Messi's gone now, will El classico be popular the same way ?
We know Messi had a huge following but come on, no one player is bigger than a club. We have seen players come and go and this isn't any different,  but if you want a challenge let Messi help the French league get the recognition it needs.

Will La liga still be interesting as of old, exception for the rise of a great talent?
Eden Hazard not even at he's Best, Gareth Bale as well far gone the he's best...... We'll miss great reports emmanating from that League.
What talent have you envisaged rising ? ?
I agree names to look forward to has being made narrow, I can't think of any big name that I can wait and look forward too for a weekend  game. Hope the likes of suarez, Aguero and everyone else can excite the league once again.

El Classico will not be as popular as before. Even La Liga's popularity will continue to decline day by day. Messi has left not just for this. Real Madrid and Barcelona, the two main teams in La Liga, do not have big stars. The two teams have now become teams of average level. Griezmann is Barcelona's best and star player and Benzema is Real Madrid's star player.

Now that Messi is gone, the Barcelona team can go two ways. It can collapse completely, but it can also go completely the other way and we see a new generation. Depay made an immediate impression in his first game. Maybe they depended too much on Messi.

Pretty crazy to see Messi leave Barcelona.  I have quite a few buddies who are Barcelona fans, and they of course are none to pleased with what transpired with that whole thing.  I am also just referring to people whom are in the United States, I can't imagine being a lifelong Barcelona fan who lives in Spain..this must be absolutely heartbreaking.  I'm curious to ask for you Euros who follow the sport very closely, where do you guys put Messi in term of the all time greats?
Disappointed when Messi left Barcelona and play for PSG because I am Real Madrid fans need haters for my club and always debate both Barcelona or Real Madrid get bad result, but now the popularity or Barcelona fans have move and change their club to be PSG fans and not any interested yet to debate.

Icardi is already rumoured to be sold soon. Some people were saying that he would go back to Italy again. Maybe Roma or Inter can sign him.

If you look at the finances of the Italian squad, Inter and Roma, their chances of getting Icardi are very difficult, because their current economic situation is not improving due to the pandemic, the two Serie A giants seem to only be able to bring in Icardi on loan or barter, there is a possibility that the president of the Italian squad will take the same steps as PSG did for their finances.

Manchester Utd are preparing to announce their Varane transfer from Real Madrid this week after Varane completes his medical. It's been rumoured for a long time that Varane was going to join Manchester Utd this summer. And finally it is happening. Manchester Utd must be really happy to strengthen their defense line a lot. As far as I know, Manchester Utd will pay a transfer fee to Real Madrid which is around €50m or a little higher.
Finally! Its really good that after a long while, the deal is now to be completed and announced.Varane will really add more depth to Manchester United's squad, his experience in the backline will really be helpful to the defenders and other wings in the team.

It looks like PSG have ended their interest in Manchester Utd midfielder Paul Pogba (28). After signing Messi, they have used their financial power fully. There are even some rumours like they violated the financial rules while signing Messi. So, it seems like just a dream for PSG to go for more transfers.
Lol just think of the bench they would have if they bought Paul Pogba too. Their reserve team would probably finish 2nd in the French League. Their reserves are worth more than a lot of other teams combined. PSG should be banned for transfers if FPP was applied to big teams but they will not because the big teams bring in the money.
Yeah, I can imagine how good squad PSG would have with Pogba also. But they can't buy him I guess. They've already violated some financial rules after bringing Messi to the team as it seems. And they are trying to sell many players now to fix things about it. If they manage to do it as soon as possible, I think they wouldn't get any punishment. Otherwise, I don't know what will happen to them.
With all that, Messi got Paris Saint-Germain for free, so there are still good chances to fit into the framework of fair play. And Pogba in any case does not fit into the framework, because he has to pay Manchester United about 50 million plus a good salary for Pogba himself. There is information that Paris Saint-Germain finally refused to transfer Pogba this summer, but the club will continue to monitor the situation and will return to this issue in the next transfer window, especially if Pogba refuses to renew his contract with Manchester United. That is, a player can cost the club even cheaper Wink In general, a very rich Paris Saint-Germain is trying to save on the amounts of the transfers themselves Grin

It is very possible but Mbappe should realize that Messi probably won't stay a long time in PSG. Also, it is about his career and his dream, Mbappe's goal is to play on the bigger football club, and Real Madrid fits with his dream/goal. But for this season, Mbappe is likely to stay in PSG, with Messi arrive in PSG, he has a motivation to play in PSG 1 season again.

Who wouldn't be honored to play alongside the greatest footballer of all time? Big bonus if he's on your team! Mbappe sure wants out of PSG, He has given more than enough efforts but there's been no UCL title to show for it yet. While he's still young, he still needs to add UCL title to his portfolio. The arrival of Messi will keep him this season and probably the one that would come afterwards. Moreover, PSG might increase his salary or pay higher bonuses to keep him at the club for much longer.

Real Madrid doesn't seem ready to buy Mbappe this summer.
What?? How can you conclude this? Real Madrid is ready to buy Mbappe, but PSG management doesn't allow him to leave. Please don't make misleading information, note that Real Madrid has enough money to fulfill Mbappe price fees and even his salary. Don't think Real Madrid is a small club and not serious to sign Mbappe.

Or Mbappe decides to renew the contract. He should stay All the same, with Messi in the line-up, this is a different team.

It is said that PSG is going to look to sell up to 10 players to balance their finance as they have signed Lionel Messi and poured a lot of money into the transfer. Players like Idrissa Gueye (31), Ander Herrera (31) and Mauro Icardi (28) are included in these players to be sold also.

Icardi is already rumoured to be sold soon. Some people were saying that he would go back to Italy again. Maybe Roma or Inter can sign him.

Rumors of Icardi returning to Italy had circulated a few months ago and at that time Icardi denied this statement, and said he would continue to strengthen PSG, but even though at that time Icardi was reluctant to leave the squad but in the transfer market anything could happen. Especially with the arrival of Lionel Messi, maybe the PSG president was forced to release some of the first squad players to balance the books.

I'm not so sure about Icardi returning to Inter, given the type of circumstances with which he left the club, but then we've seen stranger things happen in this transfer window.

If I were in charge of English team, I would definitely be scavenging from PSG right now, they've got numerous of decent they'd need to discard inorder to balance their books over the next few season, and the money wouldn't seem more of an issue, but they'd need to get players off their payroll.

Mbappè is in a cage and he can't escape.
-snip
He wants to leave but he can't since his president doesn't care at all if he will leave for free.

I guess PSG isnt that big to fit in Neymar, Messi and Mbappè all together huh. Thats a prety big attitude coming from a 22 years old and he knows for sure that this will cost PSG alot of money to let him go for free. I honestly dont think they really need Mbappè right now with Messi on board so It will be fun if PSG responded by benching him for the whole year before letting him go
Real Madrid doesn't seem ready to buy Mbappe this summer. There is a chance to miss it. Or Mbappe decides to renew the contract. He should stay All the same, with Messi in the line-up, this is a different team. PSG is looking for a top coach who already has experience with star players.
The French Sport Magazine L'equipe  says that Mbappe is not interested in the idea of playing alongside "Messi" or the dream team.
Mbappe" told the Paris administration that either he will be sold this summer to Real Madrid, or he will leave them next year for free.
Apparently he is not a Messi fan or he thinks that Messi will not be a great for his scoring stats, PSG would benefit from the addition that Messi will bring but the personal stats of Mbappe could see a decrease as having 3 players inside the box who is going to be helping in defense or getting the ball for the Attackers. That's why I think that Mbappe would like to shine as a lone star in Laliga as the league have lost a great number of it stars.

He wants to leave but he can't since his president doesn't care at all if he will leave for free.
If that news is true, then I think PSG are actually doing a pretty bad business in the transfer market, after recently acquiring Messi's signature as well as other signings, they definitely have to make money as well for themselves from the sale of players that want to leave, if Mbappe wants to go, and the club is so sure he wants to leave, I see no reason why they should hold him back.

Having said that, why would the club be willing to miss out on over 100 million, because Mbappe would definitely cost around that amount, only to keep him and later let him go for free, that's actually a bad idea, notwithstanding how rich the club actually is.

About PSG
You do have a luxury problem now with this selection. I think this might be the best squad a club has ever had. The unapproachable Barcelona of 10 years ago would not be able to cope with that either. If you play with all 4 strikers, that is a feast for the eyes. And a problem for the trainer. Midfield and defense ditto.
In the league there isn't all that much competition, really the only time the back players would be exposed would be in the Champions League if they play with all four, although I think they would probably take a more balanced approach in the Champions League. However, in the league I think I would expect most of them to play week in, week out. I'd also predict that there's going to be a record breaking amount of goals scored in the French league.

He is already proven, even to end his career right now. About his professionalism vs. money, I am not sure what is here more important for them. He takes the best contract which he can get and will play in an incompetent league. now he will break records, scoring many goals against poor teams.
He is almost at the end of his career now though,,, and money for sure, is a factor, but when you are as rich and famous as he is, what is the difference of 80 million a year and 50 million a year? To use a platform to get more fame, more challenge, to make your brand even more famous and expensive,,, this is to me worth much more in the long run when he retires and he can have his pick of sponsorships and ambassadorships.

Anyway too late to discuss as he is already in Paris. I hope he gets what he wants there and still looks for a bigger challenge in the next season after.
They always teach these players to be professional and always make decisions based on money because this is a career where you can make more money than 99% of the humans in the world and if they give up even just one year, then they will never make that back because it is a quick career as well. You make money at most for 20 years, and on your very early years you will not be able to make too much anyway, so if you could make 5 million more then you should consider it.

Messi is just one example, look at how Xavi actually went to Qatar after Barcelona, that wasn't even a team like PSG, it was Qatar, he just wanted to make a bit more money. That is all it is about, when you reach a certain age, you will not be able to make money at all, and that will cause you to stop living the luxury life you are living right now, even if you retire with 200 million in the bank at the age of 40, you will have to spend that carefully for another 40 years, and not like football players live our lives, they get the most expensive houses, workers, staff, houses, and everything else so one year costs them multi million dollars, so get as much as you can because you will need that for another 40+ years.
