The first match of the day in esl pro league is between Complexity-Imperial. The first map is inferno which Imperial chose. They are currently leading 7-0 and I think Imperial will be the winner of the match because they are the better team both as a team and in terms of experience.
The second match of the day will be between Furia and BIG. It is hard to predict the winner of this match but I think Furia is one step ahead. But big also has the potential to win. We can say that it is a match where simple mistakes and instant decisions will be effective.

We might see a closer upper-bracket final tomorrow as Team Liquid's coach posted on Twitter that Boxi won't be playing anymore due to a medical issue and their analyst Jabbz will be taking in the support role.

https://twitter.com/Blitz_DotA/status/1631782259475853313

The back to back games might favor EG's momentum plus their crowd advantage
I was about to point this out as well but I think one series won't be enough to shake EG off though since these pro players are used to playing several matches a day. And i'm hoping they'll win because I feel like whoever wins on the Talon vs Entity series would easily take care of SR if they're the ones to win the series.

Oh wow, Liquid had been looking unstoppable until now and I was expecting them to win this Major. Boxi is an integral part of the team and that does put wrench into the works now. Jabbz is a capable player for sure but Boxi is irreplaceable to be honest.
Damn, I already made a bet on Liquid to win the series before reading the news. Couldn't believe they were giving equal odds for this game ans snatched at the opportunity. Ah well, it is what it is, now the odds on Gladiators will continue to drop and it isn't even worth it to cover. If I could get yesterday odds I would play GG to win 1 map. That seems like a best play now but I missed my chance.

Doesn't matter, at least I got something on late matches yesterday. I was sure Talon has that third map after seeing the drafts but still was sweating quite a bit before they killed that TB for the first time.

Placing a parlay on the favorites for the two EPL S17 matches today.
Won this parlay. FURIA vs Movistars was closer than I expected, especially on the first and second map.

Three matches on EPL S17 for tonight. No clear favourites here so it should be fun. I'm betting on Complexity, BIG, and SAW.

That's so unfortunate. TL has been cruising the major flawlessly so far. Looking forward to seeing how they will adapt and perform in their upcoming match.

I'd be going for -1.5 for Shopify Rebellion in here simply because they are well rested and had the chance to watch how EG plays and learn of some of the strategies they have used during their series with Team Aster.
Unlucky mate, EG takes game 1 in a convincing fashion. Gave no chance for Shopify for a comeback. Draft for game 2 is going on and at the moment, I'd say it favors EG for game 2 as well.

i thought the match is for tomorrow lol.

I'd be going for -1.5 for Shopify Rebellion in here simply because they are well rested and had the chance to watch how EG plays and learn of some of the strategies they have used during their series with Team Aster. Favorites are SR right now but the -1.5 maps option is still juicy enough for the taking if you want some extra risks to take. I wouldn't call it SR win too early, but with the state of EG right now--drained and tired from the previous match--it's easier for me to favor SR. It will also add if Rtz gives us some more highlights during the day that favors their team to advance in the tournament.

That's old EG vs New EG. -1.5 on Shopify could be a bit risky as EG has crowd advantage and they are playing fairly well. RTZ has been looking good though and has had a fair few highlights(especially, his SF). Shopify vs EG starts in another 15 mins. Should be a great contest. Shopify should win it but it could be close.

The back to back games might favor EG's momentum plus their crowd advantage, but I don't think it's enough if you're physically and mentally tired playing for hours straight with the highest pressure there is. Sound cues from the crowd might help EG, but I think SR can also use it to their advantage and rethink of their moves and let EG come to them. Overall, I weight SR's chances to move forward to be bigger than EG. Strat wise and meta wise, SR has it, while EG so far has won most of their matches through clutches. If they can't make it work, they're basically done for.

Edit: Update on the previous match. Talon surprised Team Spirit and got themselves a comeback win after being down game 1 and were down in game 3 as well and it felt like it could be curtains for Talon but they made an impressive comeback. All the matches have been very entertaining. Some really good dota, even though the patch is very very old at this point and there's not much innovation left in it.

BIG was the winner of the BIG-SAW match. I have to say that they played better as a team. They deserved the match, but they struggled a bit on the overpass map of their choice. I think they saw with their own eyes that they need to work better. We can say that young awper hyped caught a good form. BIG rejuvenated the team and parted ways with syrson. It seems to have worked for now. Let's see how he will perform in the upcoming matches.

I almost thought we'll be seeing a third game because that second game should've been a win for SR but Team Liquid was able to hold on and stop their power spike during the 20+ mins mark.

With SR knocked down to the lower bracket it looks like we could possibly see a matchup between them and EG if they can beat Team Aster tomorrow.

They really will be matching as Team Aster have been beaten by EG but we don't need to wait until tomorrow as the match will happen after the series of Talon and Team Spirit. If you want to bet for that match guys, my tip is that Shopify Rebellion has got the upper hand on this match. Why?
Because Evil Geniuses just came from a tough 3 matches against Team Aster and that has probably drained their minds already. Whilst for SR, this is their only match for this day. I wonder why the scheduling is like that but well, since it's in the lower bracket, all of the favors and toughness are in there.

In the first match of the day, we watched movistar riders vs furia. Furia managed to defeat their opponent 2-1. The first map was the inferno map chosen by MR. Although they finished the first half ahead, they were defeated by eating a comeback. The second map was anubis. MR won the map that went into overtime. In the decider map, Furia was defeated with a superior performance and became the winner of the match.

When ame and faith_bian retires, LGD is no longer the same but still they're a favorite team but then yeah, someone has to go home.

Just a few minutes until the game starts.

They remained the favorite despite having new players because they were able to surprise us after dominating and nearly having a flawless performance in the Chinese qualifiers. Many thought that the other Chinese teams are the ones to dominate after Ame, Faith_bian, and XinQ aren't playing with PSG.LGD anymore. How I wish the team was complete in this Lima Major. Not saying Old Eleven is that bad, but the roster that was able to have great teamwork during the Chinese qualifiers would've fared better. Hopefully, in the next majors, we cannot see teams that are incomplete, especially visa issues which is too weird knowing these players had been playing in many different places for a long.
Well, these visa issues should come to an end and to solve this will be through Valve themselves. It's like giving them the passes to the players that are needed to go to the venue and they should come to help them.

As for the PSG.LGD and its old roster, it won't come back. Those players that have announced their retirement were already retired and it's very unlikely that they will come out of retirement.

Although I've seen those players that have come out of retirement and played again but most chinese players aren't like that, if they quit and retire, they do. But they can comeback as future coaches.

Yeah I thought that SR was going to win that 2nd map because at some point it reached 17k gold differences. Its a pretty huge lead though and most of the time, there isnt really any comeback out of this huge differences but yeah glad our bet pulled that one through

I dont really have any favourites on lower bracket but Im taking this underdog for sure. They hold Team Spirit on group stage for 1-1 draw so there is a good chance that they could win against them

Movistar riders played very badly in the heroic match and made simple mistakes. In the complexity match, they played better and won the match. Movistar riders managed to win 2-0 in the match where Mopoz showed his difference.
One of the most important matches of the day was the match between Mouz-Furia. Mouz managed to defeat furia 2-0. Mouz was better than furia as a team and we can already see this as a score. But in furia kscerato is wasted. I think he deserves a better team, he is a special and talented player and the igl of the team is dragging him down.

Placing a parlay on the favorites for the two EPL S17 matches today.

Overall in the Heroic-BIG match, people's thought that Heroic would easily win the first two maps. There are positive changes in the BIG game and the hyped has adapted to the team and is contributing for now. Teams lost on maps of their own choosing. Actually lost on the BIG nuke map, also BIG was also very close on this map. In the ongoing game, the decider map Vertigo. It's a head-to-head fight on game.
I'm impressed with BIG performance last night. BIG taken a map off of Heroic, lost Nuke in overtime, and all three maps almost went to the full 30 rounds, so that was an impressive feat. Tonight's match against SAW should be an easy one.

Revenge arcs, I like it Cheesy

Hopefully EG pulls through. I want to see Arteezy and the squad to go all out against the org that let go of them that easily. From a business standpoint, it might be the best move, but there could have been a lot of options for the organization before releasing the roster. But yeah, Aster and EG is a coin toss atm. Both have their high points and have their low points. Between the two of them, Aster is more likely to qualify given their momentum and their capability to completely remove the defending champions from the tournament, though I'm still rooting for EG just so the face-off can happen.

+2.5 maps is a good and quick bet for Aster vs EG. Both fighting for tournament life, so both teams would surely give their all.

I want LGD to still perform but it really is painful to see them lose some games that could have been theirs. The roster is quite good mechanically but not fully in sync. A lot could still happen since the road to the International is still long. They could still improve and turn the tables around. But yeah, one can only hope by now.l that they improve and Xiao8 help them a lot.

Yeah, this is just the first major and there are still lots of tournaments between now and TI. They have a lot of opportunities to improve their team chemistry. I expect them to be better on the next Major. Hopefully, they will be complete and no visa issues that could cripple their team.

For the next set of matches later today, i'll be betting on Team Liquid [email protected], SR showed up against Team Spirit but I don't think they have a chance against Team Liquid.

Damn thats a better odds, I got the same bet at 1.65 but as long as Team Liquid ended up winning this then its still great. Its risky but I'd love to take a shot on this. Worst case scenario would be Arteezy pulling something crazy like he did in the previous game against Team Spirit then somehow SR ended up winning that clutch game

Team Liquid has shown their dominance in the first match. Once I saw Lina on Team Liquid, I was thinking it is an automatic win. Maybe SR was thinking they can counter Lina but that is just not true. This patch, Lina is just too strong to give to your opponent. It is either you get it or you ban it. And true enough, team Liquid dominated the first map. It is now 2nd map and SR banned Lina on the first ban round.

Earlier, Gaimin Gladiator made easy work of Entity. I think Entity is quite strong in this tournament, but Gaimin Gladiator made it look too easy to beat Entity. Quinn is just too strong and confident with his new team. They are now guaranteed top 3 and waiting for the winner of Team Liquid vs Shopify Rebellion.
