hmph..
Rumor Rafael Benitez will replace Gattuso in Napoli. The defeat of Juventus then lost from Verona  3-1  saw the club president decide to fire him if nothing improved within 10 days. Apart from Benitez, Walter Mazzarri appears to be the second choice. It looks like the club president intends to replace Gattuso.

Benitez is good options for Napoli, he is good coach and also have a good history with Napoli in the past at least won a Coppa. While Gattuso, I think he will get another italian club very soon, maybe will join for lower top in table.

A team like Chelsea don't deserve to be at bad positions. They have quite good players who can carry the team to the better levels.

If we look at the big name "Chelsea", yes they do not deserve at bad positions but if we look at how they play/perform then they deserves it. Although they have good players but I do not see something special on Chelsea since the beginning of this season. There must be something wrong with them that needs to be evaluated then fix it as soon as possible. Otherwise, high possibility that they will be out of Top 5 by the end of the season.

I agree with you. This season for a club like Chelsea is terrible. A club with such a history cannot occupy such a place. Especially since the club has everything to be at least in the top five. They should have found a good coach. Let's see how tuhel does.

PSG still want to sign Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli in this transfer window on loan for the rest of the season. D. Alli wants to reunite with his old boss Pochettino but Tottenham don't want to let him go if they don't find a replacement for him. Tottenham think Gladbach playmaker Florian Neuhaus as a replacement.

At this stage a short term deal, possibly a loan for any senior top level CB is better than our current options. If we continue playing Rhys Williams & Phillips in PL games we are going to miss top 4. Alaba is great but I think that’s a deal that would happen in the summer, we need somebody now. Arsenal have just released Sokratis, why couldn’t we sign him on a 6 month deal? FSG are playing with fire by not giving Klopp the money for a CB.

That would be best, yeah. But who will loan a CB that's good enough for us now? I heard a rumor we talked with Sokratis but he was out for a long time and Arsenal is getting rid of him - and they are in worse problems than we are.
I hope Matip will be able to be fit for a while, otherwise we really are screwed. I know it's a difficult deadline but I agree with you that not solving the CB position can possibly define our season.

Getting annoyed that our owners don’t seem to be willing to buy a CB. Our season has been ruined due to long term injuries to VVD & Gomez. Surely it makes sense to sign a CB otherwise we might end up fighting to get top 4.
I appreciate COVID19 has hit teams finances but it’ll be even worse if we don’t get CL football. Speculate to accumulate, it makes business sense surely.
Given your nickname you must be a huge fan of both Bitcoin and Liverpool FC. At first, I was failing to understand what you were referring to then I got illuminated by your nick. I remember I have read a tweet from Jamie Carragher at the end of December, where he admitted that Liverpool needed to sign a new defender when the transfer window opened in January. But that ain't happening as it seems.

According to rumours, Tottenham aim to sign PSG right-winger Angel Di Maria (32) in this summer on a free transfer. He is still a good player and can contribute nicely to the team if he goes there. In this season, Di Maria played in 22 games. He scored 4 goals and made 10 assists so far.

Agreed, but the problem is who to go for? I am sure we don't have the money to go for a starter, that's close to 50 mil euros. If we go for a rotation option, we have a bigger problem during the summer - we have VVD as a starter for next season and again 3 options we're not quite sure about for long term (Gomez is prone to mistakes, Matip's body is 75 years old and the new stop-gap would simply lack quality. So, to buy in the summer (which I'm sure we'll try to do), you'd have to get rid of one of these.

We are really, really unlucky with injuries there and the form of Rhys Williams did not help at all. He looked decent in the first few games, he's been horrible since. I really don't know what's the solution.

That's why I wanted us to go for Alaba but apparently, he wants the highest wage in the club. So, no way for it to happen.

League position is not determined by how big you are or how large your history is as a football neither by the quality of players, it's determined and positioned on how well you performmed, how coordinated you are and the amount of work rate put into play. Aston Villa fought relegation battle last season while Sheffield United were having the form of their life today both clubs are in opposite position that is football for you.

I think Thomas Tuchel is a good manager and will help the team start climbing to the upper positions in the Premier League.
Yep, he is a proper manager for Chelsea. But we must remember that many managers have big difficulties when they handle the Chelsea team. I don't know what's happening. Maybe the managers are expected to bring the big changes to the club instantly. While it makes a big pressure for them.

A team like Chelsea don't deserve to be at bad positions.
Chelsea must become a part of the top-fives in the table. They were a part of top-fives before, but now Chelsea is only in the tenth position. This must be changed if they want to join European League or Champions League in the next season.

and it is now official - Thomas Tuchel is the new coach of fc chelsea. he will make his debut tomorrow at the game against wolves

Quote
Thomas Tuchel has found a new club just one month after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. As reported at the beginning of the week, the 47-year-old will succeed Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager. For the time being, the contract of the former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund head coach runs until the summer of 2022, after which there is a mutual option to extend it by a further year. Tuchel is set to make his debut on the bench against Wolves on Wednesday already.

Morgan Sanson joins aston villa from olympique marseille
Quote
Aston Villa have signed Morgan Sanson from Olympique Marseille. The Premier League club announced the deal on Tuesday. Various English sources have the transfer fee at €15.8 million—the deal can grow to €17.5 million thanks to bonus payments. The 26-year-old midfielder is, therefore, among the 30 most valuable players to move this winter. Sanson has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Villa Park.

Btw don't you think the fan tokens would make a significant difference in those decision making?

Could fan tokens in anyway liberalize club funds? become a new source of revenue especially for the billions that watch football on screen rather than on club grounds?

Manchester City defender Eric Garcia (20) and Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum (30) are both going to be out of contract at the end of this season. Barcelona are interested in them both to sign them in the summer.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/barcelona-georginio-wijnaldum-liverpool-transfer-23375521

I like Wijnaldum a lot,,, I think he would do really well at my club (Spurs) but as usual guys like him they will be attracted to clubs like Barca, imagine supplying the line for Messi instead of just Mane and Salah;)

But Garcia too young, not established yet.

It looks like Jesse Lingard's most likely destination is West Ham. Tottenham is said to be interested in the player as well but Man United is playing it smart by not letting their title rival reinforce their squad like they wanted. What's going to happen in the next few days could be crucial for all top 5 teams.
