Ripple has great potential in the future, as long as the market conditions are sustainable and the project runs smoothly and crypto continues to grow, I think Ripple will be able to compete with Bitocoin,
but it is still very far because for a long time Bitcoin will continue to dominate the market and Ripple still needs time to develop the project and that's not a little.

The situation may change if one of the altcoins will be able to overtake bitcoin by capitalization, but this is not expected in the near future

I dont think so, no altcoins will never be the competitor to bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the first crypto and it will always on the top. The value of bitcoi will always be the highest than altcoins. Eventhough there are some strongest coins available in the market. But individually it is good but when compare to altcoin always bitxoin will be the leading in cryptocurrency.

If BTC is going to have a price of more than $50k, less and less people will try to sell it which will make way for the altcoins to be spent more by users.  It could be ETH or EOS that may be use to pay products when adoption came. XRP is aggressive in proving to be on the way to adoption, if what they claim will come then it may be the first to be used casually.

It's not a bad thing. People don't have to be selling it, they have to be able to exchange their coins for goods and services. Exchanges and volatility are a thing because it's still difficult to spend your coins without having to go through fiat money first.
People don't want to hold their coins forever. The ultimate goal of every currency is to buy things.

maybe yes, but to beat bitcoin doesn't seem to be. altcoin can only compete without ever being able to win. if we see maybe the altcoin that is closest to bitcoin is ethereum, but now ethereum is falling.

I think that now is the time to start investing in cryptocurrencies and it does not matter altcoins or tokens, the main thing that the projects were good and promising in the cryptocurrency market.

I agree that altcoins can be a good competitor for bitcoin. Though we still can’t say if altcoins can dominate bitcoin, I think it’s too early for altcoins to be on the top spot. I believe that if crypto matures, then altcoins can probably grow like bitcoin or can become a tight competitor.

Bitcoin dominance in the crypto market almost 51% right now. If bitcoin price will go to the moon again then this dominance percentage may increase! But we have many options in altcoins, and many altcoins are better than bitcoin in several ways! Do you think, in future, Altcoins will dominate the crypto market? Or will it be a strong competitor to bitcoin?
I do not think it's enough to defeat Bitcoin and have the same impact as Bitcoin. Currently in terms of technology, Bitcoin is in 13th place in total altcoins now. But its volume is still high and its value is still the highest. Bitcoin has a hidden power that no altcoin can take its place.

Bitcoin already has a strong foundation seen from the dominance of Bitcoin that is so large in cryptocurrency, so I don't think there is an altcoin that will be a competitor of Bitcoin in the next few years. Ethereum and Ripple who have second and third place in CoinMarketCap have a large dominance gap compared to Bitcoin.  So what makes more sense is to compare between altcoins and not compared to Bitcoin.

bitcoin dominance has now reached 53% and may still continue to rise when there is a bull run, and altcoin also seems to be slowly following the increase in bitcoin prices

Not each of them, but major part yes.
Altcoins have something different from bitcoin, so it can compete with it
Have uniqueness but somehow useless when it comes to attracting people, rest assured, most of people who use bitcoin are for mean of financial purpose and there's no need of ultra huge blockchain and something fancy when there's nothing needs a fixing.

Functionally, many altcoins that have features are better than bitcoin, such as a transaction process that is faster than bitcoin so it can be used as a payment system and there is no doubt for the merchant to accept it. But bitcoin is one of the cryptocurrency that has a large community, so as in terms of price I am not sure there is an altcoin that will exceed the price of bitcoin. Pump and dump is the worst factor that always exists in the altcoin, so that every investor will be more careful to keep the altcoins they have.

I do not think that altcoins will ever be able to compete with bitcoin. Most altcoins is a Frank Scam that does not carry any technology they only clutter up the market which is already too overloaded with all sorts of shit. Bitcoin is the only thing you need to invest in in the long term

I doubt very much that altcoins will make the competition of bitcoin. Bitcoin has a long history,a large community, miners, manufacturers of ASICs, it is a large and profitable business.Hardly the balance of power will ever change. And if something bad happens to bitcoin, it can cause a collapse in the entire crypto market.

No one has the exact answer for this as market is diplomatic. I agree BTC is a strong coin in the world anything can happen in future as ETH gave toughest fight to BTC last year. Bitcoin dominance is more comparing to other Alts. Lets wait and see.

I don't think altcoins will become competitor to bitcoin. Bitcoin is like gold and altcoins are like currencies. Gold is good for holding and currencies are used for trading. So instead of becoming competitors, I think altcoins will become bitcoin's partner.
more like a system? both of which cannot be eliminated ... both of them have their own interests but in the form of valuation bitcoin remains superior to altcoin. I think more like the main maker who always excels then the competitors who are always under ...

Bitcoin is the most stable coin at the market right now and I hope this would change in the nearest future. I believe in altcoins and think that they are technically better than Bitcoin and should overcome it within the next few years.

it might happen, bitcoin can be competitive, even though it is hard for now, maybe in the future there will be altcoins that can dominate other than bitcoin in the crypto market, but it doesn't close the possibility of bitcoin will remain the most expensive coin ever

I don' think so. Bitcoin will stay strong on the top and might not be replace by altcoins. The life span of altcoins are mostly a few months. Some even a few years. But, it will die. Not unlike Bitcoin. Which is going strong even today.
