Among the interesting news for me, first of all, the transfer of Pierre Gasly to Alpine.  Of course, I don’t know how much it cost Red Bull, but in general, Alpine is now showing good results in moving to the top of the leaderboard.  I think Gasley will help them.  He is only 26 years old.  He can also race for many seasons.

I also learned with interest that Audi will start racing in 2026.  Curious what results it will show.  The truth is, we all really have to wait a long time. Smiley

For this year I am still to see where Alpine vs McLaren fight will end. And whether the second place for drivers' championship will be Charles or Checo. Not much...

The competition between Perez and Leclerc has been heated up even more on the recent weeks. Perez is ahead by only one point:

I don't know if Perez can continue to stay ahead of Leclerc until the end of the season. Because I don't believe Verstappen and Perez have the same cars now. Leclerc is still faster than him in general but the last race was different of course. Maybe Leclerc pushed too hard and wore out the tyres earlier than Perez. I think Leclerc will stay ahead.

This is the current situation about the rivalry between McLaren and Alpine:

Alpine have a nice advantage and I don't expect them to lose this easily. Because Ricciardo has had a terrible season so far and collected only 29 points. He might continue to drag down the team in the remaining races. Ocon - Alonso duo are quite balanced as there isn't a huge point gap between them.

Why not watch the highlights of the Grand Prix? You could see the link below.

https://youtu.be/0J7cmh3MLp4

All the issues with it the race it’s really complicated with the tractor and having the poor visibility while driving it’s really hard and all the signages that are flying around. It was really interesting.

I prefer to watch the race as I want to, not get others decide for me what's important. For example I am watching most drivers, not only the top few.
So thank you, for the link, but it's far too short for me. I've already found the full race, just didn't get the time yet to watch it again. But this is what week-ends are for  Wink

Ferrari has a good car designer in Mattia Binotto.  I think he should return and solely play that role and have the team find a better team principal.  A new race strategist would be nice too.  Lol.

Ferrari had a pretty good car this year. Maybe they work more at the reliability and, indeed, find better strategist (or any strategist).
I wish to see better races next year. The real competition between Max and Charles was too short. Maybe next year Mercedes also comes with a better car (possibly McLaren too). So there's a good chance for a more spectacular year. I hope so.

For this year I am still to see where Alpine vs McLaren fight will end. And whether the second place for drivers' championship will be Charles or Checo. Not much...

It can really be another Red Bull and Verstappen year on the condition teams like especially Ferrari and Mercedes don't make much improvement. I just want to be hopeful about them to get better. I can't be sure of Ferrari because they don't give confidence to me about their future now. They made so many simple mistakes throughout the season that I've lost my confidence in them a lot. If they still struggle with durability issues or doing bad pits then there would be nothing changing for them.

On the other hand, I have a bigger hope about Mercedes. They've already made a big progress by getting very close to Ferrari's level. Their next season car must be much faster than this as they have been working on it for a long time. They started this quite early as they were out of the championship race quite early.

A lot of shade has been thrown at Red Bull's way for being too dominant this season.  But think about this, what of Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, Verstappen and the rest of the RBR crew went over and took over Ferrari's current team, I'd say they'd be the team to beat in F1.  It's not the team, it's really the people running the team.

Japan first practice just showed how the cars dealt with the rain and most were off track.
Ferrari's don't handle the turns in those deep puddles too well. Both Haas cars did the same with going off into the turns.
That's why I agree with what was said before, skills and experience could be key factors. They estimate there are 40% chances for rain on Sunday, so it will be probably another rainy race. I do not think we will see Verstappen as a champion this weekend.
Yet it happen. I had to watch a few youtube videos after the race, while I was watching the race live but didn't catch the moment inwhich he found out he did have enough points to be certain of champion ownership.
Max finding out infront of the monitors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WLIoCUxBxY
Someone telling him during the interview he was champion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFfZvF0V72o
Interview post race that he was announced champion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD4lzphjhhg

There was an incident that could have ended tragically for Gasly and nobody really knew it was going on until footage showed he was inches away from crashing into the lift that was hauling out Sainz car from the track.
The conditions were so rainy that he couldn't see it until the last split second and avoided a collision that could of been fatal.

Here is the footage:

^  Kinda like when Mercedes and Hamilton almost had every season dominated since the engine change to the V6 turbo and before 2022's spec change?  Cheesy  I thought everybody has gotten used to it by now.  A tight season like we had last year doesn't really happen much in F1.  So I guess with the current specs, expect another Red Bull year again next season.  Adrian Newey is a technical genius..  I mean so too is Binotto but they're not really that good with strategy.

So yeah...  It's better to take it race by race and not really mind the championship points.  And from a betting perspecrive maybe Verstappen might hold back a little bit since he already won the season.  Could be good for Leclerc.

I want to point out that overall I am disappointed with this F1 racing season. Verstappen's early victory makes the next races not very attractive. But in any case, the beginning of the 2022 season was interesting, but then everything went somehow not very interesting.
I admit that this year Red Bull were on top, the team can be congratulated on the excellent work. But Ferrari me disappointed. In general, the 2022 season came out so-so, rather blurry, not bright and not particularly memorable.

It is clear that Max owes so much to Perez during this season, and of course last season as well. It was thanks to him that he won at Suzuka, but he is also a great driver himself as well. That run at the first turn where he passed Charles so fast even during wet tire conditions, that was something epic only the greats could do, not many of the younger guys under 30 could go that turn at that weather with that much speed.

But that’s the thing that makes him great isn't it? He never yields, and he attacks no matter what, he could crash out and he would rather crash out than yield the position, which is the reason why he won 2 in a row now.

The "title race" was still going to be on if Leclerc wasn't overtaken by Perez by the penalty given to him. Leclerc could have been a little faster to keep Perez behind easier for at least one lap. But it wasn't a very good day for Ferraris I'm afraid. Verstappen won his title by a 27-second gap. It was a horrible day at the same time because of FIA's interesting mistakes. This shouldn't have happened again in a race that was crucial for the championship.

There are still four races to go but the season has actually ended for most people. As I'm in Sportsbet.io's F1 pool the exciting run is continuing for me.  Grin

I woke up just for Suzuka to be honest and I'm glad Max took his title here because it will be forever in history for Suzuka fans and not only. To take a title where Senna took 3 , you have from me nothing but respect Max and a well deserved one. Big big big mention to Perez to once again put up a fight that made Charles to do that mistake and give the title to Max Grin.

Next year , Ferrari should take important notes and comeback stronger and with an entire new strategy lol.
Suzuka is a nice track, it's like a pilot's track, but it's very old and very narrow. These large cars cannot race properly or pass here. The best car always wins the last 10 races. Suzuka should be off the calendar.

On the other hand, I think Leclerc was the most potential driver after Verstappen on the grid this season. Maybe he could finish the season in 3rd place but Perez should have passed him before he got between rb18 and summer. If Ferrari solves tire wear next season, the championship could come with a good performance from Leclerc. At the beginning of the season, Ferrari had a slightly better car than Red Bull, but was already heading towards Leclerc for the championship. They need to spread this throughout the season.

I didn't wake up for it and I was happy with the decision. 3 hours...
I've watched the end of the race, it was superb, with Perez vs Leclerc, with Hamilton vs Ocon, with Alonso vs Russell...

I hope I will be watching a rerun today. Whoever has missed it, I advise to look for a rerun, it worth it!

12th win of the season and the championship with 4 races to an end. As I understand it, today there was some confusion about how points are awarded (it seems to be said that there will be no full points due to the cut distance), but in the end it all ended in Verstappen's favor. In any case, there was no more intrigue. I wonder if in the remaining 4 races he will try to get the maximum or maybe help his teammate in the fight for 2nd place?

Eh, so Verstappen is king. Thought Ferrari would try and stretch this out a little longer, but after taking pole, he wasn't going to delay his celebrations was he?

Title parade is delayed another couple of hours, though, so there's still time for you guys to tune in if you want to revel/whine about it for a while haha.

The race has been red flagged for over an hour now.  I think I'm gonna doze off if there's another 30 mins of this sht.  Don't know why the FIA just let them slap on the full wets and get on with the race.

I don't see anything that could stop Max from winning his 2nd title tomorrow but the pressure will be on him and on Redbull so let's see how they will perform but then again, I don't see anything to stop Max.

Mercedes a big disappointment in qualifies but maybe in race they will have the necessary pace to fight for a podium but p6 for Hamilton seems far from podium in my opinion. Sad

We have left qualifying session behind. Verstappen met the expectations and got the pole position. But it was by a very slight difference like 0.01 second. Leclerc improved his time but it was only enough to get this much behind Verstappen. But it was important for him to improve otherwise Sainz was going to get past him. If that happened then maybe there would be some issue between Ferrari drivers. Because Sainz is a really ambitious driver and wouldn't like to yield Leclerc easily.

I am really disappointed, Hamilton is 6th! Ocon 5th? wow, I did not expect that.
The weather forecast is still the same - it will rain, the only question is "when exactly?". Maybe we will have "dry" start, but then rain hit during the race. Anyway, I expect we will see safety car at least once. And then maybe they will do more pit stops, so it will become even more complicated.
