New with RX480 cards...need some info/help.

I tried to mod rom, copied 1750 strap to 2000 strap. After reset I got the yellow exclamation on the card...so I must disable driver signature.
Is this the correct way to do it:
Code:
bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on
or:
Code:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

Card is XFX RX480 GTR 8GB, Samsung memory ( http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-rx-400-series/rx-480-gtr-8gb-dd-led-rx-480p8dfa6 )
I'm using WIN10 Pro X64 & latest AMD driver

Maybe someone wants to share already moded .rom for this card?

Thanks, cheers y'all  Cool

ETH-only mining in this situation

1. What stale share ratio is acceptable on ETH pools? I use the European Ethermine server, my ping is 50-ish sec and I get 0% to 5% stale shares.

2. How many incorrect ETH shares per day do you tolerate?

3. I get hashrate drops on my rig - small drops, when one of the 4 GPUs drops by 10 MH/s (1/3 of individual hashrate) and total drops, when all 4 GPUs drop to 0 MH/s. These drops last 10 seconds, there are 4-6 small drops and 1 total drop within 60 min. What is the reason for these drops?
I figured - Total drops, periods of 0 MH/s hashrate, happen right before the DAG creation, so that is a normal event.

4. There are periods when the hashrates of all GPUs drop by 10-40%. The hashrate was stable during the night, when Claymore miner was the sole active app. These drops started at 7:20 in the morning, when I sat at the PC and started my routine work - Excel spreadsheets, browsing via Chrome, checking rig condition. Total runtime - 9h 30 min.
See the chart "Total hashrate":
06:07-07:41 timeframe:
07:42-09:17 timeframe:

Plotting individual hashrates, I observed that all GPUs drop in hashrate in such moments:

What causes the uniform drops in hashrate - the activity of other running apps, undervolting, overclocking or is this a drawback of the miner app itself?

Trying to find the solution to GPU1 not working.  Can anyone help?
Notice GPU1 on the top right (Hardware Monitor)

I see You've been so lazy to connect display at card hashing with 4 MH/s as I told You. Let's try the finger exercise, hope it is not too much for You again:

1. Stop the miner
2. Open device manager
3. Disable GPU that was hashing with 4 MH/s
4. Enable GPU
5. Start the miner

Claymore, please make this be done automagically by the miner. Thx.  Wink

Need help. Card gigabyte gts1060 from the factory with memory 9026 produces just 14 eth. Tried all versions of drivers. Tried version miner 9.3, and 9.4. Don't know what to do.

Hmm, I've been playing around with version 9.4.

Should my GPU (RX570 4GB) have poor ETH hashrate (19-22) and get better as I undervolt? That seems backwards. Normally you have to jack powerlimit or give +vcore to stabilize clockspeed under utilization. Is this expected behavior?

At stock, 1.00v vcore and 1246mhz core, 2000mhz mem @ 1500 straps: 24MH
At undervolted / underclocked, 0.806 vcore, 1100mhz core, 2000mhz mem @ 1500 straps: 29MH.

I've played around with the powerlimit settings, different undervolts at different pstates. I can't quite see the pattern as to why this miner performs better the more I reduce power.

Does anyone have an idea?

I hear the RX5xx series is a lot like the RX480.
You can even put a 580 bios on a 480 if you dare. thread on techpowerup

So... you could try to emulate what the Jukebox v4 RX480 bios does and make your own 570 version.

That is:

1. Increase Max Power Limit by 5W

2. Set 1150mhz core clock.

3. 2150 MhZ memory clock @ 900mV, 1750 straps to 2000.

4. WattTool to drop voltage -100mV ("-16" in the gui.)

If that is unstable, drop memory clock to 2130 MhZ and try again.

What's probably happening when you undervolt is that the card runs cooler and makes less errors resulting in faster reported rate.

1500 straps are probably unstable @2150mhz as they are on the RX480. YMMV. You may have a shitty card.

I appreciate the insight, things are a bit clearer now.

whats the fastest eth hash most people get on a 470/570? the 480/580 is a bit different, can push the mem faster and has more CUs. I've seen about 31MH/s for the 480/580 around the top. I've got my 570's all dual mining ETH+DCR at 29MH / 667MH @ 125w stable. At this point I think I can only squeeze a few more watts by keeping the power limit and undervolt ratio the same, but the lower I go with the undervolt the more stability problems. I'll stress test 0.8250v overnight.

Mr Claymore,

please add added shares-per-GPU statistics when "s" key is pressed. as commandline option. I am mining headless and would like to see per gpu stats also.

Hi,

Today when I started dual mining (ETH+DCR) on my Asus RX580 STRIX 8GB (Samsung memory) after few minutes computer hangs up?

I don't undervolt - I've only copied 1750 straps to 2000.

When I mine solo only ETH it works just fine - tested for 24h without any problem.

Any clues?

Oh... I'm on Crimson 17.5.2 Beta drivers.

hi guys...I really need your help.

I don't know why...but the watchdog error is killing me. I mean I have no idea what I could do to solve this issue.

My current rig looks like that:
7x RX580 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB
8GB RAM
Windows 10
Virtual Memory min 2000 max 50000 (increased that much just to see if its working better...but it isn't)
Temp: 52-58°C
Fan: 60%
- ethi 4
- gser 2

The hole system is running but after some minutes/hours I get an watchdog error mostly at GPU4.
I checked everything used new riser even from an other manufacturer but it doesn't work.

The new Claymore V9.4 miner doesn't help.

If I have an Watchdog error I need to reboot my hole system an normally restart of Claymore never worked for me even from the beginning. Undecided

My watchdog is looking like that:

GPU 4 watchdog is way too high... and I hope you can give me some tipps to solve this.

Am I the only one who has that issue? Huh couldn't find a solution at www.

If you need more information let me know.

appreciate for any help.

PS: approx. 3-4 days ago I could mine over 100 hours in a row and I didn't change anything till then.

It sounds like W10 updated and is messing with it, we are having problems with the 7 cards rigs, since a couple of weeks as a resul of an update, reset your system to a previus date.
We had some space left on some other rigs so took it down to 5.
Thats why we are building no more that 4 cards rigs now.
Should try ti change the GPU4 raiser just in case.

I had deactivated all W10 updates  and all my GPUs can be detected in windows and with claymore.
So I think it should be OK with it... or not?  Huh

I changed the raiser also once ...no effect.

Really strange and frustrating that watchdog issue it doesn't work for longer than 15min  Angry

I've OC all cards the same like that "if its important"

Does anyone have a solution to the first GPU1 not working?  I have swapped out GPUs, but GPU1 never works.  I have reduced to 5 GPUs, 4GPUs...but still GPU1 does not start.

Check WattTool and see if the core clock dropped. If so, hit the set on the core clock table and it should jump back.

I tried it but, the core clock was not low.  Any Other Solutions/Experiences?

Notice GPU1 on the top right (Hardware Monitor)

Really you need to lower the core and or mem of that card, just you aren´t checking the right one.
Claymore says gpu2 has lower hashrate, but monitor says gpu1 have lower Power W
Also check Claymore 2 Says 61°  And your screen of MSI Says 57°
The enumeration is different in different programs

I just started mining ETH and I have two GPUs, RX480.
One of them has a low hash rate while the other has a normal has rate.

This is what I am seeing:
GPU #0: Ellesmere, 4096 MB available, 36 compute units
GPU #1: Ellesmere, 4096 MB available, 36 compute units
ETH - Total Speed: 26.880 Mh/s, Total Shares: 15, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:34
ETH: GPU0 4.307 Mh/s, GPU1 22.572 Mh/s
Incorrect ETH shares: none
Pool switches: ETH - 0, DCR - 0
Current ETH share target: 0x0000000112e0be82 (diff: 4000MH), epoch #125
GPU0 t=50C fan=22%, GPU1 t=72C fan=44%

GPU0 t=49C fan=22%, GPU1 t=73C fan=44%
ETH: 05/25/17-17:45:15 - New job from us2.ethermine.org:4444
ETH - Total Speed: 26.879 Mh/s, Total Shares: 15, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:34
ETH: GPU0 4.308 Mh/s, GPU1 22.571 Mh/s

Why is the one so much slower?
I have my monitor plugged into one of them and I am using risers on both of them.
One is plugged into the PCIEx16 slot while the other is plugged into the PCIEx1. Should they both be in a x16 slot?

Thanks for the help

Cancel that!
I swapped to both PCIEx16 slots and now i'm getting 22.6 Mh/s on both cards. I dont know if that did it or restarting did it. I guess I'll find out more when I buy more GPUs
