It is sad... I had like 3 orphans solo mining, now I am pool mining with a grand total of 0.01 RPC...

What is your hashrate?

We should mine this for a few days or weeks THEN someone write (preferably someone college educated) to fawks nus and tell them about it. Drumming up the finer points, ya know, free market and all that, then when it hits the air we will be sitting on $7k/rpc coins =D

Most likely you have input the wrong URL, forgotten to add a port, or

 Pool: 0  URL: http://localhost:9332  User: ***  Password: ***
Press any key to exit, or cgminer will try again in 15s.
Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid

Keep getting this above.

change the port 9332 to the rpcport in your ronpaul conf file which is 9026

Also change localhost in bat file to 127.0.0.1 unless localhost is not 127.0.0.1 in which case you need to change in conf file ...what is in your conf file needs to match what you put in the bat..if you sitll have a problem please post conf and bat file in same message next

Oh dear....port changed and now working.....there's always something, a small bit, that i'd overlooked.

Cheers for your help.

Will leave it running for now and see what i get in the morning.

You might want to set up one of the pools as a failover as well and it will let your miner know when a block has been found so you're not working on a solved block.

I have no .conf file for the ron paul wallet. it just unzipped as a qt file and a daemon file. I tried deleting all the other associated files but that didn't help either. Muchly frustrated.

there is a .conf file in the instructions. download and save as directed. should work without issues, did for me.

leewilson, post your rpc address.

You seem to really care about this coin and your being very helpful to other users.

Thanks for the kind words covshark.

My RPC address is in my sig.

And passionate bc of the political stance of man on the coin and don't want its lack of care or commitment making it fall apart and die.
Because the press and government would just love that and spin it to show how just like Ron Paul's presidential campaign and his followers and "his" cryptocurrency all drop the ball.
And even use it to then attempt to say bc of that cryptocurrency is illegitimate.

Amen leewilson! thank you for caring about rp, freedom, this coin, and helping others get going. if i was mining at more than 16k/hash i would send you a donation. but only got this lonely laptop. need to buy a rig!

Thanks for noticing. And I completely understand...neither one of us is making any kind of dent at our hash power.

Wow, the difficulty jumped quite a bit. We were mining at 0.36 for quite a while. Now it's 2.73. Blocks are far fewer.

I think mining Bitcoins with GPU is easier than this?

new pool up at rpc.cryptocoinpools.co.uk we wont charge any tx fees as an introductory offer Smiley

Wow....the ahmed_bodi.  Thanks for all you have done for the cryptocurrency community in general.  Much much respect and goodwill.
Although I do not offer much hash rate I will mine your pool exclusively. (No offense to the other pool operators).

[6 days behind] when opening wallet 1st time.

No pre-mine you say?  Huh

I sure hope not. I'd hate to hate another coin.

EDIT: Nevermind. Replaced the conf file and saw the 9hrs behind when loading. Why does it say 6 days behind originally?

http://rpc_blockcrawler.miners-point.com/index.php

block 0 mined on december the 3rd (probably for test, or because it's the genesis block)
block 1 mined less than 10 hours ago, when the coin was launched.

So no, no premine, but a little pseudo instamine with the first 720 blocks at the lowest difficulty mined in ~ 30mn.
Just after the difficulty rised to compensate, and it's only because of the added hashrate and the slow diff retarget that blocks were mined in ~10s instead of 2mn until the last diff retarget (block 3600).
But catcoin was far worse at the beginning, and look where it's at...

no worries everyone gets the same "6 days behind" when they first open the wallet. close your wallet and follow the remainder of the instructions and you will be fine.

also you can look at the block chain to see that only the first block was created 6 days ago on 12/23, i assume this is when the dev started this project.
the next block was discovered today. so it is not pre mined

to those that may be having issues with wallet not syncing. you may want to try replacing the ronpaulcoin.conf file. i deleted the one i created, downloaded the one from the OP and presto when i opened the wallet i started to sync within a minute.

Okay dumb question (whhHHAAAT?) anyway wallet has been sitting there for 10 mins with no sync? do I have to go in and change anything in the DLLs? Or is it just that there are so few wallets connected at this point? I downloaded original wallet about 8 hours ago.
