I think the best of all is when you play with friends for free, without having to bet money, as I have said on some occasions, if we play with friends, with some Beers , and with a barbecue, wow that is the best, that our wives are there too, so as not to have problems getting home late, lol, it is better to take those precautions, and while they are there they can also prepare some food for us and entertain themselves talking, that is what it is about, and talking, telling stories about things that have happened, all that is good, it is enjoying it to the fullest.
We can play a game with our friends without using money so we can enjoy the moments with our friends and having fun with them. We can prevents any bad situation with them because we realize that money can attract more problem if we can not be wise treating money. We can hurt other friends when we playing gambling with them especially if any of us wants to win and gets the money.
We often such bets are made with friends for some reason where no money is involved but the bet is still placed and there is a win or a loss. By placing such bet one does not suffer financially as a result of which one does not have to get cost due to loss. But if there is no change in money or wealth in the bet, the interest in the bet is almost certain not to be the same as that of a real gambler. To be accepted as gambling, there must be an exchange of money, otherwise it is not gambling. Although there is no direct meaning here, it can be through something else. But I think having money as a perfect bet is undesirable. A free game like this can be fun to play with friends but I can't bet on that.

Free casino games are never termed gambling. These are the freebies that are offered by the casinos to try their platform before using any real money. Now when you risk your real and hard-earned money to win some extra money, this can be called gambling. Most of the time, these free games are provided by the casino to attract more users to the casinos. Hence, this is not gambling at all. Instead, this is a smart advertising technique, and you are the victim of it.
We should not be making the mistake of free and paid betting and I must say that I've read many people saying the same thing as you. Just opening your phone to play the normal free game with nothing attached to it or playing a direct video game in your closet is what I know is not gambling. But trying a casino's platform out with free bets like demo practice on their platform is gambling, expect that you will still not part ways with anything valuable even if you lose.

What many people do not know is that they are actually wagering by that act (virtually), and what do you call that? But the mistake they make that often makes them believe it's not gambling is that the money is not coming directly from the pocket, all the same, they are betting on the platform, are they not?
Games are of different types, and classes and as a matter of truth, whenever you play a game and you do not stake your money on selecting who should win and at what odds, you are not gambling then, what makes it gambling is when you risk your money in the wager process, playing video games on either my phone or on my computer I don't see that as gambling, but only when if you are playing against other players and also staking an amount against each other, at that ooinyot has turned to Gambling.
We have some really exciting free video games that are all free and just for entertainments, although there is nouch difference between them and the real gambling games that we play on casinos, the only difference at times may be the staking of money.

Yesterday I played free card games on the computer and had a lot of fun and it was also quite exciting. You know, I play different games: both paid and free. And sometimes, based on the fascination and the pleasure I get, I find it difficult to say which games captivate me more. But I would be interested in how you answer the question of whether free games can be considered gambling. Another way to put this is: can gambling be free? Do free games excite you as much as games that involve betting money?
Before you consider it gambling, there should be something from you placed that's at stake, and if there's nothing them most probably it's just a game but the interesting thing about free games and gambling is the fact that they are both addictive before you realize it. If your addiction lays within d free games, then it sounds like a safe one otherwise it could turn out a huge problem.
Sorry but I will have to disagree with you on the part that both gambling and free games are addictive, myself being someone who have played free game for several years over the years, and also have gambled, I can categorically tell you that free games are not addictive as you claim, game where you stake nothing, that is, you have no chance of losing anything, and you also have no chance of winning or getting anything as a reward if you win, such games can only be addictive but for a very short while, infact, I won't refer to such as being addicted to the since it's something that usually fades away quickly on its own, and once that hunger fades away, you discover that playing that game becomes so so boring.

This is unlike gambling where you stake money to possibly win and get monetary reward in return, you Stand a chance of losing your money, and this makes you do all you can to make sure you win so that instead of losing your money, you make more money in return.
Addiction to gambling is the real addiction, I do not see any addiction in free games, if free games were addictive, I would still be addicted to free games by now, because I played free games like no other did. 😁

I can only enjoy free gambling when I play with friends. Especially when we play team card games like "de-berz". I tried more than once to play gambling in demo mode and realized that they do not bring me pleasure. Apparently the lack of excitement is due to the lack of risk. Although if I play gambling in a circle of friends, the risk is also absent, but here probably the attention is switched to the actions of each individual player and in the course of the reputational risks.

When you play a game with your friends or play a game with someone else, it is not considered gambling if there is no wagering involved. But if you bet anything be it money, food and anything else then it is gambling. Nothing to say about free bets. Which one would you call free gambling? No bets are placed on that game? Why use the word gambling where no bets are placed? gambling is gambling you can't call everything is gambling if you want.Games that are not used on a gambling site or are never played as gambling are called gambling if they are played with bets on the winnings of the game. so without bet is not considered as gambling for any type of game.

Yes it means something that will only be considered gambling when the activity involves something that is considered valuable to bet on such as money or goods, or the point is an activity will be considered gambling when one party is faced with the risk of losing something real.
But as you said that if the game does not have any risk faced by both parties then it is nothing more than free play.

On the other hand yes I also understand that there are demo versions of games where the casino provides various games that can be played for free, and even though it is classified as a type of game in the casino but if it is a demo account then maybe I would say that it is not included in the gambling category, meaning and the point is something that will be considered gambling only when the game involves the risk of losing something real, and lastly yes as you said that if someone is addicted to free games then of course they will be safe, because there is no risk involved.

Many stories telling that our relationship with other friends can  be ruin because of money so we must be careful when we wants to playing gambling with our friends. But when we playing a game with our friends, that will not considers as gambling because we don't use money. But if we use other things besides money to bet, maybe that can be called as gambling so we needs to determine what we want to do and decide what is the game we want to play together with them.

Another way to put this is: can gambling be free? Do free games excite you as much as games that involve betting money?
How about the mechanism? Is it the same as gambling? Then, do you need a deposit to withdraw in the end? Usually like that. If you bet and you get money or lose, yes it is gambling.

So if you play free games that you can win something at the end even when you didn't stake anything, it's not gambling but should be referred as gaming. To your second question, free games excites because of the fun that comes with playing games that you would lose anything apart from time and energy.
Indeed, if we play games and win, but we don't get a bonus, we don't bet, yes it's just playing games. And if we win but we don't bet, yes it means we are playing games with rewards.

because the meaning of gambling is:
Quote
the activity of betting money

It's clear, gambling means we are wagering our money, betting our money.

After explaining how you had a swell time playing free games on computer you still went on to ask if free games can be considered as gambling. First off, for you to consider any form of engagement a gambling, you must stake a valuable on it be it money or any other acceptable item. So if you play free games that you can win something at the end even when you didn't stake anything, it's not gambling but should be referred as gaming. To your second question, free games excites because of the fun that comes with playing games that you would lose anything apart from time and energy.

I guess we are all bias when it comes to these free games. If they involve real money, we'd be happy and entertained with that because we've got something to expect that shall give a monetary value eventually if ever we win. But then, these games aren't really the favorable ones to have it because all we wanna do is to make sure that we enjoy it freely. With or without money, the games that OP has mentioned should be enjoyed without connection to having money or staking money.

We're all brilliant and clever, we can do such things and attach it with gambling. There are odd games that we can put a prize and then give the condition based on what we think is normal for some of these games. Although this isn't new, casinos do give free credits in order for their users to stick to them and play all of the games that they have. It also depends on how likable the games are, if it's in demand and there's real enjoyment on it, they'd stick. And so, free games, free credits, everyone loves free but not all of us are going to be satisfied with what we get from there.

It could be a gateway to gambling, but it itself is not. The only reason being there's no money involved and the only thing that it really does is acquaint you with the way the game works, and the rules and mechanics that it entails. For card games I believe you can even use this to sharpen your skills which eventually leads to you being confident enough to hit the casino, which is why I said it might become a gateway for you.

I think you should stick to free games but only because they are free so you don't lose anything whether you win or lose, check yourself to see if these are the types of games you think you'd be good at eventually, and when that does happen only then should you allow yourself to hit the casino and play these games with money at stake. That way, you don't needlessly lose money for the "experience" and you have that added sense of confidence knowing that it's all you who brought those wins you would be able to bag.

As for me, no doubt games with money involved bring the most rush for me, but if I were to choose? I'd pick free games any day. It's relaxing, doesn't cause me much strain or stress, and at the end of the day I never lose anything besides the time I used to play it, and even that isn't wasted time.

Free to play games cannot be considered as gambling because here you are not risking any money, you are playing various games just for entertainment. If you were risking money or if you were playing games with bets or thinking about doubling money, I would consider it gambling. Demo gambling can be free if you play demo gambling on gambling platforms. Free games can never create excitement like a human gambling because whenever you gamble for money on any gambling platform your excitement is 100% and when you play free games your excitement is not 10% you are just free to spend time. I also think playing the game won't be much fun no matter how much you say it.
You are right, free games are not a type of gambling even if you play demo gambling on a casino service, because something that does not contain bets will never be considered gambling and if something is a type of betting even though it is not a type of gambling game at a casino then it will be included in gambling too, but usually it is an activity which turns into betting on physical gambling games, for example playing rummy from the start just for entertainment but they want to place money bets for the challenge of winning the game and many other similar things which end up placing money bets to test emotions when playing gambling.

You didn't even mentioned games like Playstation, Xbox games that has Fifa, Mortal combat, car racing and many more. All these games are entertaining games and no money involve as a single player but there are ways people connect and play as multi-players with money involved. They have there account depending on the game you are playing and I can tell you for free that some people make a living from playing online games but you can't compare these games are casino games.

I will like the games to just remain only entertaining games and not gam gamble, we can't turn everything to a place where we can bet money else things Will be crazy as people wouldn't see entertainment on things again and they might even lose players because in real life, we have high numbers of people that don't gamble to people that gamble.

While I definitely think that free games can be exciting, I don't think they can ever be considered gambling like most people conventionally understand it to be. Gambling means that you have something at risk, but free tokens that you are given in a play environment that have no monetary value are meaningless and will cause all sorts of unexpected reactions. If you are playing to win, but another new player comes in with their freely assigned chips, then essentially you never know if your opponent is going to throw away their freebie roll after roll until it evaporates. Whereas in actual gambling people put a bare minimum of logic into their actions and are trying at the very least to preserve their money, it's really not comparable.
Free games is really just that good for the sake of trying out to test out something but in speaking about being entertaining or having that enjoyment then you are really just that basically talking about free games.
There's no really having that fun if we do speak about into those free games on which they arent that risking something. It wont really be that can be called gambling in the first place just because
you arent that risking something on which we know that it isnt really that gambling in the first place.  When it comes to thrill then there's no way that you could be able to feel out on dealing with free games.
As long you arent that risking money then it cant be called gambling. You would really be able to tell the main difference with just that making use of your own common sense.  Smiley

You're not far from the truth, some of the casino gambling websites uses that as attractions and also a test run method in their website, its a same vain whereby casino gambling websites gives a bonus, so I know that the reason why casino platform do such is to get traffic, let state this categorically, their is no gambling casino website that intend to do anything free, they have a motive of doing anything they feel like doing because they know that they most benefit in anything they do, I will say that their own strategies they applied to get customers, I think for now this is new initiative.
I have always said it that casinos never give anything for free, for whatever they give a player that they can not take back from that player, they will definitely take that thing (plus more) back from another player.
You see all this bonuses, promotions and rewards, there isn't anyone that comes without strings attached to it, online casinos are more and more of getting new gamblers, while they are also at the same time, doing everything to keep their current gamblers, and even wake up the inactive ones to start gambling as well.

I've read about a land based casino where if you win a huge amount of money, they would literally give you a vip suite in the casino's hotel area to lounge for free, this is to keep the gambler close and to constantly draw him in to gamble, this the casino will do until they are sure that they've regained back all the money the player won from them, then they can then ask the player to go home and take some really proper rest.

Every casino have a strategy that they use to take back from gamblers, what the casino has previously given to the gambler either in form of gifts and so on.
