Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
Win some, but not a life changer, so yes, I continue to gamble, but not as I used to be.
There are some people who win gambling so that it can change their life but that can be done because he immediately stopped gambling after getting a win and decided to build several businesses that could generate profits every day.
It is difficult for gamblers who are still active in gambling to be able to change their lives just by getting even a big win because surely these wins will soon be used up to play capital again.

I have been in the gambling industry long enough to get a number of wins which I think are quite big, but somehow all these wins have disappeared intangible.

It's a choice base options to quite gambling after making some cool money winning, people who controls their feelings and action may likely gamble because they would gamble responsible and know that winning doesn't often occur at all times.
Then while those who gamble for a life changing opportunities will never go close to a gambling site or casino because they were looking for a chance of getting a big win and probably they found it. A real gambler doesn't quite or stops gambling, they keep pushing and continue playing but would maintain not misplaced their previous winning.

... And to date, you are still gambling?

Yes, I do! Despite all the ups and downs. And gambling is full of ups and downs. Smiley

I don't think about quitting. I think people who enjoy gambling will never stop playing... it's all fun & games if we play with what we can afford to lose. It's about self-control and if we don't control our vices it will control us... and that's a step in the wrong direction.

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

It's very difficult to get out of this circle. When you get into it, then you have to be prepared that you will be able to bet all the money you have. So there is no need to be surprised that very few people leave when they get the jackpot from gambling, usually they will return to gamble again because of their curiosity and their greed to be able to get more than what they previously got. We can't blame those who gamble back the jackpot they've got, but it would be nice if they could curb their greed to gamble and they could enjoy the jackpot they got, whether it's investing or buying a house for their family.

I think gambling is far more than typical addictions. Its blood boiling experience to win money through those card games, or just machines, or betting you know. It is very fun experience altogether. I don't think a rich guy can quit gambling. Actually having more funds would probably encourage me more to gamble as I wouldn't worry to lose anymore! I think its not money that would make people quit in summary. Also I think I spent money I got through gambling sometimes elsewhere. I mean it doesn't need to be net negative.

I don't see anything wrong with doing the things that helped you change your life as long as you are a responsible gambler and you only allocate a portion for your bets, I read stories of people hitting the jackpot in a lottery but still betting just for the memory, they know that winning a huge jackpot is rare and should not be chased or force yourself to win again.
actually what OP is asking if it is easy , indeed that most gamblers finding their way weanted to quit but they cannot , the addiction of gambling are turning them back again each time they decide to comes out and this is what gambling made people since day one.
some are winners in the start but losers forever while others is born lucky and yes they live using gambling money.

there are even people that manage to win jackpot in lottery but after years ? turn into  a loser because of mismanagement , we must put a set  up in life and the only thing that will save us? is to know where to quit .

Same here, even in our place that I heard individuals winning big? they keep on going back.

Yeah, definitely it people shouldn't go back specially those windfall winnings like in Lottery or maybe big wins in a casino. But I guess it's human nature to go back because they might  feel comfortable or think that they can duplicate their winnings because they have this so called winning methods or just simply luck.

For a gambling addict it will never happen. They can only stop when they have no money at all.. For those who are just starting to gamble/gambling to pass the time, maybe they will stop playing and enjoy that win

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Gotta stop, that's the truth. But when a gambling addict, they can't think logically, when they get a big win, they are greedy and want to earn more. Even though everyone knows, after getting a big win then the next loss comes continuously

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

I once won big and withdrew the money. Some of it I use for holidays and some of it is used up for gambling again

Very hard to quit though,

- if it is a life changing for you, then maybe you can still go back and continue and look for more.
- if you keep losing money, then maybe temporary you will stop, but then again, it will sucker you back in, meaning you will think to make a comeback and recoup you losses.

So I guess the keyword is that once you are into gambling, it is very difficult to get out no matter what.

Actually that is the essence of gambling that makes people do involved for long , the thing that we called "beginners Luck" in which that said gambling will let us Win sometimes even huge amount and yes after tasting that win? what will follow is continues losing but since there are installed memory in our mind about being a winner?
we will chase that win from that point.
this is the mentality that must be erased or else every gambler will always seek for the same thing and manner.

Gambling is very addictive and almost difficult to resist especially when you're making a profit from it, most times peope go back after they've made profit due to greed, they intend to double their profit and end up losing the whole money. Asides greed most gamblers are bored and don't have social life and being too addicted to gambling would make them go back to the casino or sites for fun not minding whether they lose or profit more.
Anxiety also can be considered as one of the major reason most gamblers tend to go back after profit, the fear of going broke could make them want to risk their profit and gain more, which could either lead to more profit or loss, I'll advise that gambling shouldn't be considered as a means of investment cause it yields more loss than profit and can cause depression and loss of sanity.
I'm no longer a fan of gambling because experience they say is the best teacher and I've learnt from mine.

i managed to win a good enough amount and cashed it out, but i still lost other money from diferent places that is more than what i won that time, so i'm way in the negatives, and i still can't stop gambling, it's tough to stop for sure, i know friends who are struggling with that too, it is for sure not easy unless someone is  mentally strong as a rock, but unfortunately im dumb as a rock.

I did win some huge amounts from gambling and managed not to lose them because i gave my winning to my parents and since the money is already in my parent's hand, it is impossible to get them back and use it to gamble.  Though I still come back to gambling with a new set of bankroll funds for the new gambling session.  I am still gambling today and probably will continue playing in a casino.

For other people, it is hard for them to quit because of gambling addiction and greed.  While others find gambling entertaining and allocate a small percentage of their income to continuously enjoy the entertainment brought by gambling.

Hard to quit when you already used to gamble everyday and there are people who lure you to gamble again. But if we say winning a huge amount well yeah there are times but eventhough you say that you manage it well since you didn't lose all of it in just one round of gaming still over the time you gamble if you lose and total all the losses you got in a day its still the same since you lost a lot of money from continuous playing the game.

Your question seems uo have answered itself from the way I see it.

Well, we must try to understand something. People gamble for a purpose and for those who's about a life changing opportunity through a jackpot, they might as well be able to attain from gambling. That also implies, they've got to command enough resource after that big win to keep the money they've got.

For those who gamble for fun, I suppose they just got yet another reason to continue gambling.

For some persons, it might not be about fun at first but, when they've past that survival purpose, they redefine there reasons for gambling and keep on gambling.

I will continue to gamble because I don't see gambling as my main way of making money but rather my way of entertaining myself

btw, if you think that the money you won at the beginning is money that you can save, then you are wrong, you have to buy something from gambling winnings or invest it because you think you will definitely continue to force you to use that money and gamble with the money that you have set every time. every day so you can control how much you spend and lose every time you gamble

whoever that is gambling addicted will continue to gamble will not like to leave company because ET or it has been addicted in gambling so far so I believe that when you lose your money in gambling and nobody will tell you to leave a gambling or when you sell your car to gamble and you lose it nobody will tell you to lose it totally or to leave gambling so that is it

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

I personally feel that if anyone has ever been addicted to gambling, whether that's currently or in the past, should never gamble again.  I think it's often times too difficult for people whom have had troubles with excessive gambling, to just try and limit themselves going forward, instead of not doing so at all.  It's like drug addicts, the vast majority who've had a drug problem, quit, and then try coming back to do just "a little bit", often go back to going fully in again..it's just too hard to limit for most people.

Thankfully I don't have this issue, so the more I make in my job, the more I'm likely to gamble (always within reason).
This is why on the time that you have decided to touch up gambling space then you should really be wary about those possible conditions or situations which might be ending up on this way on which addiction would really be might that severe on which it would really coming into a time on which you wouldnt really be able to quit on the time that you should quit. This is what addiction would really be leading that certain person
whose involved into. If you are really that bad when it comes to self control and discipline or simply that emotionally impulsive then you would really be finding for this situation to really be that hard.
You cant really quit up directly until you have nothing at all to spend. Dont wait up for such condition before you would stop because if you do then you would really be crying later on basing on what you have done.
Its too late and everything had been spent and damage had been done.Just like on what rest been saying on here that quiting is easy to say but when you are on the actual condition then it is really
that hard specially whether you do chase up your losses or something that hunts for huge wins.

It is difficult to quit gambling because it is very addictive, when you are into gambling what comes into your mind even though you are always losing is you will win one day and this gives you hope to always continue to indulge in the act so to me I will say that it take a very discipline person to quit.
I don't want someone started having such a mindset that he will always win in each of the gambling game he played that means that person will continue to lose so being addictive and gambling is very bad and very dangerous it can lead you to sell your property and also gamble with it so it is reasonable enough for me to understand the measure will take for any gambling and want to partake on
