It is very difficult to predict already now. But I think the teams I marked with red will reach the semi finale.

I'm surprised you have more faith in Manchester United than Tottenham Hotspur, is that due to their recent improved form?

I will endorse Liverpool to win in front of Southampton and Arsenal to defeat Crystal Palace but certainly not the rest. Manchester United couldn't be trusted until I see how far the new coach could fix the team. They got a draw against Chelsea in the EPL game, that's quite good but not enough to convince me they could win vs such annoying opponent like Tottenham Hotspur.
For Newcastle United, they might did well by beating gunners in EPL but that doesn't mean anything for a fluctuating team.

I also have no doubt about Liverpool and Arsenal, they can definitely reach the semifinals easily, especially since their opponents are not worthy opponents in my opinion. A result with a gap of 2 to 3 goals is still reasonable.

For Manchester United, they look promising, a draw against Chelsea was not enough, but at least they were not embarrassed at home. When they play Tottenham Hotspur, Ruben Amorim is the manager there, I think we can consider them to win against Tottenham Hostpur.

➥ Tottenham - Manchester United
Newcastle - Brentford
➥ Southampton - Liverpool
Arsenal - Crystal Palace

So out of those 8 teams, which teams do you think will reach the semifinals?

As expected, Liverpool managed to win over Brighton even though it was by a narrow score. This result made their journey even longer in this competition, and they entered the quarter-finals. In the quarter finals there are 8 teams that will face each other, there are:

➥ Tottenham - Manchester United
➥ Newcastle - Brentford
➥ Southampton - Liverpool
➥ Arsenal - Crystal Palace

So out of those 8 teams, which teams do you think will reach the semifinals?

Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United would be a great one, Ange wants to win a trophy as he said during his second season, and the new Manchester United manager wanting to prove himself. I will be biased to say Manchester United. Eddie Howe has done nothing for Newcastle United, this would be his third season to fight for silverwares. I will go with Newcastle United. Arne slot has been doing well no much cap about him, Liverpool I'll say will move to the next round. Mikel Arteta as well is a top manager, I want to see him thrive.

The fact that all 8 teams in the quarter-finals are Premier League teams means we won't be watching a fairy tale this season. Last night, Arteta fielded a strong squad instead of resting his players against Preston, and left the field with a 3-0 win. I think Arteta really wants to win the Carabao Cup this year Cheesy
Arteta wants to have something in his hand, a guarantee of a trophy apparently just in case gunners fail to win English Premier League title.

If we take Arsenal's performance this season into consideration, I understand why they are starting Carabao Cup games with the main squad. As you have also said Arteta wants to finish the season with at least one title. Carabao Cup is a quite good opportunity for this too.

Unfortunately I lost my bet as Chelsea failed to score single goal against Newcastle and Manchester City also suffered defeat to Tottenham, only Newcastle performance this season is much worse than last season and they continue to drop down the Premier League but look more interesting in the EFL Cup.
I impressed with Newcastle although there are some doubts about their stability, regarding Chelsea are always in trouble and they have had some very bad seasons but after this there is curiosity to see Chelsea development whether they can really be as good as most fans are talking about.
~snip~
remember that Newcastle played against Chelsea just recently and towards the end of the game, it was almost like Chelsea was praying for the game to come to an end because of the pressure and quality in the Newcastle team even though they were up against Chelsea first team. Even though they are used to playing with these squad once it's not in the EPL, seeing how tough the Newcastle game was in the premier League would have made them start some good players like palmer Jackson and modueke so all attacks won't be coming back to the defense that's already weak. A lot of floppy passes from the keeper and defense line led to those goals and it constantly shows the weakness that's still evidence in the Chelsea team.

Manchester City had a clear plan, the carabao cup wasn't a priority for them. They already have eyes on the champions league and the EPL so normally, it's quite necessary that they fucose on games that really matter  and that's why they didn't bother bringing some key players into the match. Now that man united has had one of thier most remarkable victory at the carabao cup under a new manager, let's watch how best they effect this result against Chelsea in the next game at the premier League.
Yes you are right and indeed Chelsea game is not the same as usual when they play in the Premier League, maybe they have certain goal like optimizing performance for the Premier League by playing more carefully in the EFL Cup and that is just to keep the players from doing some bad things that are detrimental to the team, last season they lost their place and now they want to get better, moreover Newcastle and Chelsea game when they were in the Premier League also looked quite different.

For big team like Manchester City who has the potential to compete for the title in several big competitions, it is only right for them to only focus on those few important competitions, on the other hand it might be the same as when they were in the FA Cup final against Manchester United and really played like they were not that ambitious to win until they finally handed the FA Cup to Manchester United.
I think here Manchester City is also doing the same thing.

So we go to Southampton away in the 1/4 final. I will take it, would have preferred to be at Anfield but definitely one of the more friendly draws we could have had.

I’m glad to have avoided some of the bigger teams.
The match either home or away won't be anything difficult for Liverpool to get a win against Southampton, who has been finding it hard to settle down in the EPL this season since returning from relegation. Though Liverpool still have them yo play this November in the Epl away and Carabao cup next month.

Manchester United pushed hard to move to the next round and no surprises that EPL teams is dominating this competition.

The victory over Leicester City is one sign that Man United and its players are currently on the rise, although not a pure benchmark, but the fans will certainly be happy with the results, I think van nistelrooy has a big part in his team's success yesterday in the carabo cup even though he was appointed as a temporary coach he maximized the little time to raise the morale of his players. In the next match Chelsea must be careful even though they are stable but still Man United does not want to lose, especially playing at Old Trafford, Manchester United's home.
Some people will be saying that Man UTD beating Leicester isn't something to proud of because even though they are a Premier League team, they are still struggling but personally I'd say it's something to celebrate over because 1, they've not defeated any Premier League club by that number of goals this season despite the competition and 2, being that they've been going through some setbacks and with the backdrop of them sacking their coach and bringing in this new one, though being an interim, to win your first game does a lot for any coach's morale.
Qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup is a great achievement for Manchester United and worth celebrating. Almost all the clubs in the English Premier League have quality, therefore insinuating that the win against Leicester is insignificant is wrong. The truth is that the Red Devil team improved and played better than we have seen this season. They were able to take advantage of their opportunities and scored five goals. Bruno Fernandez finally ended his goalscoring drought with a brace.

With the way Brighton is playing Liverpool, I have the feeling that Arsenal may likely overtake the Liverpool guys in the soonest. I feel if it was Arsenal, those boys would have scored a goal already and Jesus are in good form. Now Arsenal is already leading with two goals over Preston North End at the EFL Cup. I know they will score more goals before the end of the game.

Although it wasn't just as merely said, Liverpool is still much in charge of the game with the 1 goal to none they are already beating the Brighton side. Salah is yet to pull through on this game and I know if he's on he will make some strong moves as well.

Am not surprised seeing Manchester United react this way against Leicester city, actually such performance is expected of an interim manager who tends to impress both the fans and his employers to gain their confidence and probably convince them to consider keeping him on permanent basis. Most times coaches that come into a team on interim basis could prove to be more tactically better than their predecessors who couldn't handle the pressure that was what played out against Leicester city, nevertheless I still want to commend the coach and the players for that wonderful masterpiece performance because it has been long that the fans saw such a result from the team.
Van Nistelrooy has managed to lead Manchester United to an impressive victory in his first game as interim manager, so it has sparked huge joy from the fans, because in addition to successfully maintaining their pace in the current Carabao Cup, of course a big win over Leicester City can at least lift their mentality after being slumped by defeat from West Ham in the previously Premier League match, But I don't think the victory will be a reason for the management to make Van Nistelrooy the permanent coach, because they has reportedly struck a deal with Amorim to replace Ten Hag as next red devil coach, Manchester United performance in the match was indeed very impressive and even every attack they built was very effective in destroying the Leicester City defense, But I think Van Nistelrooy ability to coach has not been proven even though he impressed in the first game, because it is very important for Manchester United to recruit a really quality coach and can take Manchester United better in the long run.
Van Nistelrooy would make a very good coach but certainly not at Manchester United, at least not for the moment, maybe he should try his hands somewhere else because right now at Manchester United it is very toxic and not conducive for an upcoming coach like him that hasn't really taken a job of this magnitude so I will suggest that he uses this opportunity to build his capacity and galvanise enough support from the fans so that sometime in the future he may be called upon to lead the team when necessary but i don't think now is right time.

I knew that Man UTD will excel against Leicester because in competitions like this they tend to do well but what I didn't see coming was the number of goals they will dish out. If I'm not mistaken, this is about the highest scoreline we've seen come from Man UTD and it's like the players are trying to show their pleasure over the sack of Erik ten Hag.
They play Chelsea next and honestly, I don't think Chelsea will find it easy to get a win from them especially with the new found hunger these boys have.
Manchester United under Ten Hag have never won by five goals against a Premier League team, United biggest goal record under Ten Hag against a Premier League team is four goals in a 4-2 win over Sheffield United, 4-3 over Wolves and 4-1 over Chelsea. In fact, Ten Hag once led MU to victory with seven goals, but not against a Premier League team, but against a lower division team, namely Barnsley FC and Coventry. The next challenge faced by Van Nistelrooy is a bit tough because Chelsea is also starting to show signs of revival, MU who has just ended their hunger for victory will try to repeat the success when they beat Leicester City.
Well-spoken. Manchester United has just won a good game in the EFL and that's a good start for them after Ten Hag was sacked. Manchester United is yet to face Chelsea in the EPL on Sunday which is a tougher opponent and funny enough Reuben Amorim won't be coaching the team by then. Ruud van Nistelrooy will still be the acting coach let's see how he gets by the game on Sunday. It's not going to be an easy one for Manchester United. Let's believe the team is better now since Ten Hag is no longer the manager.

I was thinking that Manchester United players would react to the departure of ten Hag.  As I expected there was a team which was different than what we have seen in the recent years against Leicester. I'm going to bet on this team to beat Chelsea in front of their fans at the weekend also. Smiley
Despite the fact that Chelsea team is more informed than Manchester United team, there is definitely going to be a competitive match on Sunday. It doesn't matter if you win at the end of the day or not, but at least you should play a good football. I remember when Manchester United play good football. But nowadays whether they win or they do not win you do not understand or see any good football. I don't like their last match that Van Nesteroy did something different. Sometimes it is good to make a change whether the change will bring positive or negative result, just make a change first rather than to remain stagnant.

What ever the result will be on Sunday, just be assured that Manchester United will at least play a good football that the fans and lovers of football will appreciate.

Some people will say that this is not a game that Manchester United will be serious about because their next match is against Chelsea on Sunday but for me, the match is very important for the team, Manchester United has not had a good performance in the Premier League and No matter how they tried they will never end up in a good position at the end of the season because they are not in a good position from the beginning of the season, It will be very difficult for Manchester United team come back stronger this season because they have missed some opportunity that will make them stand in a good position.

I didn't mean that Manchester United will not play well, what I am trying to say is that Manchester United team will not be in the top four positions at the end of the season, but they can try to play well to prevent them from going to relegation position, they should also focus on Carabao cup and Europa League because that is the Only League that I am sure if they are serious they will win the trophy.
I knew that Man UTD will excel against Leicester because in competitions like this they tend to do well but what I didn't see coming was the number of goals they will dish out. I wasn’t surprised to see Manchester United play the way they did against Leicester City. What do you expect? Just because they’ve been having problems at the club doesn’t mean a team near relegation can easily beat Manchester United. Perhaps some people expected United to show up on the pitch and just kick the ball around without any tactical strategy, especially given that their head coach, Erik ten Hag, was recently relieved of his position, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who hasn't managed a top club like Manchester United, was given the task.

Manchester United is a great team, and I was happy to see them play the typical United way. I really hope to see more of this kind of play—dominating and winning with a commanding result like this.

I think I will also give the same opportunity to their meeting against Chelsea later.
Because I am happy with the performance they showed when they beat Leicester City yesterday there was something surprising that happened the players were very enthusiastic Garnacho who previously appeared less convincing in yesterday's match he was very extraordinary as well as Casemiro and other Man United players.
In addition, in the match against Chelsea later they act as hosts the chances of winning the match are getting bigger although on the one hand Man United's performance yesterday did not guarantee the same thing to happen but at least a little of my doubts were cured.

By the way, Manchester United have now won 3-1 over Leicester City. This will be Ruud Van Nistelrooy's first win as Manchester United manager after Erik ten Hag was sacked. Manchester United's game is good not because of the score advantage they have made at this time. Could it be because of Ruud Van Nistelrooy or when Erik ten Hag the Manchester United players did not play wholeheartedly.

Anyone who chooses Manchester United either in 1x2 or over 2.5 bets, then the chance to win the bet is almost a reality.
For gamblers who bet on single bets with a large bet amount, then I will congratulate you even though the match is not over because the score has become big again from 3-1 to 4-1 in the first half.

As a Manchester United fan, that is the reason I have being clamouring for sack of ETH. Whenever there is a dismissal of a coach and another coach is to come, the players and their own would immediately sit up and begin to fight for position and jersey. The boys know that the New coach is not coming to joke with his job so they will need to sit up, that is why you are seeing the good performance against Leicester City. The boys will try to score more goals to please the incoming coach. You know too well that Manchester United have been having difficult is calling goals, so this is the opportunity for everyone to show that they will remain relevant under the New coach. I was there for not surprised when Manchester United scored four goals in the first half. But conceding 2 goals also in the same half is not also a good sign.

But Erik ten Hag since his arrival at Old Trafford has also done the same thing as you mean, namely the player looks serious about getting a position in the starting line up so he managed to give two trophies to Manchester United.
For Manchester United and the fans, the two trophies seem incomplete because the trophy they are aiming for is the Premier League. Hopefully what I said is not wrong.

If there are those who say that Manchester United's game yesterday with a 5-2 victory over Leicester City with coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy was something unimportant considering it was only a Carabao Cup competition, can that be accepted as a Manchester United fan?
