I asked why on awesome miners post and got this

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17269120

For some reason my rx 470 rigs are shutting down/restarting with 9.2, it didn't happen with 9.1
I still have to run some tests to see if it's power consumption, but it doesn't happen mining ethereum only, so power draw with this version may be higher than ethereum mining, may be?
I still have to test with a different 470 model, i'm currently mining with nitro+ rx 470 8gb, i have a bunch of gigabyte g1gaming 470 4gb to test to check if there's something related to this.
It's working flawlessly with my r9 390/290 rigs

Too bad i can't overvolt 470's in linux, has anybody found a way/util to work on it? i know it's possible but i haven't found any simple tool to do it.

Best regards!

It was indeed power consumption, stock speeds still had resets/poweroffs, undervolted the cards and everything runs fine now.

I have gone back to 9.1 with all of my RX 470s.  9.2 is too unstable and causes resets.

Are you sure it isn't the power consumption that is overloading the psu's?
After i downvolted the 470's it stopped messing around and seems to be pretty stable now.

Best regards!

@claymore

Ty you for your work! Best mining software in cryptoworld!

@all

What drivers are you using for RX Series and Win10?

Time to time one of my card got error in device manager, and miner doesn't recognize it... or i got some other problem, not by drivers?
16.9.x to 16.11.x, other drivers check bios signature, resulting in error 43 in device manager.  Only issue for modded bios though.

Hello xeridea!

I've seen your post here and got a question.

I used to use Claymore app 9.1 with 2 x ASUS STRIX R9 380X 4 GB OC on a Win 7 Enterprise with Crimson 15.12.
Recently I replaced the cards for two Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 4 GB and installed the Crimson 16.12, but everything failed.

Now, I'm seeing some users telling that can mine using RX 470, but I'm feeling lost about what Crimson version should I use, if I can keep Windows 7 or upgrade to Win 10...

Could you please tell me what would be the best setup for my RX 470 card, what Crimson version and OS?

A big thanks in advance!
Lpareal
Any driver before the 16.12 should work, unless bios mods, then must be 16.9 - 16.11.  16.12 is reported to be ~5% slower, I haven't used it.

I have various rigs with various 470/480s (mostly sapphire), some win7, some win10, various drivers, most cards have bios mods (only memory strap).  As far as I can tell, OS doesn't matter, just don't use new 16.12 driver.

My Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 4 GB get ~210-215, stock bios slightly lower.

I think, that Claymore can stop develop new version of miner. This h|s is ok. Yeap?

If he still getting developer fee then he should still develop more

I have tried linux version.
Windows version is 10% better in RX 480's

Windows I get average 253 H/s totaling around 1520 H/s on a x6 rig
Linux I get average 220 H/s totaling around 1320 H/s

Still Claymore's Linux version is faster than Optiminer

Is any effect of -i parameter on RX 480 hash rate?

How many hashes with -i 6 and -i 8?

What error is this?
DevFee: failed to mine for a long time, something is wrong, stop mining and reconnect.
15:15:18:540   a40   Reconnect in 30 sec...

This is happening all the time and for mining

You might mine in a pool does not support the dev mining.
