I'm reading the apology Paris is using for buying Messi.
I can't confirm this but also in France there should be the 70% revenue/salary ratio rule as in Spain.

PSG is at 99%.
The excuse they are using is that of "we have no problems with financial fair play as we plan to return to expenses in the long term thanks to the purchase of Messi and the enlargement of the brand"

But I say: are we kidding? but what does it mean? that only they can violate the financial fair play and say it publicly and others can do nothing?

In addition to this, I heard that an organization I don't know which one said "you can do what you want until the 2023 World Cup otherwise we risk making a mess for the World Cup in Qatar"

ARE WE JOKING?

UEFA must implode and the Superleague must be born.

~snip~ Right now I am waiting for pic or video of Ramos and Messi shaking hands more than Messi arriving at Paris.  Cheesy
Enmity is only in the field, if it's 1 club then it will be different. This is crazy, how much money will PSG spend on studying players if Messi is present? It looks like it's huge. Look at the site https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-paris-saint-germain/kader/verein/583 PSG's current value reaches €917.75m, not to mention the messi present. Looks like PSG owner's money doesn't seem to run out.
It's quite interesting to see, will PSG be able to compete in the League and UCL next season? With the current squad, of course, their target is to win in the League and UCL.

I knew it from onset that Neymar will never drop his number 10 shirt for Messi, lots of people were saying different rumours about Neymar dropping the shirt in respect for Messi, Messi is now putting on number 30 Jersey, I hope both him and Neymar will be able to build a good relationship, because any bad vibes from both of them will definitely cost Psg alot

Eh, it's a pity that it did happen.

Its one of the best thing that he could get. There isnt that many clubs out there that could offer him as much as PSG and besides that he gets to play with Neymar again so its a pretty good deal.

but in terms of a new challenge for himself, it's just zero. I would like to see Messi in Serie A or the English Premier League - it would be difficult for him there even in a top club because of the tougher and more competitive championship.

Why would Messi even want to compete with all those youngster in a more competitive league? He has proven himself to be one of the GOAT. The ultimate goal for him would be to play in UCL and win. There is nothing wrong with his decision though, some other top players usually go to either MLS or China League after they are over 34~ years old

Now it is a done deal: Lionel Messi is joining Paris Saint-Germain after his tearful departure from FC Barcelona. The 34-year-old signed a contract with the French top club until 2024. Just under a month after the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Argentine replaces the latter as the world’s most valuable free transfer.

Honestly I was shocked to learn Abraham is even on the market, he is way too good of a player to give up at this stage for Chelsea. Maybe he may not find himself in the starting eleven all the time, but he is still a good contribution to the team whenever someone gets injured, you can even place in at any place aside from defense, dude is that good and overall.

I guess Roma just wants to build a great team, the logic of getting Mourinho makes more sense now,  having last years' Roma with Mourinho made no sense, but with addition of some new players that could actually become something very good for them. I heard that they are after Icardi as well just now, and that means that with Abraham and Icardi they could actually be a very valid team, but I have zero idea where they are getting that much money from, never knew they had the coffers filled.

I don't really rate him that high at all. I think he's a decent player that can still improve but I don't consider him good enough to lead the line at a top club and I do not think he will ever be.

Chelsea is still trying to bring Kounde (or another centre back) so they need the money, their offensive line is full of talent and selling a player like Abraham who wouldn't really get enough minutes on the pitch is probably a right choice. Keeping him without giving him minutes would be detrimental to both his development and resell value.

Abraham had some really nice performances early last season but kinda faded as the season progressed. He's English so carries a few more million on his price tag by default, he could be a decent signing for Mourinho.

Serie A will probably suit him more than the Premier League and he's a player that will always be easy enough to sell back to England (due to their English players quotes) if it doesn't work out for Roma.

Good deal for Chelsea as well, really decent amount of money for a player that would spend the majority of the season on the bench.

Messi's long-awaited transfer. What strikes me most is that he was out so quickly. Would he go to PSG purely for the money? You also have Mbappe and Neymar playing in the striker, so he doesn't have the wealth for himself. Family also to France. where are you going, Leo.

Why do you think it was so fast? As far as I know, Messi has been negotiating with them since last year and with interruptions these talks have been going on for more than a year.
Also, where else could Messi have gone? Only to Manchester City but they have already spent too much money this summer on new players.
After all, I think it will also be an honour for Messi and a special pleasure to play with Neymar and Mbappe, don't you think so?
It will be very interesting to see if PSG will finally win the Champions League with these three superstars  Cheesy

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Messi is now in Paris, ending all speculation. Messi is signing a two-year contract with this French club. His salary is 35m euros per year. We've seen the Barcelona president's drama in the last few days. They were not interested in keeping Messi in the team. So they didn't sell Griezmann, and added two new strikers, Aguero and Depay. If they wanted to keep Messi in the team, Barca management would have increased the strength of the defense without increasing the strength of their forwards.

PSG got another legend in their squad. Looking forward to seeing what the trio of Neymar Mbappe and Messi will look like. PSG will undoubtedly win the Ligue 1 title. However, their main target is to win the Champions League title. Messi wants another Champions League title. Hopefully PSG will be able to bring home the title with the help of this squad.

Indeed, it is a big ambition for PSG to win the Champions League title so that talented players are also brought in from various big clubs, so it is a pity if the Champions League fails this season because I see players are already so full of talent and strong in defense, middle and front.

With Lionel Messi's new contract, of course this will bring more enthusiasm for PSG and their fans because they can't wait to see how their match will start with this star player, I think Messi will be the top scorer again.

i just cant understand how the fuck that financial fair play shit works lol.
this psg squad are monster.. while other clubs struggling to manage the messed up financial situation, this oil club splashing 35m a year as salary for a single player,  what a transfer... what a confusing UEFA.

From the UAE, since Qatar assumed the presidency of the PSG, this team has never had to worry about financial issues.

Since 2011, PSG has gone from being a team with few titles to being among the greatest champions in Europe.
However... if they operate profitably or if it's just for the sport, then I can't tell you... it's hard to say if PSG can recover in titles and sponsorship the exorbitant amounts that's pays for its players.

Grin It might sound offensive, but I see the French league as "light training" if you play for a top club (which is what PSG is). Accordingly, it is difficult to talk about adaptation and any problems in such conditions. As for the Champions League, PSG doesn't really need Messi to win it (in fact, he's an average player now, but not a star) just a little bit of luck.
Yeah Ligue 1 is considered light comparing to EPL and La Liga for sure, that's why I said he won't have hard time to adapt Grin

PSG are so lucky, with a lot of money but they managed to bring in important players for free in the transfer market this season. Now they have a squad that should be very convincing to finish as UCL champions and league 1. Of course having Messi will makes formation of PSG players more stronger to make this happen, also with the goalkeeper position that managed to players who make Italy achieve a perfect victory at EURO, Donnarumma. I think now people will make PSG the favorite.

Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Messi are really good transfers. They've added all three players to their roster for free, and all three are the best players in their field in the world. Paris SG was the team that made the best moves in transfer this year. My guess is he can win both Ligue 1 and UCL this year.

Finally, the whole drama has eventually come to an anticipated end... I wish Messi all the very best in his newest adventure. It's really going to be weird seeing him play alongside Sergio Ramos but, I guess the long lasting enmity between the duo is nothing personal and just limited to the pitch ?

It will be very interesting to see how this plays with PSG's financial situation, especially with the fact that they're planning to renew mbappe's contract, I'm curious to see how they'll be able to keep all three players and remain with the FFP rules.

And kinda weird seeing him being coached by Poch too.  Lol.  Poch used to be the manager of Espanyol, Barca’s rival at Barcelona, Catalonia...  If only City had anticipated that there would be problems with Messi and Barca’s salary cap, they would’ve gotten him for free.  It would’ve been nice to see him play in the EPL and under Pep...

The Lukaku to Chelsea is a done deal he will travel to London tomorrow for an official announcement and unveiling as new Chelsea striker, the Messi to Chelsea deal was never going to happen that's just fact. Neymar is the reason Messi is going to PSG

But there were reports that Abramowitch is at least in talks with Messi and his father. I agree that the chance is possibly close to zero, but would you say there is absolutely no chance he might go to Chelsea? It would be a surprise, but at the same time it would be a nice surprise in my eyes.
Those were media speculations there was no direct contact with his agent or his father, free agents come with a huge price and salary, Messi is a dream player for every team but then his salaries was something only PSG could afford without going bankrupt and for the latest update, Messi will fly to Paris to undergo medical as a PSG player tomorrow and will wear the No. 19 Jersey. Chelsea priority now is Kounde from Sevilla.

I am quite sure that all the big bosses knocked on Messi's door, including Abramowtich. Whether that ended up in serious talks or not is another story, but I can definitely imagine that Abramowitch considered signing Messi. Tuchel probably wouldn't be against it! Tongue
Rumors will persist until a real agreement is reached. However, everything can change in an instant. Negotiations are underway between PSG, Messi's father Jorge, and Messi's lawyers. Although no full agreement has been reached yet, optimism still prevails. It appears on some social media pages that he has already signed with PSG.

I think it's great that Messi can go to PSG, PSG is the springboard team for many players, in fact I already want to see Messi's name on the Eiffel Tower, I also think that the one who will be most happy will be Neymar Jr, although I really I would like to see Messi in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo and that in the Champions League they can score a lot of goals against both Barcelona and Real Madrid, what I don't like about these two great clubs is that they throw their best players almost down the line. back door, these types of players need to go out the front door, in football when a player is over 30 years of age these types of clubs start to put them aside, as happened to Sergio Ramos, otherwise with teams like Dortmund, PSG, among others.

You should all remember how Messi got treated last year by his former team. I am very happy he left, it is good for him to close his career away from Spain. He still has, maybe, 2-5 years of great performances.
Now PSG boasts the best forwards in the world: Messi, Neymar, Mbappé. But I bet one between Icardi or Mbappé will leave the team.
