Easily. In the first often a scam is the airdrops, they are designed to attract the attention of the audience to their projects, as well as potential investors. I never believe that airhors can bring at least some money.

Hi everybody,
Lately I am reading a lot of posts asking: is this airdrop a scam? Is that free ICO a scam?
So I am wondering how can something that doesn't cost you a penny be a scam. Sure, they get your email adress and maybe a ETH Adress, but how can you  really be scamed with only this informations? I am not talking about airdrops that require kyc registration, that for sure can be dangerous.
Cheers,

Scams is not only about the coins that get from you. Also your time ans effort can be scam when you joined to them. And I can say that even you just gives your email address you can be hacked. Cause in the first place we don't know what this hackers capable of

Once you participate in the activity - be it airdrop, ICO or bounty, then it is no longer free because you have invested your time and resouces (internet data, energy, intellect, etc) in that activity in anticipation for a reward. To start with, the activity you performed is in anticipation for a reward, even if it is to give out your email. For example, the site might be harvesting emails to sell or give to a vendor or might even be for ulterior purpose. It becomes a scam when  the expected reward was not received.

I don't understand how free thing can be called scam...other case is when bounty (where you pay effort) is appears to be scam - that's possible.

Many people participating in Airdrop want to earn a lot of money. But most often it costs a couple of dollars. Then disappointed that they were not given a million dollars, they begin to call it a fraud. But think about it, you're spending on Airdrop just a couple of minutes.

If someone steal your personal data and you spend time (even if a very few) to make an aidrop for me it can be considered a scam, even if you have not invested a dollar in it..

It is probably going to occur, the pay is additionally a great deal of scam, particularly if the free, the likelihood of an expansive scam. Along these lines, previously you ensure first the project is great and complete an investigation of the potential outcomes that will happen.

Not all of it are scam.
But you must be careful before join any project.
Free token without doing nothing can possibly becoming a scam.
Be aware of it.

No one token can be free. If you are offered it - you can become the victim of the scammers. By the way, some people think that Bounty awards are free. No, they are not - you have to work too much to earn them.

Yes,I agree in your opinion,no one can be insured against fraud, and Yes nothing happens just like that and that would get something you need to work, work and work again.

The scam means not only mone taken, If someone promises you to give rewards for doing some tasks and if they left you without rewards, then that is a scam too! Now, think yourself, Airdrop is not free as it looks, it is given by confirming some tasks! I think you get your answer. Cheers!
I, too, have not seen such a situation, where the fraudster acted for fraud, and not for the sake of money. In any case, users lose money, who were deceived, and not vice versa .

The only dangerous thing is to give your private key. Don't make that mistake!

It is still a subject for scam because people on bounty progrms and airdrops are giving service and time to promote a particular peoject. The thing being scammed is the service and it is not always literally money which is being done so.  It is simply projects which are not paying their employees for accomplishing their tasks.

Cheers,

When someone offers something free, and you do not have to do anything for it, there is always the possibility of fraud. We need to understand - with participation in bounty or airdrops, we do not get a coin for free. After all, we are doing a lot of work, we are wasting our time and energy.

There's a lot of sense here. First up, you are right that airdrop or ICO bounty participation is never free to begin with.

Something called "free" should not entail any reciprocation of any sort at all. If it even asked for your name or a signing up process, then the term free becomes irrelevant. Even to so called "free taste" in the supermarkets aren't free at all. Giving out your name, signature and mobile number means you are paying them back with information vital for them to collect but instead of paying for researchers they gather them using the so called "free taste" approach which is much more cheaper to execute.

I think FRAUD is the appropriate word IMO cause you were promised a reward for your effort. One probably wasted one's time and brandwidth and they is a saying that "Time is money"... so it's ok to say one wasted money... That's SCAM

A crime or fraud can use various ways to persuade us to be lied to. No one is free in earning money, it certainly costs a little or a lot! It will only waste time and harm you. News that might not be worth consuming in our minds !!

This is a Scam because they use you for free to promote their projects. They're stealing your time.

Cheers,
I think you misunderstood the meaning of the word scam. As for me when people say that the project is a scam means that the project don't even have the prototype or a platform
