I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?

On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?
Addicted gamblers do win from time to time, however their wins cannot offset the losses they suffer, so even if they won a huge jackpot that put them ahead by a significant margin, in order for them to keep this money they will need to stop gambling, and it is obvious that an addicted person will have huge problems doing this, so eventually they will lose all of that money and they could develop and even stronger addiction, since now they want to recover all of that money they lost and they are willing to use a lot of money to do so.

Most people only gamble as a hobby so winning or losing isn’t vital to them surviving, it’s just for fun.

People who have a problem with excessive gambling probably lose more than they win but on the flip side, tgere are professional gamblers who win more than they lose.

I will tell you one thing though, you never see a broke bookie.

Addicted gamblers win, the concept of addiction isn't about them losing all the time but the lack of control and ability to resist gambling urges most at times ia the problem. We must understand psychological Dopamine rush while gambling is high in essence the brain seeks such every time which is the primary problem. I'm gambling there is always a win and loss, such that the odds of winning is less compared to losses and gambling is not programmed either for gamblers to win.

Yes but one of the reasons why an addicted gambler always loses control is because the initial symptom is that they are always unable to accept the fact of losing, and also when they win they are also always difficult to stop the game and this happens because they cannot ignore the greed that is in them so it is only natural that addicted gamblers are always faced with downturns such as experiencing a significant number of losses, and I would say that it is natural for them to experience because after all it is all due to their wrong treatment of gambling activities where they prioritize activities that should be made as nothing more than a place of entertainment.

And yes an addicted gambler always wants great results or significant wins continuously which can really trigger a burst of exciting dopamine but the problem is that they forget that gambling is not only about the chances of winning but the possibility of losing will always be a part that can never be separated, and it is a fact that after all gambling is about winning and losing, there is no way that can increase the chances except luck, and this is why we are always advised to be careful and also limit expectations on winning.

Actually in as much as becoming a gambling addict is bad doesn't mean that they don't win a bet at all, on the contrary they always win there bet most times but one of things that distinguishes them from normal gamblers is there mindset and the inability to control there emotions when it comes to gambling, so actually you are right on the question because the way they talk about gambling addict if you have not actually seen someone who is an addict you would hardly believe that they win there bet sometimes.

One of the reasons they always emphasize on gambling addict here is because is something nobody would ever wished for himself because gambling addict always sees  gambling as an easy way for them to become rich that's why whenever they bet they make sure they stake with almost everything they have so that when they win it will be huge but in most cases they always end up losing everything and they don't no when to stop.

The problem with gambling addiction is not that it exposes the person to successive losses, but rather because the pattern of gambling practice as a behavioral habit becomes dangerous over and over again. This means that if anyone practices the same habit (assuming it is not a harmful habit) at the same accumulated frequency, he will fall into what psychology calls “behavioral addiction.”

Behavioral addiction is one of the most dangerous types of addiction, even if it does not expose its owner to material losses. The harms of addiction are not limited only to financial losses, but go beyond it to become a psychological habit that harms the behavior and psychological character of the person and affects all aspects of his life.

I think you meant to say excessive losses. And of course excessive losses is the most consequences for gambling addiction. Because what is the purpose of gambling? If for fun then there is no problem but when it is to make money or double the money we have then it becomes a big problem. There is only one way to be successful at gambling and which is to control the level of risk we take. Which we all know that it is difficult to have risk management since one is addicted.

To cut it short if a gambler can eradicate gambling addiction then he will be successful in gambling, there are no two ways to go about it.
However, from my observations I think only losing can not make a gambler to because addicted, they win and they also lose, and that's how gamble works. Let's say I am addicted to gamble, and I am losing everytime I bet from the starting of the this year and I haven't win anything from my bet, I won't wait for someone to tell me to quite because I am not winning, I will sadly quite gamble because I haven't win anything and that's because I am not gambling for fun im anyway. Am just saying that what makes people to become addicted is when they are winning and losing at the same time. A gambler that's not losing will take gamble go be an investment but ones the loosing starts I doubt that that person will still take gamble go be an investment or a side hustle. Addicted gamblers don't only lose, they win and they lose and that's what makes them to be addicted.

Gambling addiction makes most people to condemn gamblers because of the kind of things most addicted gamblers are doing lately. Addictions makes people to feel bad about the behaviors of gamblers, mostly no body would like to be a friend to addicted gambler because it might influence them in future if they are not careful. It's never advised to gamble with ones money but no doubt that addicted gamblers will always gamble with someone's money and they will still go an extra miles to borrow and gamble.

I agree with you that this is society's view of a gambling addict. His look is a mixture of contempt and pity.
Unfortunately, society's outlook is always harsh because it is based on rigid concepts linked to inherited morals and morals that were established over centuries.
But what I meant in my previous answer is that all types of addiction are pathological conditions, and unfortunately society rejects them according to its moral standards, and in some societies these patients are excluded according to legal texts or religious legislation. An addict is a person in a state of illness and must be dealt with on this basis, especially since in cases of psychiatry, the patient does not accept the idea that he is sick, and even if he accepts this, it is never easy for him to deal with treatments.

Addicted gamblers lose more than a normal gambler because they don't think beyond gambling. Always, their minds will be thinking about gambling. This can be mostly due to the losses they've experienced in the past. The urge to recover what they've lost keeps them from continuing to gamble. Here, very few turn out successful, whereas the majority ends up losing more and more.

When a person have some plans for making money or recovering lost money, they're kind of pressurized. This won't make them gamble as freely as a gambler who considers it fun.

That's true, with those who are addicted of course they won't think about anything else, it's unlikely they'll be able to stop themselves from gambling. because I once heard from someone who was seriously addicted to gambling. he always wanted to continue gambling even though his financial situation was a mess, he even said he couldn't stop himself from gambling, even for just one day he couldn't stop it. It's true what you say, maybe it's because of the urge to get back what they've lost that they continue gambling even though it ends in losses and defeats. Of course, losing more money is something that is bound to happen and is experienced by those who are addicted to gambling.

with gamblers whose goal is to make money of course they will not be able to stay calm when gambling, the losses that will occur will make them experience pressure and if they continue to gamble with losses that will occur more often it can make them experience pressure which is excessive and can make them stressed, in contrast to those who gamble for fun, it is likely that they will not gamble continuously, especially when they have lost, because I think those who gamble for fun can still control himself even though the chance of addiction still exists.

No, it doesn't mean they lose all the time. But it's not the point, because regardless of they win or lose, an addicted gambler will still continue what they used to since it's already hard to stop. So it's not about winning or losing, because they're just like a normal gambler. The difference is, they're already out of control so they lose more for not having contentment and can play long hours to feed their addiction.

The sad reality is that winning is not important for them but instead, to keep their addiction as long as they can still perform.
Yes, they win today and even tomorrow but suffer losses in the following days. But it was not a big deal for them because what makes them more happy is to stay gambling.

Of course, I won't say all gamblers have that kind of mindset and gambling habits. There are just some and we know the ending story if we become a irresponsible gambler, winning won't and never give us satisfaction.

Absolutely the right opinion. Psychologists say that avid problem gamblers don't worry about winning, they only want to get emotions. Namely, the emotions of anticipation that now all business will be put on pause, and the casino, or slots, or any other gambling games will be launched. It is anticipation that ludoman is chasing.
Money is so devalued for him that they are a way to play on. And this is a terrible endless cycle that can only be stopped by treatment and acceptance that the gambler is addicted.

It's impossible to only lose money all the time. It's just mathematically impossible. I remember one dice challenge, where, according to the conditions, you should have lost your bet six times in a row with a 66% win chance. I completed the challenge, but it wasn't an easy task, I must say. I had to endure so many unwanted wins along the way!

So, no, no one is bound to losses upon losses. Sometimes you win.

That's how they end up since they will not became an addicted gambler if they can control theirselves. Also if they came into that situation then for sure that they do a lot of excessive things and that includes losing a lot of money since they can't control theirselves and doesn't have any risk management towards their money spent on their gambling session.

So for those cases its really important to know our limitation and always have proper  assessment on the situation since if they create some sort of proper planning then stick with it, then for sure they will not came into this bad situation and can able to continue their activities without experiencing difficulties on their actions since they are fine and in total control on their gambling activities. Addiction is avoidable and people who want to gamble just need to have proper reality checking on everything they see so that they can avoid getting into this situation.

Of course not. Those who are addicted to gambling can also win. But we don't know when they will win or lose. It happens to us and other people too.

No one knows who will win in the next round. We also don't know when we will win or lose. Those who are addicted to gambling will find it difficult to control themselves when gambling.

They are the ones who can experience more losses than other people. Experiencing a gambling addiction makes it difficult for them to stop. There is a possibility that they will experience more defeats than other people.
That's what gambling all about. About taking a risk but unlike other risky activities, gambling can be said to as unfair. Therefore it is important to only use money that we can afford to lose. Not only that it makes us lose less if in case we are unlucky, it can also prevent us from getting addicted in gambling easily.

No and honestly most of the time it's because someone gambles a lot and wins which makes ypu more addicted.  So I'd like to think winning a ton increasing your odds of becoming addicted.  Amd when you lose all the time that's what will cure your addiction because either you run out of money amd you have to face your addiction or you just get tired of losing.
They can win but the thing is that they still lose it, so I guess that doesn't differ too much to those who are plain losers. Both have regrets but the other has more of it. Facing an addiction can also mean that we will just continue with the flow and this makes us to not feel bad anymore. If there is tired of losing, I think there is also tired of winning. They think they have enough money, so they will rest for a while and spend it first.

For someone who is addicted to gambling, there are 2 reasons why they are like that. There are those who always experience losses so they try to chase their losses by gambling continuously and this causes them to become uncontrollable and ultimately unable to cover the losses they get even though they occasionally win and the second reason is that gamblers experience winning and trying to continue the game hoping to win more but in the end they end up addicted to gambling and the winnings they get are lost because they are too greedy and it becomes a bad habit for them when they gamble too much after their ambition to win.

I think you have summed it up perfectly. They win, the problem is that they keep betting either for the first reason you mention or for the second one, until they lose everything.

Gambling addiction does have bad effects and most people who are addicted experience more losses than wins because they gamble too often so the winnings they get are not much compared to the losses so it is true that gambling only experiences losses and losses apart from financial losses it also harms time you spend too long gambling, therefore many people say that gambling addiction is bad and are advised to be responsible when gambling.

The correct answer is yes. Most of the time, it's not just gambling addicts who often lose in the field of casino gambling. Even though I often lose every time I play and rarely win, And if I win, it's only a small amount, and in the end, I still lose.

There is no chance that when I play gambling, I don't win. There are also times when I win, but it's only a really small amount that we can say is not enough to recover the amount of the loss. It's like the house edge is just tempting us to stay on their platform; it seems like that's all.
I really agree with you, yes they lose a real lot, even those who gamble responsibly lose a lot most times talk less of those involved in irresponsible gambling. They win sometimes, but its very possible the loss is more because even though they win, being addicts they still lose their wins back to the casino making the casino their major beneficiary.

The casino is designed to make more money for itself than for the mere gambler, you're surer about losing than winning, so no matter the strategies you employ as  a gambler, it only serves for a while and the more often you play to seemingly exploit the casino, the more addiction you're building up within yourself and the rainy days would affect you so well because by then, you're  already addicted and would try everything within your power to go back into winning ways.

This is when the casino would calmly extract back all your winnings and keep you seriously at loss before you even recognize what's happening.

Addiction is very difficult to get rid of, but I have a friend who is very addicted to gambling. He always spends the money he earns from his hard work on gambling. When I meet him I always often ask how his gambling results are winning or losing. When he answers lose then I just always say how much the total amount of money was spent on gambling. By doing this, I hope that he will reconsider the amount of money he has spent on gambling and until now he has not had any results to enjoy. Finally I saw that he was no longer so active in gambling and was more productive.

Indeed, each person has a different case, therefore we must remain by their side to provide support for the better.
