Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
Guys.. my GPUs are working on ethermine.org pool, I have 3% of stale shares.

Is that normal? Can I reduce the number of stale shares?

Or that is a problem with the pool? For example: the pool gives the same job for multiple users/workers?

That is normal. I have 2-5% stale.

Thanks. But.. that means 2-5% of my hashrate/GPUs are working for nothing?! That's a very huge number!
Underclock the GPU by a lot and undervolt it as much as possible to be stable. Then overclock the memory and undervolt it too till stable. You should get less then 1% stale this way. The hash rate will be 1-2% lower, but it's better then the 3-4% stales. It'll also use less power and the temperatures will be lower too.

Edit: ^That's about incorrect shares, not stale shares.

Everybody has that kind of rate, so you  are not losing.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Do you actually need a third party software? Just use the one in Windows 10 and restore from usb key... Actually scratch that. As long as your vbioses aren't original/uefi you're screwed anyway! Cheesy

stayed with macrium because ive used it for years. will back up any drive/os. just habit on my part i guess.

But you know what, you did make a valid point. I will back up system images of my miners to my NAS. That's always a good idea in case sh*t hits the fan.

ive been using macrium reflect free for ages to make image backups of miners and regular rigs. cant beat the peace of mind. anything goes poof, restore and youre back up and running in minutes.

Don't bother using the clock settings in this car crash of a software. It is buggy as hell and will only succeed in crashing your system. Trust me I'm speaking from experience. I've been reinstalling Windows for the 4th time now, all due to Claymore messing up clocks on the GPUs and not being able to revert.

Try Acronis!
My rigs are now rock stable, I use Claymore to do what it's intended to do (mining) and nothing else. Set my clock speed in vbios, so no need to run any third party overclocking software either.

Definitely  newbie question but is there any difference in hash rate if u open multiple instances of the claymore client to mine separately with each GPU then to open only one client and mine with all of the GPUs in the same client?
I would like to know that too, hope someone will answer.

Guys, Claymore miner has nothing to do with this issue, it was a win10 update that did this... just look into the Device Manager and see if the cards are ok, not with the yellow triangle (code 43).
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/windows-eth-miner-all-cards-disabled-error-43-1921225

It must be because after updating all my machines with the windows patch, I came home last night to 8 of my miners down and the video drivers uninstalled.  Today I came home to 8 more with the same problem and I was beginning to wonder if I have a virus.  This windows update is a trainwreck if it is the culprit.

I agree. 5 of my rigs went down, had to DDU and reinstall drivers, and 2 went back down today, same issue. Really annoying to have to try to fix remotely while at work.

I am doing the same, make sure you go into your update and security folder and uninstall the update, it seems to keep interfering with the drivers

What update needs removal? I cant get my 6x 580 rig to work for dual mining. This shit pisses me off. I had updates disabled and they still pull this shit.

Edit: This is confusing. I can use the claymore ZEC miner just fine. But on the same rig the dual miner wont even get to the point it produces a log file. It just opens en closes again.

Well I rolled back to 9.2 and now the dual mining is working just fine. Very strange..

ethman v2.9 not showing on browser, i'm only seeing empty tables with black background . . . anyone having this issue ? ethman v2.5 works flawlessly

Yes, however it is a font color issue. Highlight the web app with your mouse and you will see the hidden numbers.

Hi Guys and Gals,

What driver Version for AMD RX 4xx or 5xx are you using?
I cannot get the old 15.12 to run on Win10 1703.
Are the newer Versions fine with you performance and stability wise?

cheers!

Im currently using 16.9.2 as when I use the latest driver changing the clock speeds makes my cards go to 4mhz

Did you resolve this? When i start messing with afterburner, my cards also drop to 4 MH/s. Resetting to default and rebooting seems to help. I am afraid to touch atm.

Does anyone know if Windows Update Blocker ---- http://www.sordum.org/9470/windows-update-blocker-v1-0/ ----- is working after the Windows Creator Update last month? I'm considering trying it to try to reduce our downtime.

hello guys, i have a question, i have 2x 480 saphire nitro 4gb.

The hashrate sometimes drop by 10-20% for a short moment, the hashrate is not stable.

in the readme there is :"KNOWN ISSUES - AMD cards: on some cards you can notice non-constant mining speed in dual mode, sometimes speed becomes a bit slower. This issue was mostly fixed in recent versions, but not completely.", it's the problem here ?

thanks

Im having some weird problems with my WIFI whenever i run clay mores miner. When I am mining, my wifi is only working on my laptop in the same room as my rig and where my router is, but whenever I go to another room the wifi signal drops. If i turn claymore off/stop mining, my wifi is perfectly back to normal...can anyone explain this??

I did read some where that many GPUs together interfere with the WiFi signal, that explains why my rig keeps connecting and disconnecting from a strong signal that never drops.

Not sure if its true but sure explains my problem
