Interesting article today on the BBC:  ''The summer for a bargain? Some of Europe's best players are available for free''
The list of these free players is really impressive: Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan), Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), David Alaba (Bayern Munich), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Angel di Maria (Paris St-Germain) etc.
Who will be the lucky winners and get these players?
It's actually hard for me to understand how it's possible that so many top footballers can leave their clubs for free.

getting a free transfer will be great for players as they can demand more wages because the team signing him will not pay any transfer fees to other club that's why when a player signs on free transfer most of the time he sees a big boost in wage or more then his older club is offering especially when he is demanded by more then one club look at Alaba wage demands he was demanding £400k weekly compared to what he currently earns at Bayern £170K that's more then the double.

Dortmund is definitely one of the clubs to keep an eye on. If they do not qualify for the CL (and they are already 4 points behind), they will probably have to sell some of their players.

I really like their team and although they would probably earn enough by selling only Sancho or Haaland, it would probably make some other players interested in leaving as well. I still hope they will qualify for the CL but if they don't, I hope we're (Liverpool) already standing in front of the line there.

@leela-1334 I wouldn’t get my hopes too high on Kane staying at the club, because he wants to win trophies and that’s clearly not happening at Tottenham, hence I feel that he’ll leave at the end of the season.

Also Bale was always going to be a risky gamble, but sadly it didn’t pay off for Mourinho so you’re right, Bale has to leave for good at the end of the season.

Yes,,, I was never expecting him to stay. He left us, and only came back because he ruined his relationships at Madrid by not learning the language and all those comments. He wants to win trophies but that attitude is not really something that will help him. No hard feelings, he can go as he has not done much for us anyway even when he is give the chance. Better for us ultimately.

Dortmund are considering to sell seven of their players in this summer to straighten their financial condition. The players named to be sold are Jude Bellingham, Axel Witsel, Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro, Giovanni Reyna, Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
How are they going to continue playing as a top team if they sell all this crop of players, that's one thing with Dortmund, they always sell their star players after a couple of seasons, making it impossible to compete with Bayern both in the short and long term, imo, this is one of the reason Bayern Munich will continue to dominate the German league for a very long time.

I was about to say the same thing but I think they could be looking out to sell one of them and not all if all those financial situation of Dortmund is true. Out of these selling Haaland and Jadon Sancho should be enough to get out of their financial crisis. We already saw that quite some teams were interested in Jadon Sancho but Dortmund were asking for a higher bid and Man U were only looking for negotiations if could be made and met. Still I think selling any of these players will dent their squad a lot.

But before that I am wondering if this financial situation as they say is all true (?)

According to the article I post below, Inter might be thinking of substituting Antonio Conte with El Cholo Simeone. He gets 41 million a year at Atlético and Inter would need to to either match or raise that amount to have him in Milan. If Conte can win Scudetto I doubt it would be sent away though.

Wow..  They’re 6th at the table.  And covid prolly f*cked up their finances for sure.  It would be hard paying for those players’ wages.  But the good news is it’s prolly easy disposing some of those players.

Haaland is wanted by Chelsea and pretty sure all of the top clubs.  United has been chasing Jadon Sancho all summer last year.  They’ll prolly try again.  And I think Bellingham was wanted by City..?  Not sure.  But it would be nice to see the youngster train and develop under Pep.

I’m not sure about the rest, don’t really know them.  But I heard Guerreiro is good.

Chelsea have dropped from the race to sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba that leaves Real Madrid in pursuit.
Their reason was that the wage demands from Alaba were big as he is demanding £400k per week that was would make Chelsea break the wage roof structure for their players.
I do not think any club is going to be willing to pay Alaba that high, he is already 29 years and a defender for that matter, if this wage issue lingers, then he could end up staying in Bayern for another season.

after Dayot Upamecano (leipzig), bayern munich also has Florian Neuhaus (mönchengladbach) in the inner circle of new signings for next season.
but other names are also circulating in munich, e.g.
Borna Sosa (vfb stuttgart), Marco Friedl (werder bremen), Luca Netz (hertha bsc berlin), Omar Richards (fc reading), Eduardo Camavinga (stade rennais) and Lucien Agoumé (inter milan)

Tottenham Hotspur recruitment problem is not really about the willingness to buy; but hat calibre of quality players would want to play for Spurs? and does Levy has the nmoney to bring them in ?

Spurs has gone after players such as holjberg, doherty and reguillon on loan? Can they lure in world class players? I really have doubts. Harry Kane will be 28 soon, without a trophy cabinet; would he wait longer and continue to hope ? These are issues with Spurs at the moment

When it comes to offloading; do Spurs have quality players for sale at all ? Who would pay hefty amounts for Alli? Moura ? Winks ? Spurs has average players only
It is always a money problem, technically speaking at least. There is no player who would say no to huge sums of money, one player that accepts to play in Real Madrid for 10 million would not say no to 20 million in Spurs, at least if there any, that must be very low number of people, almost all 99% would say yes to that.

So, it is always money problem, yes maybe players may not want to play there (some) and want to play somewhere else or at least prefer somewhere else but if Spurs give enough money, they could convince almost everyone. They are not one of the richest clubs in the world but they are a decent team in premier league so they are definitely making a decent amount of profit as well, at the end of the season every team gets gigantic amount of money as well, and with european competitions they must be getting a decent profit and should be capable of affording players.

According to rumours, Manchester City are thinking of signing a big striker this summer definitely. And they will make the striker transfer even they manage to bring Messi to the club. They really need a solid striker now I think. Aguero will leave the team most likely this summer. G. Jesus is not enough just by himself. Their number one target is Haaland.

How much reputable is the source? Never eared about them.

Seems strange they can buy Haaland and pay Messi salary in the same session with the covid situation and the financial fair play.
Well they can do whatever the what like they did in the last process I guess.

I also find it quite interesting. Let's say they succeeded in bringing Messi to the team. They will not pay any transfer fee but still they will have to guarantee Messi a great deal of money for his salary. Of course there will be other payments too (signing-on fee etc.). It seems they have the financial power to afford Messi and a great striker.

If Chelsea accepted this offer that will make renew negotiations with other players hard as they will also demand more and they will be starting to compare their salaries to others.

It is true that I was also very surprised to find out that David Alaba demanded a very high salary, even if Chelsea dared to accept the offer. Alaba can be
the player with the most expensive salary in the Premier League, so it is very natural that Chelsea decided to withdraw from pursuing Alaba. I am also not
sure that Real Madrid will accept Alaba's request for a very high salary, considering that all the big clubs are experiencing a financial crisis. As a result of
the COVID-19 pandemic, many clubs in Europe have decreased their income. Alaba should be realistic in asking for a salary in the current conditions.

There is some news about Lautaro Martinez. Manchester City seem that they will decide to stop chasing him to sign as he is expected to extend his contract with his club, Inter. City could have strengthened their attacking with this signing, but it doesn't seem likely to happen.

https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/transfers/2020-2021/lautaro-s-new-deal-pushes-city-towards-erling-haaland-son-to-sign-in-summer-transfer-noteboo_sto8111278/story.shtml

Lautaro still has a lot to offer to Inter. He's just starting to pick form this season and has been doing really well to link up Lukaku upfront for Inter.  If Man city can get Haaland instead, it would be a good call. Haaland isn't new to fast-paced attacking football which is something Guardiola's City is known for. So he should be a more ideal option. Only problem is that Dortmund won't be letting him off their hook anytime soon unless they intend to cash-in big on his worth.

Are you kind to your neighbor? Think it through
I am wondering why there is so little news about reinforcements to my team but I guess mourinho wants to wait until he knows we are qualified for champions league next season. Kane and Son for sure will still be around and strong for 2/3 good years at minimum,,, but it is becoming very clear that Gareth Bale is not working out.

Time to offload a lot of our team I feel and get fresh young blood in!
