Going stealthy
I have a problem, claymore's miner show on my rig doing around 2070h/s, but on dwarfpool show my rig doing around 2800h/s, so which one is right?

I wish I had your problems Cheesy
But seriously check the hashrate over a longer period, like 24h at least.

More hashrate more problem  Cheesy

I just started with two 7950's and they both start out strong around 200 sol/s but then GPU0 drops to around 150 sol/s.  I'm pretty sure GPU0 is the one connected to a monitor.  I tried disconnecting it and plugging a dummy plug into GPU 1 and none of that seemed to help.

I've had clocks at 1050/1500 and various combinations of cclock while leaving memclock at 1500

I've tried a few different -i settings.

I also tried changing voltage settings based on some previous thread inputs: -cvddc 1140 -mvddc 1150  Again, it started strong around 200 sol/s on GPU 0 but then gradually decreased back to the 150 sol/s range.

I don't think my bios supports vddc changes.  I can see the clocks changing but not the volts.

Both GPU temps are at 55C

Any ideas on how to keep GPU 0 up around 200 sol/s?

Try to set -powlim 20

I tried that earlier with -powlim 10 and it was crashing.  I'm trying again now with -powlim 20 and it's not crashing... yet.  I'll watch it for a bit and update if it is working.  Thank you.

Edit: It seems to be working now I'll just update here rather than make another post...

My computer started freezing again with -powlim 20 and 1050/1500 clocks set.  Here's what I did after that:  uninstalled Radeon Settings and Microsoft Onedrive.  I also removed everything from startup except my bat file to start the miner.  After that, I removed the cclock and mclock settings and only left the -powlim 20 setting.  It has been running for about 15 minutes now around 200 sol/s each GPU.  I think that Radeon Settings program may have been the culprit or it could be something altogether and it will start failing again.  For now it's working.

Another weird thing is that the clock settings reverted to 1050/1500 as shown in GPU-Z even though i removed that from the bat file.  Oh well, I hope it hold up.  Thanks again for your support grand96.  Hopefully I'm not back in a few hours with another crash report ><

Another Edit:  I'll just edit this since no one replied to it... I don't like replying to my own post...

Sooo... It failed again.  I tried running it again at -powlim 20 and it failed immediately.  I don't understand why it would run for hours and then fail like this.  I tried lowering the -powlim value to 18 and that was no help.  I tried upping it to 25 and it is now running again but it keeps posting an error message, "Failed to set new Power Control treshold (sic) for GPU #0" and likewise for GPU1.  But... it does seem to be working again.  My temps are on the rise it seems, 55/61 Celsius now.

9.2 isn't stable like old releases for all systems. Mostly it fails in 6 X vga rigs. I updated from 9.0 to 9.2 and I always got gpu0 hangs.
Strange, for me it is more stable than 9.1 or 9.0 ( 6x 480s - modified for ETH but @ 1200/1950 )...
I have 3 rigs wwith 6 X 8gb 470 nitro. All give same error ''gpu0 hangs'' after miner starts in a few minutes. This is the same in my friend 6 X rigs But there is no problem in rigs which have less then 6 gpu. And also I must say that with 9.0 all rigs are stable.

Might want to check your PSU.  If you are over 80%, you may want to increase the PSU size.  This worked for me when I had the same issues.

instead reducing power limit to -30 worked for me without lossing too much hash
Didn't think of that, since I just undervolt on Polaris.  It should reduce the power spikes, which would help out.  Power spikes are very short, so shouldn't slow much.

That solution will not work if you have a user password. Unfortunately I'm stuck in that situation on one rig(windows isn't registered so it won't let me remove the password) and I have to teamviewer in, which gets windows to the desktop, so the .bat in startfolder loads Sad

EDIT: After posting my reply I reread and noticed a slight difference. I have my shortcut in shell:startup, not shell:common startup. I see that using common startup is in the ProgramData tree, instead of the AppData tree. So I'll have to test it.

You can also try to create new Windows user account w/o password and delete old account. It must be possible even on non-activated OS.

Miners developer
I m reading every single comment in the thread and i also read yout post 40 day ago.

NVidia: if I release miner for NVidia, these haters will again say that I stole SA engine. So there will not be NVidia version.
I think other devs will create public miners with similar speed for Linux and NVidia soon.

But this doesnt matter, if you think this is ok so keep doing it. No one can tell you what to do or what not its your choice.

You forgot to quote this:
Quote
It's not about money, there are several reasons why I'm not going to release ZCash miner for Linux in near future - most of haters who say that I stole SA engine are on Linux so let's they use some different miner. Also I don't like to see as someone applies IDA to my miner to see how it works. Also I don't like Linux, it's a pain for me.

So you can see that I did not say that I will never release Linux version again, I only said I won't do it "in near future" and it was >40 days ago.
Though I clearly mentioned that there will not be Nvidia version.

Hahahahaha linux version. Before saying he will never suport linux because he dont like the linux haters and now what? I cant stop laughing for real.  Well finaly the money is more important than the dignity. Happy holidays  xdd

Here is my original message (>40 days ago), please read it carefully: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16836757
Key word is "near future".

anyone know what this means

20:18:10:261   904   Frontend phase failed compilation.
Error: Compilation from LLVMIR binary to IL text failed!
20:18:10:261   904   16x binary failed, try 15x

cheers

This is not critical error, so don't worry. Miner tries different binaries to select the best, if you use 15.x drivers then attempt to load 16.x binary will cause this message.

All psus that connected the rigs are more powerfull then systems need. This isn't psu related. I think last optimization isn't stable in all systems. This is the first time that I live such a problem.
by the ay all are working with 9.0 now
I had a same error with 9.2. switched back to 9.1 now. My rig hang after ~24 hours.
It can be unstable on some PSUs under low load if they have poor ripple suppression. you can also try reducing intensity, or lowering clocks.  I run all on -i 8, but some people have to run lower intensity.
I think evga 1300 g2 is enough
Are bioses moded? 1300G2 is enough. What clocks?

First DJ to play gigs for Bitcoin & Crypto Guru
With 9.2 - 370 h/s. Thats cool.
Only one question remains - how? All is stock.

Most of shares will be rejected: GPU does not work properly. It must be drivers if you use stock clocks, try different drivers. In next update I will improve compatibility.

Thanks Claymore for everything and wishing u a great Xmas (if u celebrate it!)

lol next post after this quote was asking for ETA of next update..... wait till next year and give the programmer a break !!!!
