Is there a reason why I can't scrypt mine on Digihash.co anymore?

Cheers  Smiley

It's not just you - as you can see from other posts about payouts.  Scrypt has been totally down since sometime yesterday.  Things just probably need a reset.  I really like mining in the official pool and I'm sure it'll all get sorted out pretty quick.

I like the $1-$10 long term price target. Makes it attainable for the average joe in the future. People are so caught up by BTC that they don't realize that other cryptos are just as sound and have enhancements to make them more secure and reliable.

But, such is life. The general populace is always behind by a few years. That being said, if DGB does get to $1, and places start accepting digital coins, I would love to buy things with DGB. I think it would be great.

Just look at my signature brother.

BTW why is digibyte disabled on bittrex currently? Did I miss something?

I have finished reading through pages 1-219 on this thread.  I am currently researching Digibyte for the upcoming book:

DigiByte Book Proposal
[/size]

Title:                        DIGIBYTE “THE ALT-ERNATIVE” A FIRST YEAR HISTORY
Pages:         100-150
Genre:         Historical
Format:              Paperback
Estimated release:   Summer 2015

Work has already begun on researching this publication.  The main objective is to write a history of the first year in as much detail as possible.  It will cover major and minor events of DigiByte on a month to month basis.  Each chapter (month of the year) will be titled with the main event of that month in addition to five main events/points.  There will be chapters before these which describe DigiByte as a cryptocurrency, its initial block reward distribution table and coin specification.  Further pages will be added as time progresses.

Please could the DigiByte community get behind this project by fund raising or promotion.  I am fully devoted in my spare time to make this book, as well as others, a reality.

Thank you

Great work! Thank you very much!

Here's some possible material to use as a jumping off point for voiceovers, written materials, etc., that was derived from a brainstorming session looking for catch phrases to build various material around. My hope is that the brainstorming doesn't stop here.

---------------------------------------o---------------------------------------

Why DigiByte?

It’s clear that the future is 'cryptographic', as in cryptographic digital currency, and while it may be clear to some that DigiByte is a clear winner, others may still be asking why they should choose DigiByte instead of some other, first generation, digital currency.

#1 Safety

DigiByte, a cryptographic digital currency, is 5 times more secure than first generation digital currencies since it combines the use of five of the most advanced, most secure, cryptographic algorithms currently known to mankind. While there are close equivalents, there simply is no other form of monetary exchange that is safer to use.

#2 Fast and Easy

DigiByte is also THE leader in transaction speed, ease of use, and low cost fee structure. With the simple selection of a receiving address and the click of a button, DigiBytes can be sent from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the world with practically zero transaction fees and a super low, 3 minute, confirmation and verification time. There is simply no other cryptographic digital currency that matches up.

#3 Independence

All this is independent of the traditional banking system, – it is all done person-to-person – and that, of course, is how transactions speeds and next-to-nothing transaction fees are achieved. What’s more, your money is even safer since it is you, and nobody else, who guards and manages your own money.

#4 The Future Is Here Today

Get started today by downloading your free DigiByte wallet from www.digibyte.co and then acquiring a small amount of DGB to begin familiarizing yourself with this promising new financial future. You can find of wealth of information from corporate offerings and news at www.digibyte.co , to community camaraderie at www.bitcointalk.org , to fantastic FAQ step-by-step instructions at www.asistec-ti.com that will make your getting up-to-speed the easiest and most enjoyable experience you ever imagined possible.

Why wait any longer to get started with this revolutionary way of managing your wealth? The future is here, and it’s only up to you to start participating.

I suspect DigiByte, like  time and tide will wait for no man but if you are reading this close to when it was posted, you don't have to worry about that.

Supported currencies are:

Cheers.

So cool! I had a website like that for a while (with all currencies, which people could automatically convert to USD/EUR/etc). Your site  looks way better  Grin
Are you caching the values somewhere, of are you pulling the data out of the API's with each refresh?

Thanks mate! The values are being grabbed from the exchanges API with every refresh so the data is up to date. I'll be adding a few more features and currencies (eg BTC) soon and once thats done I'll buy a domain and host it there.

I’d quite like to see a ticker for a “Mega Digi” in international currencies, perhaps as a banner or something but I like this.

I believe that could work - and relatively simple.

Requires a tailored sim card and printing/distribution of the DGB load scratch cards

and a telecom carrier in each country willing to support the DGB network (but better integrated into normal network of a main carrier)

You are 100% correct IMO

Just be aware though that you need SMS transaction capability in Africa (and also Asia not to forget South America) to cover the unbanked population effectively.

Most of the unbanked don't have smartphones.  They mostly have cheap and simple phones with SMS being the main function - no data capability.

sending needs to be simply a text

SEND +639098176154 1000000 DGB

The simple SMS wallet and network solution is a centralised one - perhaps run by Digibyte.  This has the inherent risks involved with any centralisation.  The decentralised solution is very complicated.

I came across these 2 news items.
http://cointelegraph.com/news/113716/online-bitcoin-trading-takes-root-in-africa
https://twitter.com/ice3x

http://www.newswire.com/press-release/a-new-digital-banking-platform-in-nigeria-is-soon-to-be-launched
https://twitter.com/BitStake

I really think that Digibyte is primed to enter this area. Allot of unbanked and the exchange rates right now are crazy high.
What do you guys think?
So what would be perfect is:
Buy a simcard with Digibytes on it.
Pay your text message/phonecalls with Digibyte.
Pay everything with sending Digibytes using the sms network.
Send Digibytes from phone to phone with sms.
Add new Digibytes by buying,,, i just say something like a scratchcard filled with Digibytes.
