I think It can be a scam. Usually the coins that are airdropped are also sold at ICOs. And they usually ask you register in their website, join a telegram group, follow them on facebook, follow on twitter, etc. They want you to help them to attract investors.

it could happen because all that is free is a hoax. They deceive us just to attract other investors to join this project. after they get these investors they forget their obligation to give a bonus to those of us who have worked on the project.
Theres airdrops that have free coins that can be used to purchase things on the Internet though they are real they are worth little to no money.

Let me tell you a story. I received some coins for otho airdrop back in January, they were going to launch 52 rounds of airdrop promising more tokens for tokenholders. I've bought on etherdelta after 1st airdrop, received 2 airdrop and then Otho announced Kucoin listing. Then they disappeared and get rid of all tokens decreasing price to 0.

We used to think so. Although you also need to trust. But in our life it is difficult. After all, we used to get only then. When we work hard and invest our time and energy. It's not bad I believe.

Well, people don't want to be cheated on anyway. If some scum project collects nothing but your e-mail it still can be unpleasantly because they can use those e-mails for something, at least for spam.

Well, with crypto ,care has to be taken, for the fact that it  is free, more care has to be taken, I can't advice myself to make use of such. Because OK nice you log in and your valid information is received. Then your account can be hacked. And you know  what? More trouble loading....... Soits better to stay off it

if you speak for free, not all that is free is a scam, only a few that I find scam, if a scam is a risk to us because we only get free profits but the only loss is the time we use for something that is a scam. my advice should be to avoid what is about to be unprofitable.

Not necessarily to pay before being scam, scam has lot of way to scam , once your details are taking and your time was involved and at last nothing to show for it then you were scam, don't you know those information you gave can be use or hack as well , and they can sent spam mails and track your doings to hack you email, lot of way it can be use , I just like being careful but can't be perfect in all.

Yes, some airdrops can be a scam in a way that they might claim to give you some free coins that they will be distributing it after their token sale completion for joining their telegram group, following on twitter so that their community grows and they can attract more legit investors to buy their coins & in the end the ICO makes an exit scam without distributing airdrop coins and coins to the investors. Also, everyone should avoid those airdrop coins that require KYC, don't sell your information for just a few tokens that have a value of just ~5$ it could be nearer to scam.
Scam means dishonesty or fraud. That is why people are calling some airdrop as a scam because they didnt give the rewards as they promised even it is free. The bottomline is we are promised to be rewarded after signing up but they didnt give back anything, we already call that as scam or fraud.

Hi everybody,
Lately I am reading a lot of posts asking: is this airdrop a scam? Is that free ICO a scam?
So I am wondering how can something that doesn't cost you a penny be a scam. Sure, they get your email adress and maybe a ETH Adress, but how can you  really be scamed with only this informations? I am not talking about airdrops that require kyc registration, that for sure can be dangerous.
Cheers,

Actually it is not free, even the airdrop. When some ICO holding airdrop, they need to hire some community managers to manage their airdrop.
The social media, the website they made, and the promoting ads they used to attract more peoples to join their airdrop.
That is not a free project, they want to create public awareness using their airdrop event.

anything that is free is most likely to experience a scam that certainly exists. because the free is not necessarily the best, if it is the best, of course many people use it. but for now too, there are lots of free but scams. we need to be careful.

Not all airdrops are scams. Still a lot of prestige airdrop from those altcoin want to distribute to their community. Most of the scam airdrop are new tokens created and in the storm market those tokens will never be successful.

Normally the coins that are airdropped are additionally sold at ICOs. Furthermore, they as a rule ask you to downlaod an application, enlist in their site, join a wire gathering, tail them on facebook, take after on twitter, and so on. They need to have numerous supporters and adherents to demonstrate that they have a great deal of fans.

They need you to assist them with attracting financial specialists.

Airdrops can be scams. But you should be cautious enough to check the insight of a particular ICO in which you are interested in.

Well, let's start with the fact that not all organizations may require your personal data. So if people for the sake of money did not put their identity on display, now there would be no such people. And secondly, if so please you can provide from the Internet. There's a bunch of scans and photos of the lucky ones like you. If I were you, I'll check their details, their bounty campaign and also their members. Joining one can give you experience about of what they are really doing so that you wont be afraid to invest money and to build up trust.

If you think that handing out personal information or related account details is not a scam, then think again.

You see, there exist a lot of driving force to promote a crypto related project and among them is gathering real world identities as a possible compliance to regulatory laws. And most of the times, ICOs pay for this. So if you signed up with them and did not receive any payment even after a KYC, then it is only right for them to 1) Pay you what is due or 2) Be wise to accept what happened and move on to the next phase.
