I think the real difference, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong; is that with Dark anon you can't hide that you've made a transaction or the amount you're sending, you can only hide the destination address. Monero/ShadowCash are more complete in this regard, you can completely hide that you've even made a transaction.

It's not the problem, the anonymization require a 3RD party app, so it's not end to end.

XMR / SDC don't need something more, from wallet to wallet, it's all anon.

I suppose it depends on the person making the claim. It's unclear to me at least how serious Evil-Knievel is. The amber alert is precautionary in this context I suppose. Anyway Friday midnight should be enough time for him to deliver something or not.
