now bitcoin is the king!

Bitcoin is not stable anymore as it used to be before, that is why no one is using it as a store value, everyone is using it as a way to make money, an investment. But no, ethereum is never gonna beat it, because t is the same, only that with a few more features
Chance of beating the Bitcoin is very less even though they are adding many features to ETH block chain but efficiency is completely different compared to reality. But there are many people who are still, supporting the bitcoin compared to ETH.

Ethereum coins are indeed able to beat Bitcoin but I am sure if the year 2018 is still the year for Bitcoin and Ethereum cannot beat in this year. It may take several more years to defeat Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin can be the first and best coin every year. Yes though Ethereum is a good prospect for the future it's not as easy as you say. Sorry For bad English. I am trying to improve it.

It is possible that etherium may beat bitcoin but I think it will not happen soon. There maybe large differences when it comes to the changes of bitcoin's price but I think more people are still committed here.

I think no even ethereum have potential to grow I think eth will not beat bitcoin. We all know bitcoin is the first coin invented in cryptocurrecy it's proven the value and we all know that bitcoin is more profitable. So I think as of now no coin beat bitcoin. I think Ethereum has more potential for growth at the moment but BTC will always be king. Its a store of value.
I like this statement, is the king established the kingdom.I think no any altcoins can beat bitcoin because it is the fundamental of all coin. If ETHEREUM will rise it's value so do the bitcoin too. All altcoins depends on bitcoin.

Not really, I know that there are many people that love ethereum and will like for it to surpass bitcoin and I understand them but ethereum is mostly used as a way to invest in icos, but now there are many competitors trying to take ethereum place and while those platforms will not take out ethereum and make it disappear I think it is going to lose some of its market share. While it is true that ethereum seems to be a more functional cryptocurrency than bitcoin in certain aspects, I am convinced that if ethereum had the potential to displace bitcoin from its place of predominance, that would have happened some time ago.
I believe that in case the bitcoin gets displaced by some altcoin, I have many doubts that it is ethereum who achieves it, since both cryptocurrencies begin to feel the pressure for the new technologically more advanced altcoins that have been emerging recently.

That is very possible in terms of how huge the growth in terms of percentage for both coins. Ethereum will easily break the $4,000 price within the year. That is way more than 500 percent. Bitcoin will find itself difficult to reach huge growth within 2018 only because it has already reached a very high level of value that it cannot anymore multiply threefold easily.
