I have checked everywhere and the only news is from here, and it says "PSG want to announce the transfer on the weekend. " which means there is nothing official just yet, but it will definitely be something big if they actually do it. I was fully expecting City to get him, but I guess PSG is all out this year. First Hakimi, then Donnaruma, then Ramos, then Wijnaldum, and now we are talking about Messi.

Just these names could be a base of a horrible team and I swear that it is really something good as an addition because they have Mbappe and Neymar already and few other good players too. Let's see what happens, if they fail with this roster, then I can clearly say that this team will be one of the best teams to lose, do not remember any team that was as good as this team didn't win something, specially UCL, but we still don't know how well they will get together.

It is basically done for Lukaku back in the Premier League for 115m € cash to Inter and his salary will be 11m€.

Football is for fans they said, yes of Premier League or PSG  Roll Eyes

One should not complain. I don't think the development is good and I also think it's good that some leagues in Europe (the Bundesliga for instance) don't go this way. But on the other hand, it is the fans who make these high transfer sums possible by going to the stadium for horrendous prices, spending a lot of money on TV subscriptions and fan merchandise. If this were not the case, such transfers would not be possible, despite investors.

Why not.
I'm complaining for sure while the market is "doped" with the money from sheik while PSG is not respecting financial fair play with the favor of Ceferin.

LaLiga will definitely feel the impact of Messi leaving, same way they did when Ronaldo left, I think that there's something going wrong in background as regarding tax issues with footballers in la liga, two iconic players left for other leagues, ever since Ronaldo has left Madrid El classico is not really interesting to watch, now that Messi had left I believe that few people around the world would have interest in watching it

If PSG's decision to sign Messi for 2 years with the option of an extension of 1 year is announced soon, then PSG will have a row of megastars in their starting XI. Congratulations PSG, and goodbye Barcelona.
It looks certain that Psg will sign Messi, the question now is will Neymar be willing to drop his number 10 shirt?, considering the fact that he's a little bit being too proud of himself, I just can't imagine the lineup if Messi eventually join Psg, it will be a nightmare for defenders, Mbappe, Neymar, Messi  Grin

Wow. Just cause of Messi?
Nah, that would be extremely unprofessional. It's just that FC Barcelona are not able to register him or any of the new signings like Depay in La Liga cuz the club wage bill is still too high (La Liga rules) ...If they can't register these players in the league, they won't be eligibile to play in the champions league meaning Aguero will not play a single game for Barca next season  Roll Eyes

I also think PSG is a mistake for Messi, I always thought he was going to Manchester City and his old successful coach Guardiola. Would definitely be a better address, the English league is physically tougher than the French but it can't be just for the money, he should already have enough.

Seriously though, Messi is one of The GOAT but he is 34 years old player. Honestly do you think he wants to compete in a competitive league like Premier League? Even Ronaldo choose to go for Serie A instead of going back to Premier League. There is nothing wrong with his decision though in case if Messi decided to play for PSG because Neymar and Di Maria is there, Both were his teammates

Yeah the way I see it, its either Premier League or PSG right now for most players

By now, everything is done and everything is defined. Lionel Messi at Psg is now a matter of a few days. At least according to the words of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, brother of the Emir of Qatar owner of the Parisian club who wrote unequivocally on social media a post: "The negotiations are over, then will come the announcement".
Just like CR7 in 2018, for Messi there'll be a two-year deal with an option for a third, with a salary of around 30 million per season. Shortly we wait for the official steps and maybe even the announcement.

Messi made a big mistake by joining PSG. He could have agreed to play for free for at least one year or less for 10 lamas, and then he would have become a hero of Barcelona. And so he chose money and put his interests above the club that gave him a lot.

I also think PSG is a mistake for Messi, I always thought he was going to Manchester City and his old successful coach Guardiola. Would definitely be a better address, the English league is physically tougher than the French but it can't be just for the money, he should already have enough.

Maybe his family likes Paris better than Manchester? But maybe things will turn out differently?

In other news Aguero wants out of Barca.  Lololol.  Cheesy

LOL  Cheesy.

There will be lot of players who will be frustrated with how things turn around at last point. Most of the players salaries were reduced to 40-50% in order for the new contract about to be signed but it all went to vain. Barca should have sold some players like Griezmann or Coutinho or Dembele or others who are on high salaries. I wonder what were the Spanish Liga regulations due to which they weren't able to extend the contract.

I saw this news, I think the players are trying to put pressure on the La Liga authorities so that they change their rules and Messi does not move from La Liga to another league. I think in the next few days we will see such news from some more players. However, if Messi leaves La Liga, La Liga will lose a much bigger fan base.

Wow. Just cause of Messi? I hardly think authorities are gonna change it just because of a player. If they have a good point against that rule then they can change that but I don't think they are just gonna change it because fans are putting pressure on to them for Messi to stay in Barca.

Honestly Barca really made some horrible signings after Neymar left. Some of them were good players but didn't turned out a fruitful for them at all. They should have stopped and tried to sell them but instead they tried to keep it and keep paying the high wages. Now they have to pay the price.

Norwich city have reportedly reached an agreement with wender bremen for the purchase of striker Josh Sargent, Josh Sargent is known as one of America's most potential young strikers currently playing in the German league, and reportedly Norwich City bought Josh Sargent for £11 million and now Josh Sargent will soon undergo medical tests in norwich city, If you look at his career statistics so far, I think Josh Sargent will be able to become one of the most dangerous strikers next season.
So far, very few American players have played in the English league, especially as a striker and to be honest, I'm really looking forward to his performances next season.

This source says that Chelsea are insisting on a player + cash deal for Romelu Lukaku. But Inter want a cash only deal. Chelsea have actually enough money to meet Inter's demands but they don't want to spend that much I think. Maybe it's because they want to sign some other players in this transfer window also.

According to this article the president of Barcelona Joan Laporta said that the club will be affected for 50 years if he stays and I am very sure the board must have sat down at analyzed or weighed various options to keep him before taking the final decision to sell him thus tried to avoid any risk, the club is bigger than any individual unfortunately after signing for another 5 years contract it has to be terminated  even though they wanted him to stay, a new era of Barcelona has began after the departure of Messi we are all aware of the impact of covid-19 on the finances of many clubs.
messi must be fuming at laporta who talk nicely in front of media but act evil behind the scene, no wonder. messi being abused there, not only becausr of the barcelona financial crisis for sure.
i wont be surprised if they would sign a middle class player to replace messi position lol, typical barcrlona thesedays.

According to AS, Roman Abramovich has requested an urgent meeting with Lionel Messi's representatives to talk about a possible move for Messi to Chelsea. I have never thought about the possibility that he would go to Chelsea actually. Because for now, Manchester City and PSG seem as more likely clubs.
thats what i mean! a hijacking mossion started!
let everyone talk about messi at psg now, he might sign a contract with Chelsea at paris :p such a wonderdul savage from abramovich if this scenario happened.

Paris Saint-Germain is the only club that can afford Messi salary this summer and It is expected that Paris Saint-Germain will announce the signing of Messi within the next few days. The offer will be a 3years contract so with them currently the only team capable of doing that it means according to the Italian newspaper "Toto Sport",
Ronaldo's staying at Juventus is almost certain, after Argentine Lionel Messi approached Paris Saint-Germain.
After the controversy that arose over Ronaldo's future between his departure and his move to Paris Saint-Germain, or the completion of his contract with Juventus until the summer of 2022.
I think Manchester City can afford Messi salary but we don't know why Messi prefer choose PSG than Manchester City and meet again with Pep Guardiola. Maybe PSG give more offer with two years contract for Messi and extended one year later, how ever with good offer giving by PSG make Messi will play on ligue 1 and looks get more popularity with label farmer league, I want to see Sergio Ramos, Donnaruma and Lionel Messi for PSG.

According to ESPN, PSG are ready to make a new offer for Lionel Messi. And as we all know, Mbappe has been wishing to leave the team as soon as possible to join Real Madrid. Now, if Messi joins PSG officially, maybe Mbappe would like to think of not leaving again. Because I assume that he would like to play alongside Messi and Neymar both rather than playing at Real Madrid.
As Cygan mentioned above, Messi's deal is almost done for 3 years with an optional third year. For now, I see La Liga less attractive and less competitive than EPL. Ligue 1 isn't better for sure but talking about a possible CL title for PSG this season should convince Mbappe to stay there this season imo.
Just about number 10, it appears that Messi is fine with having his old 19 in his shirt.

the centre back Cristian Romero joins tottenham spurs from atalanta bergamo

Quote
According to information acquired by Sky Sports, the fee is set between €50 million and €55 million. Fabrizio Romano reported that the fee will be €55 million. Enough for Romero to become the tenth centre-back to cost €50 million or more. Last season, he was named Serie A’s best defender by the league.

The Messi news caught me by surprise.  I def didn’t see that one coming.  And I think no other club anticipated this cos if they were, they’d be all over it to try and get him for free, esp City.
