Oh dear  Sad
Can't transfer BTC from Electrum 1.6.1 anymore.
It's asking me to upgrade to version 2.5.1 but when I went to Electrum website they have 2.8.3 version there.

Can I just go ahead and update it or I'm at risk ?

Thank you

Make sure you have your seed phrase and then upgrade.

With all the updates w.r.t. SegWit2x and UASF, there may be more updates in the near term

Win 7 32bit - started installing but I turned it off in mid process = now I can't start instalation process at all. Restarted PC and nothing is happening.
WIN 7 64bit - installed "ok" (no icon on desktop or any other executable file) entered my seed phrase and it stayed stuck on synchronization so turned it off and now I can't turn it ON again.
Only install from scratch.

No good Sad

Now I'm on my 11th attempt to install Electrum on WIN 7 32 and still nothing.

The standalone or or installer?  You have your seed phrase?  Do you have another machine you can try it from?

With this DAG epoch increasing and amd rx eth hashrates decreasing.. Anyone considering selling their amd rx cards for nvidia cards?

Will these amd rx cards not be great for eth soon? At least they should still be fine for zec but what is the best plan going forward (besides selling them and holding cash/coin)

Keep the amd rx cards or trade them for nvidia cards?

Hashrate decreasing HuhHuh

yes  and if you use 2 molex cables  not 2  jacks from 1 cable  it can work.

of course  you can not jack the gear  to 200 watts

Running the 1080 ti  at 75% or less  means  .75 x 250 or .75 x 300  that is 187.5 watts  to 225 watts

and that would be about  94 to 112 watts on that  part.  since you have a second  pcie cable doing the other jack  it would do 94 to 112  and of course  if plugged into  a riser a third  cable from a completely different molex could do 75 safe

It should work.

I would worry more doing it with a 1070  supply all the power to the 1070.

I used these back in the day  mining btc  2012-2013  they never smoked but I tend to downclock and undervolt to be safe.

but recently i bought some smart switches so i can turn the outlet off on the PC through an app,

Are you happy with the switches ? do you have a link ?

The ones i use...They use an app atleast on android to remote turn them off and on and it also keeps track of power usage. Actually is an easy way to know if how your rig is running if you had them on all your rigs...

Question to the people mining to NH :
is there a way in the NH dashboard to see the hashrate chart instead of profitability chart ?

I find it difficult to monitor. For example: sometimes miner are sending hashrate to pool (reported hashrate, as shown in claymore) but pool consider lower calculated hashrate when something is wrong (calculated/effective/current hashrate). In that case, you generally have to reboot RIG.
But it seems harder to detect on NH than on Dwarf, Ethpool or Ethermin, because you have to wait for an average profit decrease to notice if something is wrong.

@RS1x , thank you for the advice !

I use these 'Wemo - Mini WiFi Smart Plug - White'  They run about $30-$40.  Can pickup at HD or BB or buy somewhere online.  I have 2 of them I have no problems with them been using for ~2 months.  I think you can spend a few more dollars and get one that shows power usage, etc.

My hope is the 1080 ti's drift up a bit  as I would sell them off.  I am a bit tired of mining as it is.

Say it aint so..... are you just getting low earnings? My 30 day average as of today after deducting my power cost is $4.71 per 1080ti card since all i have is 1080ti's at the moment.

They make about 4.50. Each  a day for me after power costs.

But for me summer power is costly,  so I would sell off all of the above.

As it would be all profit and less work.

Remember I am older (60) and can get run down a bit easier then some younger members.

$6000 in RX 470/570 4GB cards bought at even $220 each = 27 cards = 800 MH/s = $1500/month profit mining ETH alone.

https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/ethereum-mining-calculator/?h=800&p=4200&pc=0.10&pf=4&d=1250382090840260&r=5.00000000&er=0.09137238&btcer=2496.33120000&hc=0.00

As I said, the AMD RX series are already the best card in profit/cost currently. I don't see the value in selling those cards to replace them with 1080 Ti cards costing 3 times as much to make $4/day each, when the cards you already have are making $2/day each and cost 3 times less. Unless you plan on quitting mining there is no point in selling RX series cards that are paid off, as there are currently no better cards to replace them with.

Stubborn you completely ignore crash and burn . Of coins in general .

You assume you will continue to earn at current rates.

You toss out a certain 6000 for a possible higher profit.

No way would I toss away 6000 sure profit.

Chasing the chance for higher profit.

I never said buy 1080 ti's

I said sell the paid off 6000   And add 6000 certain profit.

Keep 3000 in cash. And if you want hold 3000 in coins.

Mining involves refreshment of gear. It also involves strategy beyond actuall mining.

I am now sitting on a smaller leaner setup with less work and profits in hand.

An absolute certain winner.

You are throwing out certain profit in hope of greater profit.

Now if your power is 2 or 3 cents. You have a point.

But if you are 10 cent or power your method is too risky .

We have had 16 solid months of profit.  Btc is doing a huge restructure .

You fully toss out perfect chance at a 100 percent profit. By holding on to the paid off rx 480s.

Btw it does not mean your method will make less money then my method.

If you are mining with cards that are already paid off you are already a winner and as long as you keep mining, will continue to accumulate value through coins for the cost of your power bill regardless of what happens.

There is no reason to upgrade RX series cards at this moment. I would also say you can reasonably expect to recover close to 50% of your initial $6000 on RX 470/570 series cards even one year from now, so you only need to make up $3000 going forward by continuing to mine to come out ahead rather than selling your cards now for 100%. Sure the market could crash at any time, but historically you have a better chance of coming out ahead if you hold rather than sell.

what  nvidia drivers?  382.33 is decent

what  psu ?

what version of msi 4.3 or 4.4?

no question  it is not doing the four cards correctly.

how much ram 4gb or 8gb?

have you tried nvoc 0018?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/os-nvoc-easy-to-use-linux-nvidia-mining-1854250

or smos?

I was originally running single 1000GQ , now running two 1000GQ .
Driver 382.33
MSI 4.3
4GB DDR4 , Z270 Prime-P
I noticed that the two cards with problems are installed in 1x slots .
Switching to Z97-Soc motherboard with four 16x slots improved it a bit , now occasionally there is core usage problem in only one gpu then it is fixed by restart .

Also i repeat that Claymore Etherum was running rock solid on the Z270 prime even with the 1070 installed

Not sure if it is miner/OS/Mobo , nothing is clear now

Okay

pull the 1070.

and using msi after burner synch the 4 1080 ti's

use tdp 75%
core 100
ram -500
fan 75%

also the exact make and model of your 4 1080 ti's

I have found some 1070's  do not like running with 1080 ti's

the galax katana  1070 slim  did not like running with 1080 ti's using msi afterburner.

I can see  your 4 1080 ti's have different core settings  I wonder why.

are they different sets of 1080 ti's

gigabyte aorus  1080 ti is a bit weird for me

I wonder if you have gigabyte's and they are acting up.

by the way  2 and 3 card rigs  can fix this it could be impossible for a fix on a five card rig due to driver conflict.

Three different Screens without 1070.
75% PT , Core + 100 , memory -500

100% PT , Core + 0, memory -500
