I don't know about mixing politics or religion or anything not neutral item(s)/topic(s) to mining coins and/or the economics of it, that's just my opinion.

I should have what I think is the first North American Pool online within the next few hours! Hope there is still interest for this!

I like how you wrote that. I have meshed the various opinions of how it should be written and ensured it is professional.

The page looked better after that, but still a little rough.  I rewrote the entire page to try and make it look more professional, plus give a better explanation of how everything works so that the average 50 year old man, or even Ron Paul himself, can log onto the website and understand it.

I haven't thoroughly proof read it yet for punctuation marks, etc, but it's mostly ready to go, and IMO a big improvement.  You can use everything word for word if you want, just put me in the credits section as a writer/technical explanation.  I'll PM the name if you do.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RonPaulCoin.com is a website dedicated to economic freedom, and the free market principles taught by Ron Paul over the course of 30+ years.

Much like Bitcoin, the Ron Paul Coin is a secure, open-source based, digital currency, which allows for transactions between individuals, without the burden of middlemen, excessive fees, or complex regulation.

The Ron Paul Coin, or RPC, has a hard-coded cap of only 2.1 million coins that will come into existence.  This number is significantly lower than Bitcoin, which has 21 million total coins.
Notice the correlation between total coin supply and price per coin:

Each coin is slowly released into the real world economy through the mining process, which also similar to Bitcoin, involves the computation of mathematical problems, or hashing.  This enormous amount of computing power is used to create a secure, worldwide, decentralized ledger of accounting called the block chain.

Each contributor of computing power, known as miners, are then rewarded through automated systems with units of the currency, until all coins are in circulation around the year 2145.  Once the mining process ends, small, automated transaction fees, which are also used to prevent spam attacks on the network, keep the miners incentivized to continue their efforts.

Taking part in this decentralized monetary system does not help to enrich it's creators.  The Bitcoin protocol began as an open source project, and even the creator of this particular project has to mine, just like everyone else.  You're not helping to enrich a banker.  You are in fact, helping to put a banker out of business, and ending a system of centuries of economic enslavement.

The real life man, Ron Paul, although not a programmer, or strictly technically orientated person, has already begun to investigate and discuss the implications of this technology.  Perhaps one day, he will hear of the fact that he has his own coin, and help to promote the cause of decentralized currency further.

Things removed
--------------------------
1)  Ron Paul stands for financial freedom and economic transparency. We here at RonPaulCoin.com support Ron Paul to the fullest."

^not needed because it's covered in the first sentence of new page

 2)  "There are a lot of crypto-coins out there that have a ridiculously high total coin count (hundreds of millions or even billions). Scarcity creates value, not abundance. RonPaulCoin is built on this quality of scarcity, like gold, which Ron Paul so commonly speaks in support of. Because of this, RPC has 1/10th of the total coin supply that Bitcoin will ever have."

^Excess information that will only confuse the non-technically literate since they have no idea what a "Billioncoin" or "Fedora" is, and the technically literate can already see this fact under coin details

Hey Colin,

Hows it going on the PR front? Is there anything I can do to assist with? Really keen to get this infront of the relevant media outlets!

We have certainly left orbit Grin

At the suggestion of the pool operator I deleted all wallet files except for wallet.dat and forced a new blockchain download.  This worked.  All RPC are now accounted for.

I'm kind of embarrassed that I didn't think of it. LOL

Many thanks to the operator of http://ronpaulcoin.miners-point.com/

These addnodes work, thanks. Ideally, these should be compiled in a new client version ....

OP if you want to add this to the ronpaulcoin.conf that would make it easier for new users to connect and download.

BTW the new website looks great!

The pool has paid out and the block Explorer confirms there. You can verify this at

When compiled from the source in the first post, I can't get any connections, even when I downloaded the ronpaulcoin.conf and put in into $HOME/.ronpaulcoin/ronpaulcoin.conf

Is somewhere a new source or new list to put into addnode?

I had the same problem, but then I also put ronpaulcoin.conf in the same folder as ronpaulcoin-qt and then wallet did connect.

What does the blockchain explorer say about the transactions?
The pool doesn't display the entire transaction ID and when I click it it takes me to the LTC blockchain explorer so obviously they aren't found.
I found the transaction ID in the URL and the explorer shows it's been paid to my address (if I'm interpreting the output correctly)
