Hello there, i made my first rig, but i have some problems with it. Every 6-7-8 hours it stops working, pool sends me a mail that my rig is not working, i connect through teamviewer and just press S to show what is going on, and miner restarts and continues normally.

This is end of log from claymore miner, and every time i had this message Miner thread hangs, need to restart miner!

I tried different versions of claymore but it just stops working after a while
Same here bro Sad

@luigbren Try using Nicehash's GUI miner or Genoil's miner for ethereum and see if it works. Remember nicehash's ETH only miner uses 2% dev fee.

Is it possible, that with a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ OC 8GB  (1342 MHz) I do not get more than 28.1 MH/s ? And I have uploaded a BIOS with adjusted timing straps (2000)
If I raise the memory from 2000 MHz to some higher values, it has no effect. The miner is showing the same values: 28.1

Look for GPU mining treads to learn how to do it.
Lower gpu clock ( i.e. 1131) and raise voltage as needed . than memory clock will function. And temp has limiting factor.

I am the dev of Pascal Lite,

We are in need of more miners to keep the network more secure and need more miners on PASL Suprnova's pool to keep hashrate distribution equal.

If you switch from PASC to PASL you can currently earn 30% more daily profit

All you need to switch is one line

-dpool stratum+tcp://pasl.suprnova.cc:4316

Thanks in advance

what are the advantages of PASL that makes it better then PASC?

Well for a miners point of view, currently its more profitable to mine.

For a investors point of view, we have some types of technology that PASC doesn't. It would be better to see our thread

Found a real good deal on a Asrock H97 Anniversary and bought it.  Having a problem with it.  The 2nd(16x) and 6th pcie do not recognize the GPUs.  Is there a setting in the Bios that would be able to make the mobo recognize these pcie slots?

You need to force it back to gen2 if I recall correctly.. I used to use them as well and did a bunch of 6 GPU deployments with them but had to force those changes for it to work.

Change the PCIE slot to Gen 1.

I tried Gen 1 with no Avail.  Thanks for the input Xiadas!

For those MB, it will support 6 GPU easily. Have you swapped the cards? If so, maybe those slots are not working.

Thank you for the suggestions.  Not working yet.  It is set to GEN 2.  No effect.

I have 6 MSI RX470 Gaming X GPUs with a 1200W PSU.

Are you using Win 7? I have also 2 of them and with Win 10 are working great since August last year. No need to set it to GEN 2...

Win10 Pro

It should work... are you sure the risers are ok? or for the x16 you don't use riser...

Sometimes the obvious are so hidden!!!  I have been so use to putting risers on them that I did not even think of putting the GPU directly on the x16.

Thank You BogdanCo!

Any idea on how to fix this keeps on happening on 480 cards

WATCHDOG: GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
WATCHDOG: GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
Restarting OK, exit... crashes and have to restart system as claymore wont exit or close

Are you dual mining ETH + DCR?

Single mining and never had this problem until drivers updated but since managed to get working again with custom bios switched to normal mode and then installed drivers and reverted back o silent mode with custom bios on. Took a lot to get working again was getting to point where was about to flash back but the bios and cards can handle 29MH on ETH and close to 300H/s on zec

i had the same issue on dual (eth+pasc) mining.

it was solved after splitting the gpu's power lines (2 gpu were on the same line).

So 480 4g vs 480 8g... Do they mine the extra 20% in worth?

From what I've read and seen other people say, a 4g can get about 28-30 Mh/s, I'm getting 28.5 on my MSI armor 4g. A 8g can get 30-32 Mh/s. I'm not that experience in it yet, but I have 2 8GB's on the way, so I can report back what I find then.

I got RX480 (GB and i havent been able to get them to 30, nor even 28 in stable way. Can you share your methods, please

I am getting 30.1xx mh/s on eth and 3050 mh/s on decred (i think i can get more than that), follow this tutorial http://1stminingrig.com/best-bios-rom-sapphire-nitro-rx-480-8gb-oc-mine-ethereum-30-mhs/

As for the RX470 i am getting 29.8xx - 29.9xx mh/s on dual ethereum, still playing with the settings, i think i can squeeze a bit more than that

Both cards have Samsung memory..

Thank you @ciprianpt do you know if this bios will work on red devils rx480 8gb? does it produces memory errors?

No idea if that would work with that because this is from a sapphire nitro+ oc with samsung memory.. try to compare the roms and do the same modifications on yours..

Hi there. I have a rig of 4 RX 470 with Claymore 8.1 miner running on Win10.

From time to time I'm getting error "Miner thread hangs, need to restart miner!". And the sad part is that it's not restarting until I press something on keyboard.
VBios isn't modified, Core clock/Mem clock: 1100/2100. Part of log is bellow.

What can it be?
