Mate, as always, this is another great job from you.

Since I'm a bit ahead of you for the August update, I'm no longer surprised by the drop in Indonesian board local activity data. In addition to the number of users who appear to be decreasing from month to month, the number of merit distributions and the number of posts is also decreasing. Some of the most active users have lost interest in posting on local board as the campaign no longer counts local posts, this has lowered the overall post count in August. Maybe for September, the data will decrease further for the above reasons as well.

Great work on this report as usual Rikafip.
I know everyone else is speaking English language so there is no need for special local boards, but I always wondered what the stats would look for United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
My assumption is that most active users are coming from US, but someone could be living in Asia or Europe and still speak US English.

Our Croatian local board is experiencing a small drop in activity compared to last month, but that was to be expected as summer is always a time of reduced activity on the forum. Hopefully, we will get back on track and the activity will increase after the summer break.
There are few new members showing up recently but they are still not active enough to make significant changes with stats.
Our local king Slacko needs to be urgently reactivated or even Greeks, Polish and other boards are going to run over us.
Maybe he is still spending his royal bitcoin wealth in some seaside resort or island, but this is red alert and I am getting worried for him. Smiley

I really appreciate your monthly overview of local board activities, Rikafip. You do a great job as usual. (By the way, you forgot to change the color of the German bar in the first chart, but it's not a big deal.)

And once again, the Portuguese local is absolutely dominated by joker_josue, the unsung hero and undisputed king of the local boards. It will be very challenging to dethrone him since he doesn't even have strong competition for the moment. Wink

Thank you Rikafip for taking the trouble to publish the numbers every month. That's really great of you.  Smiley

Just to remind the Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their local boards as of yet, with the hope that changes soon.
Thanks for this comment as a source of motivation for the push to get a local board for those mentioned local communities as our presence is becoming prominent in this forum and the need to have a dedicated local board, for local discussions. Am cool with coming 4th on the list of active members in the Nigerian local thread.

As I promised yesterday, here is the monthly overview of local boards activity for August 2022. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space so I suggest that you check those awesome tools if you want more in-depth overview.

Just to remind that Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards as of yet, with the hope that changes soon.

Post activity per local board during August 2022

Seems like the drop in activity slowed down; during last month 14828 posts were written across 18 local boards, which is very similar to July numbers (18873). As usual, Russian local boatd has been the most active one with 5155 posts, followed by Turkish and German boards. As we have the standard names at the top, so we have at the bottom, with the usual "suspects". I did notice that Greek board (which is usually one of the least active ones) is getting more active month after month so hopefully that trends continues.

Regarding the communities without local boards that are included in this overview, two out of three (Pakistan and Nigerian) are still going very strong and I am really surprised that they still haven't received any feedback regarding their request for a local board.

Number of active members per local board during August 2022

During last month 1174 members were active across local boards, which is again a very similar number to July and 1188 members. It is a negligent decrease, especially considering the fact that even those that wrote only 1 post were included. Might be the time to consider either setting the bar higher, or sort this chart a little bit different.

Merit shared per local board during August 2022

Even though post activity was very similar compared to July, merit shared increased noticeably: from 5164 in July to 5501 during August, which is a ~6.5% increase. It might seem insignificant, but at this time I will take any increase as a positive thing.

As usual Russian board remain the most merited one which is understandable considering their post count), followed by Turkish, German and Italian. Once again I am surprised by Nigerian and Pakistan board and their very high numbers, especially considering the fact (afaik) that Pakistan board doesn't even have their own merit source.

Merit senders and receivers per local board for August 2022

Just a reminder that local boards are sorted according the amount of merit shared, and not by the amount of senders/receivers.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for August 2022

And in the end, lets see how local boards performed regarding the merit/post ratio. Since post numbers remained pretty much the same while amount of merit shared increased by ~6.5%, it is logical that ratio will increase as well (well, at least for the majority of local boards). Once again Arabic board had the highest ratio by far, even when you look at the 12 month ratio, so the last month wasn't just some rare exception for them.

Several very active local boards like Portuguese, Russian (situation there might be specific due war) and especially Philippines ( I still can't wrap my head around their extremely low merit/post ratio considering how active they are) so their members might think about applying for a merit source status.

The most active members per local board during August 2022

And for the end of this monthly overview, let's see the top 10 active members across the local boards. Once again @joker_josue has been the most active local member with 288 post, leaving @DdmrDdmr and his 191 posts far behind at the 2nd spot and @Ratimov with 159 at the 3rd spot.

Sorry, you know I like this inside joke of “slacking contest”, as you have understood,  it is even milder than a “friendly reminder” action.
I really think those analysis aren’t a chore.

I made all charts couple of days ago and just have to write the text which I will do either later today or tomorrow morning at the latest, so you can expect it to be published tomorrow.

I thank everyone for the help they gave, when creating content to comment and for the merits given.

Congratulations on your achievement, which is absolutely deserved.
Your contribution to this forum is really great and visible to everyone, and I sincerely hope that you will soon become a merit source, because you also deserve it with everything you did on the forum.
This forum really needs more members like you, and I wish you the best of luck in your merit source application.

You already know how the merit system works, but you may be looking for ways to earn more merit. At the very least, your history of merit has made it clear to me indirectly that you know how this system works.
Someone can clearly analyze my desire to get more merit, it doesn't matter that's everyone's right.
But as I said before, hard work never betrays results.
Actually this is the point I want to learn?
And that's why I went into various sub-discussions to broaden my knowledge.

Maybe my thoughts are still a little ambiguous in understanding the merit system or services that I want to provide, so I need a lot of mentors to discuss, because in the past I didn't really pay much attention to the substance of the problem.
For example, what I'm responding to, if I don't try to fix it now, I'm afraid that in the future I won't be able to do anything for this beloved forum. That's why I get into posts that sometimes I don't master more deeply.
I also don't know if this is wrong?

I almost forgot to remind you, if you want to continue discussing how the merit system works or anything related to it, then let's continue here: Merit & new rank requirements
And thanks for this one.
Maybe in the future I can learn more about things related to this, so that in the future my knowledge will be more in-depth about the source of receiving/providing services.

It's not bad to expect from the source of achievement, because that is the most likely choice.
But the question is, do we fall into their category?
I didn't expect this response mainly because I'm not talking about what you can get (merit you earn) but about what you can provide to others (merit you send). That's why I say: find your own way to contribute to whoever you think is worthy regardless of whether you like doing it on a local council (recommended) or on a global board.

So far I've also started learning how the merit system works, they will come when someone starts to raise the standard of quality and is able to make a contribution.

Instead of expecting perfection from merit source, then find your own way to contribute to whomever you think is worthy regardless of whether you like doing it on a local board (recommended) or on a global board.
It's not bad to expect from the source of achievement, because that is the most likely choice.
But the question is, do we fall into their category?
I agree more with this parable "Because the process never betrays the result".
I mean, when we start identifying ways to make a positive impact on others, that's where we're most likely to stick around.

But I don't urge you to do that because maybe you have your own way of how you want to contribute whether it's about merit or maybe with your quality posts.
Everyone has their own limitations and advantages when choosing a place to go.
Choosing one, is the most likely thing to do, either achievement or post quality. Because people will develop, when they always pay attention to the drawbacks that must be corrected and take the time to learn.

So far I've also started learning how the merit system works, they will come when someone starts to raise the standard of quality and is able to make a contribution.
While the pattern may be different, some come with little benefit and some come with all at once.

  • Quality
  • Innovative
  • Constructive
  • Statistics
  • Contributions

Are parts that need to be selected and improved, so that the way the forum works will be more systematic, measurable and run well.
Because if you hope all at once, it may be difficult to achieve in the near future.

I completely forgot about him for a while and yes he will definitely on the top posting the depth charts for bitcoin prices on WO thread and others asking him to pump up the charts a little bit.He usually have such high number of posts each month but other members also spending quality time over forum is appreciable.

So the point is, the more I come here, the more I understand how the merit system works. I can never expect all of them to have the same ways and habits but I can expect them to do what is best for the community.
See this system has given all of us free choice to distribute smerits on the forum and there are many members including me also (not a source) who hands out 1-2 merit in each TX and if you think they are not distributing enough merits you can always report some good posts here for your local board that can help other sources to merit them if they understand the language.

Well deserved as you already have the merits for legendary rank you gained the required activity also so congratulations on your new rank man.

I am just curious to know how an account can be a bot and automatically post on bitcointalk.  Is there any method or script which makes this happens  Huh  I am not a programmatic tech so maybe I am not able to understand if this is a simple thing.
You can read about it here that how he managed to do automatic posting on the forum and is posting the price depths charts on WO thread on the forum.

There were some other members also doing bot posting like @LoyceV as he has mentioned in this thread also.

They use certain script for posting through bots and you can also use some if you want as it's allowed but only if you are sharing something useful.

Using bots is fine, just as long as they follow the rules. The sad truth is that most people use them to spam or plagiarise content, but there are genuine uses for them.

Another question is that are bots and their posting is allowed on the forum ? (of course, they must be allowed as the bot topped the highest poster  Smiley but still asking)

Each merit source has its own meriting habit as some send more in bulk, some like to merit more different posts. Also keep in mind that not all merit sources have the same amount of merit allocation which can also affect the way they send merit.
You're right, that's something I wanted to hear about them. I know that some merit sources set high standards like technical posts whether it's about wallets or something technical about bitcoin. A lot of people don't have the expertise to understand that and discuss such a thing in multiple threads so it's not uncommon for me to see them discussing it with the same user for different times.

So the point is, the more I come here, the more I understand how the merit system works. I can never expect all of them to have the same ways and habits but I can expect them to do what is best for the community.

He is the key so hopefully he gets back into sig campaign after his summer vacation is over. Fingers crossed.
Maybe we should try to bribe him somehow, I am just thinking what would be the best way to do it Wink
Even with his reduced activity he was still on top in our local board but Daniel91 and Trofo was much closer than in previous months.

I think we have to help him and find him a place in a signature campaign as soon as possible.
He rested enough, and now is the right time for him to get more involved in this forum and improve our local statistics.  Cheesy
This month I didn't manage to overtake him in the number of posts, but last month I had more posts than him and that is a historical moment that I will never forget, because it will probably never happen again  Grin Grin
