The market is still struggling to recover and when it does Bitcoin will still have an insurmountable lead yet more innovation may enter which could allow some to catchup eventually

Altcoins that are better than bitcoin in several ways?
I don't think that there are altcoins like that. If they are better than bitcoin then it will reflect to their market cap and their price are going to be higher than bitcoin calculating their supply limit and demand. But I haven't seen any big altcoin that can compete bitcoin that way.

All the coins evolve and bitcoin, too. Of course it also has its problems, but if it will fix it, it will stay in first place. But altcoins will also be actively developed and perhaps some of them will be able to compete with bitcoin itself.
Yes in 3 or 4 years i believe some altcoins will be a big competitor to bitcoin. Because in crypto market we have very good altcoins like ethereum and the others . I believe with time these altcoins will be more stronger than before and also some investors start to choose altcoins rather than btc in the future.

No way as we know bitcoin is the base of all cryptocurrency and at this moment bitcoin dominating the market over 53%. Even altcoin price depends on bitcoin price movements. So there is no chance for altcoin to be a big competitor with bitcoin because of bitcoin itself its competitor.

I don't think altcoins will dominate in the future and grab the leading positions unless bitcoin will get out of the market. Bitcoin is like a father of the crypto and will always be the strongest one. At the moment I don't see at the crypto market a strong competitor to bitcoin. Maybe in the future some day.

Since the cryptocurrency is constantly and rapidly developing, and there are more than a thousand altcoins, it is logical to assume that in the future the level of capitalization between the coins will level off and there will be many candidates for leadership, about a dozen and they will often change each other, as now sometimes ethereum and ripple change each other . In such a situation of price domination, I think it will not. I believe that such competition will positively affect the cryptocurrency market. 
I think this will not happen. Altcoins will never be a competitor for bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the king of all coins, which has already gained fame and trust in the crypto world. And due to this fame and faith, Bitcoin will remain till the end. On the other hand, most of the altcoins are losing their trust due to scams.
I agree. If any altcoin could beat BTC, it would have already done it by now. It's a shame that altcoins are scamming people, but the market clears off them and soon only good coins will remain.
Personally, I think that Alt-Coins will never be as popular as Bitcoin, for Bitcoin the future.
Most times, when I see questions like this, I wonder if people understand that bitcoin is like the king here and altcoins are basically more like the followers, and in this case, the fact that altcoins are numerous in number and bitcoin is just one, makes the idea of having a stiff competition even between the altcoins to be huge, let alone, being able to compete with bitcoin. Bitcoin do not see altcoin as a threat, but altcoin will always see each other as threats, as there are so many clones, which in the end only one will manage to thrive as the market gets more matured.
They will be a great competitor, but not during the next years. Just look at the market dominance and you won't have any more questions. It is obvious that the majority of investors are in bitcoin now and I hope this would change soon.

You are right in future anything can happen but now bitcoin has the majority and dominance across the world. People need a change everywhere as they hope it will bring joy to them. Same applies here as they will expect a good profit if altcoins rule the world.
I personally think that Bitcoin and Ark are two different cryptocurrencies. Although many coins are imitating bitcoin, they have something that cannot be imitated, that is, bitcoin is not subject to any personal or team control!

I think not for another while. I think it will needs to be a long time before any altcoin actually rivals bitcoin, even ethereum that actually got really close to beating bitcoin at the height of the ICO frenzy can be seen very low right now even lower than ripple at times dropping to third.Now, if you think about it even ethereum that got so much craze for it and increased in price insanely during the ICO frenzy where people funded ICO projects at hundreds of millions of dollars, bitcoin was still above it and did not dropped as much as ethereum. This tells me there needs to be a time when bitcoin actually fails itself before any other coin makes it to top.
Basically bitcoin will not be passed by some other coin because that coin is amazing, bitcoin will be passed by some other because it will do something bad itself and decrease in price while others go up, the only thing that can destroy bitcoin is itself at this point.

Haven't you see the market on where it is depending, its bitcoin. Yes, ethereum smart contract can create a lot of erc20 tokens but don't miss on what coin has the biggest contribution.

well so far, the other altcoins were competing well with bitcoin, but still they cannot surpass bitcoin and i dont think they're gonna make it though in the future because bitcoin is also the future currency in both crypto and fiat.

i don't think so. bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency. this is the most trusted crypto in the world. the usage is accepted in some companies as the payment method. as the technology and its advances, yeah probably the altcoins can compete with the btc, but seen from the value, bts has higher than them.
