It seems like Binotto is really preparing to leave Ferrari very soon. Ferrari have already made offers to some names and these people are:

- Andreas Seidl
- Franz Tost
- Gerhard Berger
- Frédéric Vasseur

Only Vasseur seems to be interested in the job as the rest of these names have replied to them negatively. Ferrari needed a change for certain but I'm not sure if it should have been Binotto. I would have liked to see changes in-team only instead. I believe that there are many people who should be replaced with more skilled ones. They should drop the mistake amount to minimum next season to have a proper season. Neither Leclerc nor Sainz deserve these amateurish mistakes which cost them so much in a season.

So true. In Italy , they are counting down his last days as Ferrari F1 chief and I think per total , it's a very wise decision to let Binotto go and Vasseur has massive experience in F1 Paddock in order to bring some positive energy and also to implement more respect for the brand Ferrari in F1 and to stop the clown fiesta during the important races and decisions.

You're also right when you say that more people should be responsible for awful Ferrari season but the chaos was from inside but Ferrari are VERY LOYAL to their crew so I doubt we will see more important people being replaced. Meanwhile , I hope this new season will bring an old school face for Ferrari. Grin

Also funny how Alonso had flashbacks in first day of driving his new Aston Martin as he thought he ended up in old Jaguar garage from 2002 Grin

No the video that made the chart of logos didn't include them so to give them any more exposure I would think.
Didn't notice if they removed the symbol from their cars before the race in Brazil when all the instances with the company's mishaps were going on.

Yes seen the confirmed news about Binotto just this morning.
Will see where Ferrari goes from here into the next season.
Should make for some more confidential material for the Drive to Survive series upcoming season.

F1 had alot of sponsorships for cryptocurrency this race year.
Here are the more prominent ones if you watched any of the races this past year.

You forgot FTX on the Mercs Grin Grin
I'm sure they've payed quite a lot of money for the advertising be there (except the last ~2 races).
Of course, they'll probably be missing in 2023.

Edit: breaking news: according to Italian newspaper, Binotto is stepping down.

Yes it was the last race of his career.
They did a little shrine to him before the race in this video clip right at the beginning:

He had a good spin on the track and an interview right after getting out of Aston Martin for the very last time:

I feel like Checo couldn't get the second position because the car wasn't as dominant as people think it is, and Checo was using it to help Max and not win races, there is a difference. It wasn't Rosberg vs Hamilton issue, it was literally Checo just being out there defending so Max could get away with a big win.

The car wasn't as dominant as the points show, because Max was the first driver and he gets the points, but the difference in points was due to Ferrari having a few DNF and also a ton of strategy problems, look at the whole year, Ferrari lost so many points because of bad strategy calls, that means if they didn't lose points due to those, it could have been much more closer to Max than Checo.

To me all was staged after what happened last week

That's correct.

Shame on Perez who didn't managed to get the second spot with the best car, tons of points away from Max.

Yep, but we have seen that Max is helping Checo only if that doesn't affect his own results. And, for a change, Ferrari had a proper strategy this time.

Verstapen its a shit of a person with a big EGO like most of the champions. LW its the same shit, no matter what they show.

Pretty good conclusion. And I will say something more: not helping your team mate? It has happened before. Getting a hard to beat record of race wins in a season... that will remain for a while; and for Max this was all that matters... unfortunately.

One year ago I was happy for him - he worked for too long and deserved a world title, no matter what Hamilton's fans say - but now.. I've been listening to Checo after the race, I've been listening to Charles, and when Max came I said f.u. and stopped TV.

Verstappen seemed friendly to Perez in this race actually. I heard one time that he radioed about Perez to the team. He said that Perez could really make it by overtaking Leclerc.

To me all was staged after what happened last week, anyway Leclerc deserved the second position in the leaderboard.

Yea , I feel the same but what can we do ? History of this season will remember Max fighting with Charles but the real battle should have been with Perez but even if that was the case , Max is still better than him. Next year I'm not so sure tho ,as I can see Ferrari having a massive change this winter on board section and I can also feel they learned a lot from this year mistakes and they need to deliver next year and same goes for Mercedes and even Aston Martin ? Because Alonso clearly wants a competitive year in 2023 or at least 2024.  Smiley

Mmmm for me its worst for him, because that radio message was full demagogy.

He know most of the fans dont like his attitude, so when he can t make any (h know that) he throw that radio message.... come on...... we are older people.

Superb race from Leclerc, Ferrari did a good race today keeping the RBR lap time and doing a good managment of the tires.
Nothing they can do agains Max, RBR was superior this year and Ferrari got a good start of the season but a lot of engine problems.

Soon we will know if the rumors around Binotto are true or not.

Verstappen seemed friendly to Perez in this race actually. I heard one time that he radioed about Perez to the team. He said that Perez could really make it by overtaking Leclerc. But I still think that they don't have a healthy relationship from now on. Verstappen cost Perez the second spot in the driver standings. I think Perez will come back more different next season. He will be more aggressive and ambitious for winning races. Verstappen is still a more talented driver of course. But we can watch Perez fighting as hard as he can against Verstappen as well.

I agree that Leclerc is pushing like hell. He just needs his team to be better than this. He needs a stronger car than this too. They really had it at the beginning of the season but couldn't keep that strength later. They are just wasting great drivers like Leclerc and Sainz as long as they don't close the gap between them and Red Bull. Even Mercedes have started to get ahead of them in the meantime.

For now, however, it looks like the podium could be VER-PER-HAM (since Hamilton also wants badly to end at least before his teammate).

It has become VER - LEC - PER.  Grin

The race was mostly boring to tell the truth. Perez made me excited first after starting to close the gap with Leclerc in the last laps of the race. But Perez lost an important amount of time while trying to overtake two drivers and Leclerc secured his position. Leclerc finished as the second in the driver standings by like a three-point gap. This makes me question Verstappen's attitude against Perez in the previous race again. Because if Perez got what he needed there then he could have been in Leclerc's position now.

Hasn't Verstappen expressed his interest in replacing his teammate? I think I've read that somewhere a few days back after Verstappen's decision to not give Perez that spot. Dude is an extremely talented driver I'll give him that, but his attitude towards his teammate is really meh. Hopefully Max makes it up with Perez after that incident, but with the way things are going it seems like the rift between the two is still wide. That's drama and I think it will somehow give a little more excitement to this season, to see whether Max makes a swift character development or just leave things the way they are.

However I believe both drivers deserved this position by fighting hard so far. Leclerc dealt with big problems because of Ferrari most of the time. There were some times he also made simple mistakes but it is mostly Ferrari's fault. Maybe if FIA didn't make changes that would affect Ferrari badly in performance then things could have been a little more comfortable for them though. But I believe Ferrari still need to make changes in their crew to decrease the mistakes to minimum.

I'm mostly sad with Leclerc because you can see that guy is really trying to push the limits to secure the second position. It's just that his team isn't really helping him at all with on-the-fly decisions and comms that are really confusing for the man. It's not only the car's performance but also how they coordinate and execute their plans of attack. Dude's so dominant as a driver but his team is holding him back.

Yep, I keep telling here and there that my crystal ball is broken, but some keep believing my predictions Grin

The race was mostly boring to tell the truth.

I had the TV recording the race and I got to watch it only after more than half of it has passed, so I've started watching the recording and go past the boring parts. I agree, they were far too many.

Perez is very ambitious now after the last incidents between him and Verstappen.  Grin  He was impressive from the beginning of qualifying to the end and finished right behind Verstappen. If he was able to push a little more maybe he would have even taken the pole position from Verstappen. But this is an enough signal for the big race tomorrow. I expect Perez to have a much more solid race than Leclerc tomorrow. Qualifying sessions are the best times for Ferrari to show their strength. But even in qualifying Leclerc couldn't get past Perez.

In the race, Ferrari are still having the same issues against Red Bull. The strategies of both teams for these drivers will play the biggest role of course. But Red Bull make mistakes much less than Ferrari so Perez is very likely to finish the season at the 2nd position in the driver standings.

Even more, Verstappen gave the impression that he was convinced and will be helping Checo today (he did already help him in Q3 too, at least partly, providing Checo a very useful aerodynamic net).
So I fear the real threat may be the Mercs today; they really want to prove something and they have a pretty good chance to end before Ferrari.
Or, with some luck for Checo, the fight between Merc and Ferrari could be his chance to have no real competition. I don't know how all this will goo. Let's wait and see.
For now, however, it looks like the podium could be VER-PER-HAM (since Hamilton also wants badly to end at least before his teammate).

Max took the pole and I must say that he is finishing this season of F1 in style and if he wins tomorrow and I assume he will , then he will have a magical season overall , that I don't think it will be topped soon.

Perez took second place and he almost had Max in Q3  Cheesy

Ferrari lads are 3 and 4 with a solid qualifiers as the purpose was clearly finish above Mercedes and they did.

Mercedes has a great pace on Sector 1 % 2 but on the 3rd one they are losing a lot of speed in the corners and they simply couldn't fight with RedBull and neither with Ferrari but race should be different.
It was a great looking qualifying for Max and for Red Bull overall with Perez getting so close to his Q3 timelapse.

Vettel getting into top 10 was a nice way to end his career and starting 9th on the grid is very good way to go out on this desert track.

Can't wait to watch it tomorrow for the last race of the season and hopefully it will an incident free one for atleast once during this year.
