Which do you think is better and why?

These two altcoins are both good platform and both are potentials but still I would rather go for Ethereum, because Neo is just next into Eth, though in the near future it will get higher like what happened to ethereum when it is starting.

I like both projects but believe in ETH's future more. This is due to their longer (and efficient) presence on the market, their acquisitions, and the erc20. Without ERC20, we wouldn't be seeing much of the cryptocurrencies now, would we? Therefore, I'd go for ETH.
Furthermore, since I'm already commenting, I'd like to pose a question to all ICO investors: Do you think that investing in ongoing projects is a good idea? I'm currently considering an investment in these two: Cointed and Giftz. Both seem promising but I'm still hesitant. Can anyone offer a solution and provide me with more info?

I agree, what makes ETH so great is the variety of tokens it has running on their platform. If you want to invest in an ongoing project I'd suggest checking out ATF, their sales start in a week. Both the coins you mentioned are really good (Giftz and CTD), but I believe ATF will be bigger than those.

Ethereum and NEO has both solid platforms, they are almost identical to each other but what i like more about NEO,it is cheaper than ethereum today but has more advance technology than ethereum. We can call NEO as ETH 2.0 because NEO is a copycat of ethereum but upgraded version if you do some research you will find what i am talking about either way these are both good coins to hold.

NEO supports all known programming languages as opposed to Ethereum, for example ) this is a great advantage for developers

NEO and Ethereum - choose which one will you take? Sorry, can not help it. We care about this debate because we are investors. From a developer's perspective, functionality is paramount. No brand loyalty in blockchain yet. So if a platform can do something better than its competitors, it will win over the developers. So which one is better?
"difference" between Ethereum and the NEO, but they argue with a bit of justice. They are looking for something, do not explore it well, only explore one aspect, or are not holistic in their analysis and do not explain why the difference is even important and its relevance to the real world.

Both are ok but I'll choose Ethereum. It's already proven and no doubt that it will be the next bitcoin of the future. So I will invest more for Ethereum.

NEO is backed by the Chinese government. This has become the most important factor for NEO’s popularity in China, making it China’s first open-source public blockchain project. NEO is also backed by WINGS, Alibaba, and various Microsoft-like giants.

There is no official support by the Chinese government, this is a rumor. There is nothing for the government to support NEO specifically. ETH proved itself and provided the infrastructure for the whole community.

I will admit that I explore NEO more in-depth than Ethereum. This is because so much information is widely available for Ethereum. With NEO, there is much less. As such, I focus on explaining NEO and then comparing that explanation to Ethereum’s capability.
If Ethereum is Goliath, NEO is David. If Ethereum is Brad Pitt, NEO is Brad Pitt’s cousin, Zach Pitt—younger, better dressed, and more talented — but right now relegated to serving cocktails to Brad and his friends while he acts on the side. Ethereum did it first. It was revolutionary and exciting and took the crypto world by storm.

So I visited this guy's account and viewed his post. Literally all the next 3 posts he made after the one I quoted is also copied from different articles.

How did this guy reach full member with these? I'm sure his previous posts are copied as well. And why hasn't any moderator or anyone at all noticed these. Can we get some DT members to tag this guy?

I think its better to choose ethereum. Ethereum have a potential to fly high because its price is stable and this coin is quite popular.

I think we don't see Neo potential right now and we will see in future-eth looks now more stronger and popular but Neo will show in future good developments

Cardano Smiley

You have nothing to base that on because Cardano doesn't even exist yet.

Despite people ragging on ETH and claiming neo, waves, or ada is better, I still am a firm believer in the ethereum platform.

The #1 reason why is that it is PROVEN to work and already is integrated into everyday crypto use.
No other platform comes even close to the widespread adoption and success of eth.
To me, that shows way more value than speculation.

The #2 reason is that there is active development on ETH to improve it.
People went bonkers when cryptokitties showed that the platform doesn't scale well.
Yeah, it was bad, and it's bad now too, but there are real life projects developing now to solve this very scalability issue.
Namely, raiden network and chainlink.
I'm pretty confident that the problems will be fixed.

I think both are very strong ones. And despite any security or scalability problems, all of it will be solved finally. The main point at the end of the day is which network will work faster

Both are super, but I choose NEO. I find NEO more open to development. As a percentage, NEO rises more than Ethereum.

Although ETH has been very successful and there are many projects based on ETH.
However, there is no denying that NEO has many advantages. The number of transactions per second is more than that of ETH, and the handling fee of NEO transfer is 0, and the NEO can get free GAS in the local wallet. Grin

Both present tokens, shares in a project/platform that are designed to offer protocols for developing coins (ERC20 vs. NEP5) and smart contracts.

I am not a technical guy, but from what I read seems that both are working fine and offer fine tools for developers and their promoters have a great sense for marketing. Hence in order to analyse which one is better it comes down to the adoption, how much is each of them used and the quality of the projects built on this protocol.

Currently there are many projects built on Ethereum platform, a massive inflow of new ERC20 coins every day, exchanges working solely on ERC20, metamask protocol for direct communication with Ethereum network etc. The only downside is that most of the ERC20 coins are barely shitcoins that are dissipating the attention, taking it from the more serious projects. But there are indeed some promising ERC20 coins out there - VIU, EOS, TenX, Ox....

There is not much on NEO platform. But there are many announcements for 2018.

Hence - which one is better? Technically - I don't know. Commercially, currently - Ethereum. Future hot prospect, especially for investments if done at a right time (which I believe is now) - NEO.
