Hi all!

I get four error messages when I try to mine with Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v10.2 Beta.

It says:
Code:
17:29:51:156 1840 GPU 1, GpuMiner dk2a failed -4
17:29:51:296 bd4 GPU 1, GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4
17:29:51:328 4c4 GPU 1, GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4
17:29:51:359 1dc8 GPU 1, GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4

That GPU 1 is ASUS Radeon R9 280 DirectCU II 3GB and GPU 0 (Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 8GB) works but with low hashrate = 378 H/s.

Radeon Software Version is 16.9.1.

Any help to get them working?

Can I dual mine the Cryptonight algorithm and Decred?

I don't think there is a dual mining option in Claymore's Crytonote miner, if you want dual mining you'll need to use Claymore's dual miner https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/claymores-dual-ethereum-amdnvidia-gpu-miner-v150-windowslinux-1433925

I try with 6990 4GB but ASM not working

any command? I use 9.7 now

"This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, 1GB or more."

Read the readme!

for 9,7 version write  " -a 3 " in command line for old card (5xxx & 6xxx) :

"-a   Select algorithm:
   "-a 0" (default) means autoselection.
"-a 1" fastest mining mode for 290/290x and 270/270x cards.
"-a 2" low power consumption mode for 290/290x cards. A bit less speed (1%) but less power consumption (10-15%).
"-a 3" fastest mining for old cards (6xxx and 5xxx).
"-a 4" fastest mining for recent cards (280x, 270/270x etc).
You can also specify mode for every card separately, for example, "-a 1234".
It is very important for good mining speed to select correct "-a" and "-h" values for your cards.
For old cards 5xxx and 6xxx use "-a 3" mode only, otherwise you can get "LowDifficultyShare" errors from pool."

I've added the -allpools 1 option, we'll see if that changes anything...

As for mining on NH it's a double edged sword, It really does pay nicely even if new coins get totally fucked up. The skilled dev will tweak the difficulty re-targeting algorithm accordingly and the shitty dev will swap to ETH tokens. It's a hardening process, perhaps a hammer not a sword is a better analogy.

What do you expect 'allpools 1' will do?

Nicehash is also good for getting paid in BTC without owning ASICs.

Finally, Thor's hammer was smashed by Hela recently - how does that fit into the analogy Grin

Nicehash is the work of Satan! Don't give them your hashrate they have way too much as it is, too much power in the hands of a single entity is never a good idea, power corrupts.

Crap, I was mining on nicehash via SSL when all my miners (linux/cc v10.2) got disconnected, when they reconnected they all complained about a server error then experienced a segmentation fault except for one rig that just froze.

My windows rig was connected with gatelessgate via the regular nicehash port and it's still up and running.

Here's a log snippet from one of the miners right before it crashed:

Code:
...
00:18:05:489 da70f740 GPU 5 temp = 63, old fan speed = 72, new fan speed = 75

00:18:07:574 98ff9700 cert subject: /C=SI/ST=Slovenia/L=Ljubljana/O=NiceHash/CN=*.nicehash.com/[email protected]
00:18:07:575 98ff9700 cert issuer: /C=SI/ST=Slovenia/L=Ljubljana/O=NiceHash/CN=*.nicehash.com/[email protected]
00:18:07:575 98ff9700 SSL/TLS encryption is enabled
00:18:07:575 98ff9700 send: {"method": "login", "params": {"login": "REDACTED_FOR_BCT_FORUM_POST", "pass": "x", "agent": "xmr/1.0"}, "id": 1}

00:18:07:575 98ff9700 XMR: Stratum - Connected (cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:33355) (SSL/TLS)
00:18:07:656 98ff9700 got 79 bytes
00:18:07:656 98ff9700 buf: {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"Internal server error"}}

00:18:07:656 98ff9700 parse packet: 76
00:18:07:656 98ff9700 Error in server response
: {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"Internalservererror"}}
00:18:07:657 98ff9700 buf was cleared

I just wanted to add that it happened to me as well. If it keeps occurring I'll likely end up mining Equihash instead but their Cryptonote servers have been really flaky recently, first it was 'shareabovetarget' errors on EU, now this. Most of my rigs crashed the software but one hard-locks when the graphics cards come out of 3D mode and drop their clocks back (I assume it's voltage offset is too low). Has anyone had a response from Nicehash?

That also happened to my rigs today.

is a problem that occurs with some frequency mining in the nicehash.

Ah yes, gatelessgate; I gave it a quick go sometime back but found that Claymore's Cryptonote miner was much better. Sgminer is another one I've used but lately I've found Claymore's miner to be a bit better. Sgminer used to be, for me, better than Claymore, something must have changed in my setup, I shall investigate.

Don't know what GPUs you are using, but for mining XMR on RX 4x0,5x0 GPUs , claymore is not even remotely as fast as a properly set up SGminer GM.
The only problem SGminer GM has is not being up to date, so there's problems with changing voltage, clock eth., but that can be done with other tools as well.

So yea, there's probably something changed in your setup Smiley

Do you have a suggested guide or thread for SGMiner GM? I know it's not been updated in a while. The thing I always liked about Claymore is it seems to auto-configure itself quite nicely and generally pretty well, that's why a lot of people (me included) use it.

There is a thread for SGminer-GM here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/genesis-mining-presents-sgminer-gm-now-with-zawawas-gg-updated-17012017-1612329 . It's not a busy thread but there are still some occasional new posts but, as said, your pretty much on your own.

There a thread about it here on the forums, other than that, not really.
Its everyone for himself when It comes to sgminer I guess.

Otherwise I agree with you, Claymore are damn fine miners, I'm using them myself.

Holy crap Claymore dude, one of my 480s gets 996 h/s!!!  It was doing 830 h/s on the other miner I've been using.

Care to share with us what the 'other miner' was (and the config used) so we can do a little test for ourselves and see if Claymore is that much better - thanks.

other miner:
gatelessgate-0.1.3-pre6b

I get 633 hashes on all my 3 GPUs  RX470 - using 9.7 and when i use 10.2 i get 300 odd hashes on my 3rd listed GPU.
