I think that the main factor that can cause ADA to eclipse ETH, is the fact that the project is research based and aims at implementing a smart contract layer. This means that it will do so using the knowledge from the Ethereum vulnerabilities exemplified by the Parity incident. With respect to decentralization, Cardano is focused on total decentralization.
cardano can threaten ethereum but for now it has not been able to work maximally to compete with ethereum. may have to wait some time or several years ahead in order to compete with ethereum.
I also think that Cardano will be a very strong competitor among systems in which it is possible to make transactions.It's developers prefer a more professional approach to new technologies.
I don't assert, however I surmise this is a wrong assessment! ETH it is around 2000 altkoins! What's more, I imagine that ETH has every one of the conceivable outcomes to scale its system!
Eth is much stronger than cardano I am sure. Cardano is not so competetive altcoin but Eos has more chances to beat Eth in the future because Eos's potential is bigger.
It will not threathen eth but it will compatible to eth. cardano price is still under 1 USD, eth price is more than 477 usd. The diffierent is so far. If the price of cardano want to climb to 10 I think need a year or more. EtH is more used in investing platform of ICO. There are many dex exchanger that trader fee comfortable meanwhile I don't see infrastructur of cardano is better than eth.

I second you, If cardano is competitive to any coin then it will be Ripple not ethereum.

Cardano is becoming popular to all people because it was a new coin launch few months before year ends of 2017. All popular people began to notice cardano because of the uniqueness of that project. Then this month of july 2018 there was a news that cardano will be listed on coinbase and that was threatens the solid supporters of ethereum.
What is so unique about cardano? And the news was news, until it actually get listed on coinbase. It still have not much traction to get listed on fiat exchanges. What other projects are getting built on top of it?
I think that there is no threat and can not be, cardano does not want to grow along with the market as rapidly as the etherium and this already explains who is the best, but in my opinion this year there will be something unexpected!

ETH is stringer than Cardano so much. It is too promising and reliable that I am sure that Cardano won't be able to be cometetive altcoin to ETH or beat it.
Cardano is my biggest holding, I see this is a huge gainer in the latter half of this year and into 2019. Big things to come, mark my words

I don’t think that Cardano has enough potential to threaten ETH seriously. ADA is a nice coin with bright future and I have it in my portfolio, but still I don’t believe it can beat ETH. At least not in the next 3 or 5 years.
Ethereum's first mover advantage far exceeds anything Cardano can throw at them. I don't doubt Ethereum will be surpassed one day but it will be way farther down the road when Cardano is kicked to the dustbin of history. Ethereum is top dog for the next 5 years.
it is not impossible that the ADA will threaten the position of ETH because the ETH is now growing and already many trusted pseudo company, ADA may take 3-4 years to compete with the ETH
I agree the momentum for Ethereum is very high that a coin like Cardano could not just overtake it in just a short period of time, Cardano needs a lot of improvement to be done, to match Ethereum's popularity and volume, some investors do not have Cardano yet.
Cardano promises to become public in September 2018 after the introduction of its own decentralized system Shelley, in which the verification of transactions will be carried out according to the principle of protecting the share of ownership (PoS).
I admit cardano is pretty good, and cardano is one of my favorites, but ethereum is still the most favorite. Besides I think cardano can not threaten ethereum, for me ethereum is still better than cardano, because etherium has the best team and best project.
I believe that Ethereum has a very greater stability, and Cardano will not be able to damage it.
There is a strong competition pressure on the etherium blockchain from others projects, such as not only cardano, but also EOS and NEO, which is good for the community and for sure is not going to kill etherium.
