I'm hoping it's a real product and that they clean up the crappy design for batch 2.  There should be no need for a VGA connector and stripping wires to connect to screw terminals for power?  If they put a 4-pin Molex power connector on batch 2 boards they'd have a serious product.  If DwarfMiner can't figure out how to do that I'm sure someone else can (and will).  I'd like to order some (soon).  Oh yea.. and figure out how to sell using Paypal or AliExpress.  The warranty should at least match the expected ROI time.
They will provide a molex connector with batch one already (not soldered directly however, that would have been smarter)

The promise was to start shipping on June 18 or soon thereafter:

It will be ready on June 18. After that we will begin to send orders

Yes, then 2 days ago he said:

We talked with the factory. They were very sorry for the delay. We'll get the batch on Friday...  Tongue

Cross your fingers! Smiley . I still don't understand who's shipping them: a few posts ago it sounded like the factory was going to drop-ship to customers... but when he says 'we'll get the batch on Friday' maybe they're going back to DM+team first? Man... I'm going on holidays soon and would love to have a miner to play with!

isn't it a bit early? Nothing is even supposed to have shipped yet?

Had some insight, hope it helps.

I believe this guys to be in ...

... Something like that - so there is a correlation here.
If the matchbox has any sort of logo/text you guys could google, maybe that may help locate where abouts he is.

I think personal info has to be confined to the Scam board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) - but isn't it a bit early? Nothing is even supposed to have shipped yet?

I felt this was way too risky for me, and I didn't buy, but I still have a feeling that this is not a scam. I can't quite put my finger on why. It has almost every red flag you could think of, but the responses in this thread sounded real to me for some reason.

There were plenty of clues that this may be real. I went after an assessment from GPUHoarder that the specs are reasonable based upon what he saw on the naked board. The reason for not sharing with anyone on the forum to try out is as simple as keeping their design secret as long as possible. Once it’s out, there will be plenty of guys able to clone and sell it. The first couple of batches may be the only ones these guys can sell without competition.

But still few days to find out the truth...

Had some insight, hope it helps.

I believe this guys to be in Tenerife.

Bitcointalk profile says his local time is GMT+1 (the forum does not do summer time, so is one hour behind actual current time).
Spain is GMT+2, but the Canary Islands are -1h from Spain.

On one of the mega links, there is a photo where you can see of a matchbox with spanish text on it. I dont have the link with me, but that would be the best clue so far.

He mentioned Madrid at one point? Or some team memeber is Spain? Something like that - so there is a correlation here.
If the matchbox has any sort of logo/text you guys could google, maybe that may help locate where abouts he is.

can you come to that discord channel ?

i may have find some similar correalation with a real dude.

That's all I've got buddy, I won't be any more useful than that, I'm sorry to say.

Dwarf probably is scared to send out test units because we all know that currently there are stickers hiding chip information. And these test units will be definitely disassembled revealing that chip information. And after that we realize that oh god, this is so easy that I can do it ( or something similar that just puts dwarf into bad light etc. )

Currently there is no information about what chip is used.

This still screams SCAM because after units are sent out, we WILL find out about that PCB . And then the truth is harsh...

I was perfectly clear I did not want a miner for myself as compensation. I just wanted to inspect it working.
I am, theoretically, just a few (good) hours drive from the location of the the posted pics. I would have gladly gone.

I would go there, see it working, pay him directly for a few miners, and head back home - post here that I vouch I saw an actual miner working.

His answer was "I dont need to do that, because they will sell anyways" ... from then on, the classic exit-scam script at work.

Again, I hope I am proven wrong, I dont feel any joy at ALL seeing good peeps get burnt.
