In my opinion over almost every altcoin in this market is useless and not worth it to be used as Bitcoin can do all the work which they can do. But there are few coins which are required, because at some part bitcoin is not able to be used in those places so those coins are made for that purpose.
And how? of course they are needed! The more coins in cryptology, the more interesting to us all!
Why not?mean of course A currency that used to be absolutely useless in our opinion, the alt is now a steep and constantly used
Yes do we need altcoin. It is popular coin in this forum's, altcoin token are much useable fiat currencies that has valuable. Most of the project are paid of this kind of profit, altcoin is one that can give as more profit.
I think we need altcoins more then ever before. And if you look at the market now, theres not one coin arround who would be useable as daily payment method. Everybody is just creating a coin like bitcoin to make money. But no one is creating a coin who can be used as daily payment method. And there are so many project who need an own coin. The most projects on ethereum networks has a real use case and that why the token of them are so valuable.
Altcoins allow for the growth of blockchain technology. I believe there are differences in the technology behind Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum, and Iota. People can hate on ripple because it is so centralized...but Ripple just went on the Donors Choose website and funded every teachers projects, millions of dollars of projects. I am surprised that the price didn't bump. But I digress....I am not a techie but I am very interested in the Tangle that processes transactions without the high payments of the bitcoin blockchain. I am not sure how secure it is versus bitcoin blockchain or ERC-20 token technology. I would be interested if someone could talk about that.

The answer is YES we need alt coins, but we do not need more than we already have, just choose the right and popular coins that its value is good in present or in the future.
From my point of view, yes we need another Altcoin because many people are involved in cryptocurrency, because, altcoin is just like an alternative way to gain profit in trading. it also makes the world of cryptocurrency to be balanced, if there is no altcoin, maybe crypto will end. And Also, we should be more experimental to find other new things like altcoin, when it comes to investment and in cryptocurrency world.
Look into the coins. Research, and you'll see the coins draw investors because of a particular set of features or unique utility. Asking why we "need" all of the coins is like asking, if you were an investor in the dotcom boom, why we needed Gmail when we had AOL.
Aside from Bitcoin we also need the altcoins. It's the same with other products that we are backing up. We need our favorite product but we also need the others. It's wise to have different source of income to avoid huge loses. We may lose from a number of them but may earn from the others.

I think we don't need it, we just have enough bitcoin. Yes for me we need also atlcoin because if you are not earning in Bitcoin. Altcoin is an additional way or alternative way on how you can earn tokens in simplest way.

I see the development began to increase Altcoin give its own charm. but for the new Altcoin, I have not wanted. because I still want to try Altcoin that already exists today. because with the presence of the new Altcoin became the beginning of adaptation again. The most innovative ways on how to become useful the blockchain technology is at the hands of altcoins. Some projects made are helpful in our community not just in a form of currency but in terms of public welfare and science discoveries. There are mysteries unfold by altcoins. A lot of improvements did by many altcoins aside from ethereum. 
Most altcoins do not carry absolutely any idea. Everything is done for the profit of developers. Only a few coins can be said that they are useful and will be used in the future
Yes, other than Bitcoin. We also need altcoin because that project is so interesting many people also interested in altcoin. Atlcoin is also best project in bitcoin industry.

Competition is a good thing for this business. The more communities the higher the market valuation will be. New innovations will be born. Not all coins will survive but we need competition to grow the market 
So many options altcoin that can be promising for the long term. but indeed I prefer some altcoin which when viewed in coinmarketcap become the 10 largest of them.
YES. I think we need the king of altcoin and that is ETHEREUM. Simply holding Bitcoin forks like Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold doesn't fulfill the need of altcoins. I think at least holding Ethereum is also necessary, for no. of reasons, Ethereum have it's own blockchain. Ethereum is the most sophisticated cryptocurrency, highly demanded and many ICOs using Ethereum blockchain to launch altcoins. I think Ethereum should be included in every portfolio.
