Newcastle had a good defense and a super goalie which made it very difficult for Arsenal to find the back of the net despite their endless effort. Losing at home is not what I expected from Arsenal. However, Newcastle did great by taking advantage of their chances in the first and second half when it came. Isak is in form and is becoming more dangerous everyday.
No one expected Arsenal to lost 0 - 2 to Newcastle at home and this defeat could be bad start because in the second leg Arsenal will have to play away and at least have to win by more than 3 goal to be able to enter the final absolutely.
Isak himself played very well with Newcastle in the Premier League and at the age of 25 he has the opportunity to become one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

Initially I predicted the final would bring together Arsenal and Liverpool but I don't know it seems like it will not happen, what is certain is that Liverpool will be team that is guaranteed to enter the final later.

The momentum at the Emirates Stadium should have been used as capital to make it easier for them in the second leg, but the result was truly beyond expectations, Arsenal had to admit Newcastle superiority. Arsenal still have time to turn things around, as the gap between the first leg and the second leg is still very long. However, considering Arsenal's very busy calendar this season, it is very difficult to turn things around in the second leg, especially since their position is under pressure.

In this type of competition we will always see surprising results, I mean teams that fight for the title in the Premier League fall early and do not reach the final while teams that are not fighting for the title in the Premier League are going far in this competition, in some cases even reaching the final, perhaps this happens because the coaches who are fighting for the title in the Premier League underestimate the other teams or want to spare the physicality of their players by limiting them to playing moderately, without making much physical effort to avoid injuries.

I'm not really sure if this is the case here. I remembered I pointed out that few players in the Arsenal team were sick in their last premier league game, so I don't think the manager is trying to spare the physicality of his players for any coming game. And let's just be honest, Arsenal don't have that title winning mentality. This fact hurts, but it's just the truth. A team with a strong winning mentality would want to win as many trophies that can be won.

And if the manager actually made his players sit back for some reasons, do they even stand a chance to win other trophies? That's a massive NO IMO. Because, Arsenal dominated the game as usual, but just couldn't put that ball at the back of the net. And team that must win trophies must learn how to score as well. And, this is why changing of strategies is very important. Newcastle was able to neutralize Arsenal set-pieces from corners, which I believe served as a lesson that not all teams are weak.

Technically both of the teams are in good form, but this match played in Emirates Stadium and Arsenal dominated the match, the results ended Arsenal without score is really surprising. At least Arsenal should able to score one goal, but Martin Dubravka is too good.

It will be hard for Arsenal to play in the next game since they will play away, Arsenal should bench Odegaard, this guy is no more like in the past, Mikel Merino is better than him now.

Of course, it will be a very difficult task for Arsenal to take a two goal lead at St.james park, but I'm not sure if the benching of Odegaard is the best thing to do. Like I said, there is a current sickness in the team, and Odegaard happens to be among those who's currently ill, but I won't still choose merino over him. I think in the last EPL game they played, Odegaard kept losing ball easily to their opponents, which was just too obvious that something was wrong. Playing a game without a key playmaker is dangerous because as it stands, Arsenal's attack is very shitty. From Havertz, Martinelli, Trosaard, Merino and Odegaard, these players are not even offering their best. The only solution I see here is bringing fresh legs to the team, because most players tends to do well when they're in competition with other players for a specific position.

This one wasn’t so surprising was it? Both teams are EPL teams and they both are fight for the EPL trophy as it is, having good form and I like to consider Newcastle United to be more in form at the moment than Arsenal. Isak, Gordon and Murphy are on fire for the team and Arsenal is just adjusting to use what they’ve got in the absence of their fire power in Saka to work the wings and cross that ball in. G. Jesus has just been filling up the gap as we know it but, his not fit in them shoes as expected quite well.
Havertz ought to have scored the last attempt he got, a clean header could have given the goalkeeper no chance but, it came off his shoulders.

Advantage Newcastle, it ended 0-2 in favour of the visitors. Arsenal played well but couldn't create chances for themselves to score, this match proves once again that you can play good and still lose when you don't create chances and make good use of them. Newcastle are one foot into the Carabao finals as we await the second leg in a week or two weeks time.
Arsenal will be very said for their 2-0 lost against Newcastle United at the Emirates stadium Arsenal played very well had more good scoring chances but they failed to utilize their scoring opportunity while Newcastle United made very good use of their scoring opportunity to start with 1-0 lead in the first half of game a brilliant goal scored by Isak In the first half gave Newcastle a lead before another goal was also added in the early stages of the second half to make it 2-0 win against Arsenal in the first leg semi finals of the carabao cup. Arsenal crucial win by Newcastle United against Arsenal has kept Newcastle on a very big advantage to make it through to the final of the carabao cup I believe it will difficult for Arsenal to turn things around when next they visit Newcastle United for their second leg semi finals.

One thing we have always learn in football is that playing well with out scoring a goal or getting a win is totally useless because at the end what matters is who won the game.

I feel that Arsenal should be given the award for the team with the consistency of always fucking up when it matters the most. They were held to a 1-1 draw to Brighton in the league game and Arteta have the excuse of wanting to perform better at the EFL that was why he dropped some of his boys and getting to reach this event, he bottles it up? I wonder the explanation he'd tender to the public at this moment because Arsenal are slowly becoming a club that no one can rely on.
I just wonder if no one else is noticing how much mistakes Raya makes that some times proves too costly for the Gunners and if Arteta's not seeing it as well because it was for some silly mistake that made Ramsdale lose his spot as first choice keeper for Arsenal.
It's so painful that they (Arsenal) can't try to perform well in these competitions and still flop in the league. Let's see whether during the transfer window if they will add a good striker in their list or if this will be yet another period to 'make do' with the half baked ones they've got.

The second leg is still going to favour Newcastle. Arsenal are already looking set to end another season without a trophy. How could they have allowed Newcastle to win them at home. Knowing fully well that this was an opportunity for them to play and get to the final. Arteta is gradually becoming a joke and if he's not careful he will lose his job. The premier League title is out of reach for them, as Liverpool are proving difficult to drop much points lately. Why not Arteta take this match serious and get the win. With this performance Manchester United is going to defeat them this weekend.  Arteta has spent 5 years now at Arsenal, with nothing to show for it. Losing by  2 goals to Newcastle doesn't say good about them. I'm really disappointed not because Arsenal lost, am disappointed because Arsenal couldn't score just one goal to make the match play both teams scored. Really sad for Arsenal poor performance today.

Like I said before the game, Newcastle will have a chance of wining the match if Arsenal fails to make use of their opportunities on goals and that was what they did, unfortunately they did oppress Newcastle in this game especially in areas like possession and the likes, but in the end Newcastle came out the victor. I wonder if Arsenal may be able to get a come back win when they visit Newcastle at home.
Arsenal in this game definitely failed on making good use of their chances on goal, played like they were not in for the game leaving Newcastle united to be the better side as they were very clinical with the only two goal chances they had were the 2 winning goals they got in game.

Arsenal continues to unleash different shades of disappointments to their fans every season, rather Arteta improving his team to confidently compete and win trophies it has rather been a bottling issue with each competition. Tonight's game was one game Arsenal has no excuse of not winning it to Wembley, because tonight's loss to Newcastle only explains that they're very much not ready to even win the EPL trophy anytime soon.

No both teams to score, no gunners victory, no successful attempts, just nothing in Arsenal's side!
When you see the statistics of the game, you have the feeling that the score is inverted but the reality is the opposite. Newcastle United players were efficient, scoring every serious attempt while Arsenal missed a lot of opportunities so the outcome was expected somehow after all..
Tomorrow, Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur and I doubt Liverpool will miss the victory even if they don't include some of their main squad players.

Newcastle scored a second goal, Isak the orchestrator again, but it ends with Gordons this time. I can't say I am embarrassed because I expected this loss. Our attack is very poor, poorer since the Saka injury; chances to score every time we go forward on a scale of 1-10 is not even up to 5. That is how poor we are.
I thought Gabriel Jesus had really stepped up in the past few games and Arsenal actually became high scoring vs when Saka played (they were mostly relying on set pieces). Personally, I wonder why Arteta didn't just start him rather than bring him on in the second half.
Arteta makes his choices and most times his choices are not productive but we cannot question him because he is the head coach.
No one gets an inform striker and play him from the bench in an important match, I thought I was the only one that noticed.

I think Arsenal management will start considering looking for alternative coach because Arteta is only good in building a team and not winning titles which is why we have started seeing from his performance which are mainly affected by the team set up from the beginning of the match.

Knowing well that the Premier League will be difficult to win, you as a manager needs to take any other competition serious so that even if you couldn’t win the EPL you can win any of the cups to console your fans; but Arteta keep gambling with lineups even when he needed the game most.

However, today’s formation was not bad, but I was expecting Keran Tierney instead of Lewis Kelly because we all know how physical Newcastle players look, so they will need a defender that can disturb them just like Timber; but Arteta keep working with his tactics that will soon make him to lose his job because he is not consistent anymore.

This should be an eye opener to Arteta that he needs to make sure we strengthen our attack in this opportunity we have; with Martinelli, Havertz, and Jesus, we will win nothing.
Given the way Newcastle played, I really don't see much of the difference if Saka was there, Newcastle are always brilliant in capitalizing on the mistake of most defenders, their attack might look less dangerous and that is the disguise they always been using while putting Alexander Isak as their arrow head. If you watch the game properly towards the ending from around 60 minutes of play you will see that all the Newcastle players had to come back to defend the 2 goals they scored, the reason is they've already gotten what they wanted, so it's time for them to defend what they had till the final whistle.

That is the number one sign of a striker that is in form because no matter the pressure the other team puts on his team he takes every advantage he has to make sure he gives his team the advantage. I doubt that Newcastle will be so willing to sell Alexander Isak especially now that he is on a very good goal scoring form.

Nah, i don't think Newcastle will be willing to sell Isak to any club especially now that they have a rich owner instead they would want to add more prolific players to their squad. Newcastle can only let him go if he wants to opt out himself, for now i don't even see him leaving because his already enjoying himself in the club. Its 50 goals to his name in all competitions already and his not slowing down.
Newcastle can only sell Isak if they have serious financial problems to solve. No club sells their hit player at the heat of the season. Isak is not a one season wonder striker, he has been consistent since I have known him.

The time is closing up really fast as it is 85mins already. It seems that Newcastle is about to eliminate Arsenal. Scoring 2 goals within 10mins is not what many clubs do. However, even if Arsenal losses, I give kudos to Martinelli, the guy really gave a tough fight.
