If you want to label something as unicorn, go to the Syan Technologies / Vega Home miner thread.
Unicorns come in different colors.

I think it's amazing everyone is still debating this unicorn miner.
Move on for fuck sakes. I'm hating myself for even writing this post.  Angry

Like HagssFIN says, an eBay listing for this item neither proves nor disproves anything. It’s an image from the website that anyone has access too, and the seller clearly states that their 20 units are on order only. If it turns out to be a Scam, the seller will have to refund the money.

The only thing that will add  to the  legitimacy of the project at this time will be an independent review. It’s just a shame no one on this forum is able (or willing) to provide one.

Ask voskcoin to do a review

Me, Dabs and Philipma1957 have already mentioned that any of us would be ready to co-op with them and do a thorough, honest review for the DragonMint miner.

They (Halong Mining) haven't yet worked together with any of us.

And after a long time we are still waiting for promojo's review.

He has reported that he has a demo unit.

I wonder if he will publish it some day or not..
My guess is that after posting the pic, he drank all the booze that was right next to the miner, and died Smiley

I for one would NEVER trust anything read in a crypto blog.
If someone does a detailed hands-on review of it with pictures, etc -- maybe.
Fact is most crypto 'news' sites are simply pay-for-placement PR sites and have nothing to do with real reviews or facts.

I will be getting one to review, take pictures, etc....  Stay tuned.

Hey gang, remember this?  Good times...!!  Cheesy

They must have failed to include a large enough TX fee in sending the physical miner to review, and it's been unconfirmed for over a month. Wink

Clueless!

So I'd venture to say that there's at least a prototype of this miner in existence.

The only "evidence" of working prototype is the youtube video. Only shows the miner for less than 30 sec then just shows the slush dash. Notice at 30 seconds in a finger conveniently hides the computer. Amateur doctored video.

https://imgur.com/a/hXk4Z?

That finger flicks by so fast, and the contents of the screen look the same before and after the flick.  What exactly does the finger flick prove?  You still see the debug screen for the miner submitting shares.  Timestamps look intact as well.  I'm not saying it is or isn't a scam.  This whole thing could be any one of a dozen narratives, one of which is a complete scam.  But I haven't seen anyone say "this part of the miner is Bitmain's" - they all have the square tube design and a couple of fans.

the video only shows the ass end of the unit (fan) probably and bitmain unit ...put that way so we can't see the front end bitmain nameplate.......it is
quite the....lame ass video

His reputation doesn't equal Halong Mining reputation.

Ebay item listings doesn't matter.

What we still need is a thorough, honest review.

How are Ebay pre-order resellers a good sign?  Huh

Any sign that miner exist is a good sign. Do you really think someone can get away with this kind of eBay scam? Look at the guys eBay ranking, he doesn't seem like an idiot to me.

Also, that is still the same video that Halong Mining originally released..

I haven't seen another proper testing video around.

And still no review as we moved forward to the year 2018.

Don't want people to get their hopes up.

Nice when noob accounts start posting to break hopes we can finally break out of the Bitmain miner's market monopoly. How much is Jihan Wu paying you to spread FUD?

There are positive things I see from these two eBay auctions:
- We finally have another video of miner in action. Can be fake, but it's likely it is not: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaLmTS38DfxJSEeW5rHDPLQ/videos;
- It is offered by reliable eBay seller with very high positive feedback in last 12 months: 95% (23/1);
- No one can hope to scam such an expensive item on eBay and get away with it, PayPal 45-days protection works like a charm. Chances that someone is trying to scam people on eBay in this manner are very, very low.

All these things I see as a positive signs that miner exists. It may still turn out to be highly skilled scam with a lot of energy invested by someone to fool people. But if someone claims these auctions are bad sign, then he has to have his own agenda why is he claiming so.

My point exactly. Thought the sarcasm was obvious!  Wink

It was. I was just being doubly obvious on my reply. Some people might be seeing the ebay listing and thinking that this is something new. Don't want people to get their hopes up.

As said many many times on this thread. Its a scam until someone independent and credible gets their hands on one for review.
