Most likely not. Free games are not gambling because there is nothing at stake. This can simply be attributed to training and honing techniques and skills, since essentially they take more time and there is a possibility of making mistakes. Gambling is when there is something to lose at the same time moment to get it. Is this available in the free version?)

You lose time when you gamble for free Cheesy Thats more important than money Cheesy I double lose game, when you lose time and cant prolong your life, not achieve something Cheesy If anything, where you compete against something or someone, and there is something is on stake is gambling that you say, then kids gamble from very early age then Cheesy When they challenge and run who first takes that one cookie that is left. Or play rock-paper-scissors to decide whos first is doing something. Dont you find it funny that parents hide gambling from kids, when kids already gamble? Cheesy

It is true that gambling and normal games both brings excitement and are entertaining for players, but they are not the same at all. In fact, video games being played by most of people in a period of their life, and they are less addicted since you may lose interest in them very quickly, compared to gambling games, no matter how simple and they are, we always find excitement in them since money is involved. Let’s take a small example on how most slots are very simple and also very boring if you play them with demo mode. Once you put money inside the game, it becomes more interesting to see the outcome.

I think it is dangerous to mix these two types of games and think they are the same, both having different styles and a different ways to make you addicted. However, I find them both entertaining and also should be played with moderation.

I have always hd the same impression on what is considered gambling and what not. If there is no money involved, I would've never called it "gambling". About free bets with a chance to get some prize, then I would be more cautious, although it is almost clear to me that it is not gambling, at least in the traditional sense of the term.

But I have heard of attempts by legislators to rule videogames where a random loot is offered to the player after some achievement. Like make them PEGI 18, for example. Proof that a real concern about the blurring line between playing and gambling is arising.

Yes, free games excite me, especially if played with my friends. It is fun doing this with friends but not with strangers when it comes to betting or playing cards; there's no excitement when it comes to betting without anything at stake.

I cannot consider it gambling as gambling is defined as something that has a stake attached to it, we become gamblers when we are taking risks and if there are no risks its a game not gambling.
Yes, gambling and games are definitely very different because in gambling we can gamble with random players because we only hope for profits from betting, but games are better played with friends because the enjoyment is just entertainment and whoever loses will be given an entertaining challenge. I actually spend more time playing with friends than gambling, I enjoy seeing them laugh and we used to get together on Saturday nights to play cards, I hope those memories are there but they have been working out of town and they have families.

Yesterday I played free card games on the computer and had a lot of fun and it was also quite exciting. You know, I play different games: both paid and free. And sometimes, based on the fascination and the pleasure I get, I find it difficult to say which games captivate me more. But I would be interested in how you answer the question of whether free games can be considered gambling. Another way to put this is: can gambling be free? Do free games excite you as much as games that involve betting money?

Paid games are of course risking what you have and whether you like or dislike the results, if you lose you will definitely be disappointed, but in free games winning or losing is not a burden that we have to bear. I personally like both, in fact I have so much fun playing free games that I forget to gamble or play paid games. I also apply this method to reduce excessive gambling activities. In a week I usually play almost 5x but when there is an alternative to vent my gambling habit with free games I only bet 2x a week.

Of course, this means that there must be one party who suffers a loss in the game so that the game can be categorized as gambling, but if not, in the sense that there is no loss at all then I think it is quite simple to say that it is not gambling but a game. ordinary things that can be accessed without involving anything that the person owns, especially money.

On the other hand, yes, we are the same friend, I also sometimes when I don't have a certain amount of money but I want to gamble, for example, I usually always divert my attention to these types of free games, because in fact if our goal is nothing more than just to fill our free time with entertainment then yes Of course, these free games can really be used as an alternative, which has benefits, as you can feel, by including these free games as one of your choices besides paid games, it can save our finances a little.

I think anything that doesn’t go with risk is merely a fun game and not gambling, for a game to be regarded as gambling, there must be something to risk and a reward for the risk.
There are several games that might even give you the option of playing with an entirely different person even from a different country but as in as much, there is no bet on it, then it can’t be classified as gambling and below is a primary definition of gambling from the internet “take risky action in the hope of a desired result.”with this definition, the key factor is risk and the moment there is nothing to risk, then such a game can’t be seen as gambling.

What is "free card game on the computer? Are you talking about card games like classic solitaire or hearts? Or downloading blackjack or video poker games and playing them? First options is entertainment, second option is practicing and killing inner wish to gamble imo. I find it similar to playing with game or fake money. It is the same addictive as playing with real money. Potentially, such games with free of fake money are even worse than regular gambling, as gambler gets cheered so much from success and zero risk, that he might try to start risky gambling with large amounts.
Well, I also think the same as you that what is said is no different from playing demo gambling using fake money. Playing with fake money or what we then know as demo gambling is a situation where we won't spend any money to play and we won't get anything from the game we play, so this is the same as what the OP said.
However, if we talk about gambling without money involved, I don't think it can be called gambling, because in gambling we will definitely spend something, not just money, it can be other valuable objects. For example, some time ago I saw a football influencer placing a bet on a luxury car with another influencer. This is a form of gambling that does not use cash and only cash. Then there is a demo account, we can only play because we are given free credit to play.
My friends and I are guessing who will win in football at Euro 2024 for example, but we don't have anything out even if we lose, it's not a form of gambling because there is nothing at stake.

Anything that does not involve staking will not have that thrill in it only if it is a bonus or free spin from casino that you can use to win something that is when I will appreciate it. However free games can make you feel good as long as you are having fun with it because you will use it to pass time not to get bored.

Gambling with money is worth more than playing free games because there is a tendency of winning and if you are lucky, you might win huge amount of money. However, losses cannot be prevented.

Whenever there's no money at stake, the game cannot be considered as gambling, it's only gambling when you have some amount at stake and you are hoping to get returns, free games are not gamble and gambling cannot be free. One commonality between the two game is that which you did stated about it exciting some one, both the paid games and the free games do have some level of excitement it leaves on it's players.

There are only difference in the type of excitement and probably the reason for the excitements, for paid games which can be seen as gambling, the excitements comes mostly when the gambler is winning but whenever they are loosing they don't get excited as much and same applies to the free game only that with free games the player may not get to put it to consideration so much but will for paid games.

2 - you have 10 friends and they are at your house, each one plays against the computer and the guy who gets the furthest in the game is declared the winner, each of your friends bets 10$ and the winner takes 100$, this is considered gambling. are considered illegal gambling because you don't have a license and neither do your friends have a license

Are you serious?  Grin Who needs a license to place a bet against another person? You can't say it's illegal if I'm making a bet with you that a certain team will win a specific football match and we do this involving no third party, we are not using a bookmaker for it but we do it personally, there is no concept of this being illegal only because we don't have a license, you can't have a license to make such bets, that is illogical and there is no need for that.

A license is required to run a business if you are allowing people to come over to your house, play games or watch games and make bets while you collect the pot, charge a commission on it, and give the remaining money to the winner, that can be considered illegal because you are trying to run a business discretely and not trying to do it openly with permission.

Making personal bets with each other doesn't fall into a gambling business category.

In my country it is illegal to place any bet without a license, even if it is bet between friends. It doesn't matter if the person is charging or not charging for keeping the money in the pot, it is illegal for someone to bet money or any asset on an event or game and the winner will keep all the money. My country's government categorized this as illegal gambling. That's why the government of my country has always encouraged people who like gambling to use licensed places and all people in my country are aware of this and do not place bets on private events such as football games between friends. Maybe your country's laws allow you to do that, but in my country the laws don't allow it. using international casinos is legal in my country, the famous 1xbet scam operates in my country and sponsors my country's football league, because the government of my country is aware that it has a license in Curacao.

Free games? Any computer game, even the one we buy, can be called free in the future. And where there are no competitions, bets, or any kind of material incentive, I would not call them gambling. Being an addicted gambling addict, yes, it is possible. Addiction to computer games is not always related to betting; this is another disease that now affects young people, but fortunately, not everyone has the intelligence to spend all their money only on games.

It's just like that. You can't compare gambling something, even small amounts of money or other things, like drinks or something like that, with not gambling money at all. Without money it's more monotonous, but as soon as you gamble it becomes more exciting. So I wouldn't call free games gambling.
Just as entertainment because there are no emotions that fluctuate in free games.
In essence, the excitement in gambling games is a real bet using money, and even whatever money is spent on gambling will always be considered.

I used $10 just for a trial on a gamble, not much, but it made me think why don't I use half of it, so I don't lose everything in just one game session.

There is no adrenaline whatsoever when using free games on gambling, it is just like a regular game with no passion to win and if you lose it will just be a normal thing.

In order for any activity to be considered a form of gambling two criteria must be met, the first one is for the activity to have a great degree of randomness, and second for something valuable to be at stake, free card games fulfill the first criteria as they are the same in principle than any other card game.

However the biggest difference appears when it comes to the second criteria, as you are not risking anything when playing those games, so at least to me they cannot considered to be a form of gambling.

I will go with NO, gambling is never free and even the free bet you are given by the casino is just to arouse your gambling habits because if you win with it you will definitely come back and stake more money next time. I believe the free bets are like application to the real gambling. For me it's never gambling till you put your money inside.

        -     If it's free games and you can win real money gambling, that's great for me, and there's no doubt that's really exciting. But if it's totally free and won't be real money when you win the free games in the casino, it will remain like demo games in a casino.

But if you get a free spin and have a chance to win real money in crypto gambling, it can be said that it is gambling, even if we call it free games. And the free spin is also usually given if you often play in a casino that has free spins; in short, there are conditions or criteria before getting the free spin.
