2 Chinese teams are already surely out for the Dota 2 Lima major's group stages.

For group A --> Ehome

For group B --> Knights

Both teams still has some remaining games for the last day but, it won't be enough for them to be saved.

More details about the group stage --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Lima_Major/2023/Group_Stage

Must have sucked for them to come into a game knowing that whatever the outcome is, they won't be able to proceed to the next stage. Then again, these teams performed quite poorly and does not really have any more weight in the tournament progression. Tundra is also a disappointment, but I guess that remark that they only win because they know how to exploit certain mechanics might be true; in a classic Dota with no cheeky plays available, they struggle in the laning phase and in the mid game which is quite uncharacteristic of a TI champion. Even Team Spirit is still a force to be reckoned with even after they lost some key parts of the original TI10 roster.

Eternal Fire managed to beat Mibr 2-0 without difficulty on both maps. It was an expected result, after defeating teams such as EG, MIBR, I don't think EF will be the underdog for such teams, of course, although the squad and the game seem to be settled now, the desired results cannot always be obtained. The Anubis map makes EF superior especially against such teams. As soon as this map came out, EF adapted very well and started working continuously. If you quickly make a new map the map you play best, you have an advantage in the map pool. Because the opponents may have played this map a little.

What really surprised is that Shopify Rebellion exist while EG team is still active too. I thought EG rebrand to Shopify.  Cheesy

The best of 2 in group stage is designed to make a quick result.

Why would they not exist? They are not connected to EG except for the fact that the roster is the previous EG roster before EG went to South America. They are a new organization now.

Not much expectation from these two teams anyway. What I do not expect is Tundra, the defending TI champion, dropping into the 6th spot. And they can be eliminated if either TSM or Execration can sweep their next matches. TSM is against EG while Execration will be against team Spirit tomorrow. They are against strong teams but they can at least get a draw which will put them into a tiebreaker against Tundra. One fatal mistake and Tundra can be out of the tournament.

Fnatic lost against G2 as expected. But it should not be forgotten that they had a good nuke performance. I think they ended G2's winning streak in nuke.
Eternal Fire took a 1-0 lead against Mibr by winning the anubis map of their choice. The other map is Vertigo.
The winner will face Fnatic. I think EF will beat mibr.

Eternal Fire are fighting for their last chance in the ESL Pro League now. Their current opponent is MIBR and the series has started a short time ago. Anubis is the first map on which Eternal Fire are doing really spectacular work. I think they will be beating MIBR as well here. I see the second map as Vertigo. It is MIBR's pick actually but it is also a favourable map for Eternal Fire. We have watched them winning really critical matches there.

Considering only these maps they should be able to finish the job by 2-0. If we see the decider as well things can get really interesting. Nuke is another good map for the Turkish team but they have started to get pretty worrying results there.

Map 2 of G2 vs Fnatic really messed up my predictions. I thought it would be a smooth sailing from the map picks but G2 doesn't seem to know what they're doing in Nuke. It may not be their best map but they could have done better as CTs, but no, they played like a tier 2 team on that match up. Lots of bad calls, careless peeks, and literally just wasting too much time without perfect execution.

Expected a 2-0 for G2 to win something but I guess I took my chances too far.

IHC defeated Evil geniuses 2-1. EG was really weak in performance. Both teams won their chosen maps and when the match went to the decider map, IHC won with their good play. IHC was the better team as a team. Especially on the last map, what blitz did was important. It should be noted that I took match-winning rounds. Now we are watching the G2-fnatic match. Fnatic started the first half 11-4 down on the vertigo map of their choice.

More losing bets. Shopify Rebellion ffs went weird by losing the 2nd map to Knights. That was the 1st time the Knights managed to win a map. It would've been easier if Group stage series are best of 3 so at least we can stay away from a draw. Cheesy But this makes the system unique and harder to predict outcomes.

This is normal on every group stage which top seed team always give 1 map to the underdog team because they are already experimenting with their hero. What really surprised is that Shopify Rebellion exist while EG team is still active too. I thought EG rebrand to Shopify.  Cheesy

I'm happy Geek managed to steal a map out of Liquid. That paid for my lack of sleep by staying overtime with the games. I believe they can enter the upper bracket as their last games are manageable but they need to focus and not choke their chances.
Yeah, they've snatched one win against Team Liquid and their first win was really convincing on how great they were.

But on the 2nd game, I think that they've been outdrafted and at the same time, they've been outplayed. Nisha stood out with his TA and how quick the farm he has made.

It's a good learning experience for the Geek since Team Liquid is one of the most desirable teams to be beaten out because they really are considerably a strong team.

Lima major groups are wild so far as I've just witness one of the crazy games in the last period of Dota 2 as EG had a 90% winning probability and managed to trow it all away in favor of Tundra who had a 90% percent winning rate as well and guess what ...they trow it as well and EG managed to win after 63 minutes...crazy. Grin Grin Grin

It's best to skip the group stages given the complexity of the games that are being held right now. It's as if there aren't any clear favorites in here except maybe GG at the moment. Everyone is still trying to get their footing and their senses of dota once more after the first rounds of DPC transpired. Well, the EG vs Tundra is a classic game of punishing mistakes after mistakes, but not having enough gas at the tank to power through and convert to a win. It's good Dota honestly, and I can't complain if we receive a lot of these games even during the group stages!

Eternal Fire is battling with Fnatic. Honestly, I thought eternal fire would win, but now both teams have won the map of their choice and extended the match to the decider map. Eternal fire is not performing very well. But the nuke map is a map they like. It should not be forgotten that they lost 16-14 to a form team like G2. I will be impatiently waiting for the last map to start.

I really don't get how Eternal Fire still continue to lose on Nuke. It's really like the map they play on the most in general. They must be ready for any challenge there all the time as a result.

But today they lost to fnatic also there. I was expecting a loss on Overpass though but I was hopeful about finishing the job by 2-1. fnatic were a team that Eternal Fire beat before. But they seemed stronger today. In a round on Overpass, KRIMZ put on a really good show by 4 AK kills. He was really impressive in general in the series in fact. Eternal Fire need to use their last chance really carefully. Their competitor will most probably be MIBR. They can beat them in fact and go for the 4th place decider.

On the Nuke map, you lose 16-14 to a team in form like G2. But you can't do anything against fnatic. It doesn't make sense. Of course, this is also because xantares was not on his game. It has to be said that he had a very bad performance in the whole Fnatic match. Of course, it's not all his fault, but in general, his performance is effective because they set up their playstyle according to what he can do. When one of the other 4 players couldn't show extra performance, they had to lose the match.

Yeah, I still see a lot of my friends betting on this group stages and they're taking advantage of the high odds from the underdog teams which mostly are from the SEA region.
The odds are way too good on SEA teams since they've been underperforming for quite a while but not in this major though.

Geek Slate is doing pretty good and they're just about to beat Team Liquid on the game 1 despite that TL already in favor during the early game. I'm now a skem and kokz fan boy.

LOL! For real, their team is doing it props to the other members too.
I was surprised when they suddenly turned it around as I assumed Team Liquid already got it in the bag since their lead was continuously building up. Geek Slate's lineup reminds me of how Talon dealt with the Lina against Gladiators on the first day. Also, there's BetBoom losing to HR 0-2, it's probably one of the biggest upsets today.

It's hard to make bets on these best of two series'. That's why it's better to bet when the play offs is in and the group stages are done. That's where these teams are getting more serious than the previous matches that they've been.
Or wait until the last day of the groups since that's usually the time when certain teams need to step up as they can be one win or lose away from qualifying or getting eliminated.

PSG.LGD is not in a good placement in the Lima Major. It's obvious that they are having tons of troubles when it comes to their picks and what strategies they need to employ in order to get a more comfortable game. Honestly, I was expecting that they'll be miles ahead of GG when it comes to group stages being the LGD that I used to know, but it seems that they are not that cohesive yet as a team and they still have a lot of internal struggles to resolve especially in hero picks.
Gaimin Gladiators are actually good even in the regionals. I watched their games and Quinn, and the crew was actually on point every time. Doing well in Lima is just the continuation of what they have started early in the season. I know they will finish strong in this major.

It is too early to say that LGD has problems since it is too early in the tournament. We are just not used to PSG starting weak but maybe they can finish strong this time.
And with the 2nd day, currently, I see them at rank 1 and they're doing good on the group stages. Right now, I am watching them playing against Execration.
The game is in favor of Execration and this is just the first game and I think if this game ever ends in favor of Execration, they might just get a par and tie for this series as 1-1.
