I was pretty sure that Barcelona will do everything that they could to give Messi another deal though
they did everything they could actually, but the club's debt is just too massive

-laporta and koeman were publicly saying that the the players should "help" the club in the Messi situation...what they were implying was that the rest of the squad should lower their own salaries so that the club could pay Messi's...insanity
-Messi agreed to lower his salary, but it's still too much money cuz the club literally doesn't have money to pay such a big contract
-Tebas, president of La Liga, said that they were not gonna bend the rules so that Barca could go over the salary cap (which is like 380M for every teams). Tremendous blow for Barca
I think something happened in the last 24h, maybe they asked messi to lower his salary a bit more (?) and his answer was "fck off!"  Grin

Psg or City? In case you know, the football of the people not of the money.

Never thought this day would come, but the Messi news leaving Barcelona and this coming from a credible source like Fabrizio Romano is more than 90% true. So what does all this mean, could Messi have masterminded this move... if he is a free agent this makes it easy for him to go to another club without making it impossible for any other club to sign him.

Where next...
  • PSG maybe
  • England EPL

Does Messi have a manager by the way since we all thought he would retire at Barcelona FC and didn't need one  Roll Eyes

PSG might be able to seal the deal. They are one of the clubs who are doing the spending quite well and I am sure they still have enough to give Messi a good deal. Even better than what he had at Barca.

Probably not better but somewhere close to his previous deal with Barcelona ( or lower ). There is no reason for Messi to refuse the offers that might come unless he wants to stop playing this season.

I honestly want Messi to go to Juventus. Imagine watching both Ronaldo and Messi in one team for one or two more years before either one of them retire. This could be the best moment in the entire football history though

i said this last month

I seriously didnt expect that this would happen. Messi had done so much for the team and I was pretty sure that Barcelona will do everything that they could to give Messi another deal though

Reports are that they had option either to leave Super League and keep Messi or let Messi go and be in Super League. Really will be hard for Barca fans to gulp this down but that is how it is. Now I am waiting for big teams expressing interest in Messi. City to change their interest towards Messi now?

Neymar & the bois the other day with Messi...Messi to PSG (?)

no messi, the club with a huge debt (1billion or smth), team might finish mid table or lower this season...Barca fans, are you ok?

Barca without Messi (ugh!!) .. I don't see a beautiful picture next season. I mean not the domination but still maybe 3-4th position. But let's face it their rivals Real Madrid is also not in the best shape either. Atletico Madrid seems to be clear favourites for next LaLiga season winner to me.

Right now I am kinda excited what his new club gonna be . I am sure others who expected to see a "change" in Messi career is gonna love this and will be excited like me as well.

the speculations are finally over and now the fight for the argentinian national player Lionel Messi can begin - my guess will be that he will go to his old coach Pep Guardiola to man city

Man City are one of the few clubs that could afford his wages. They are currently finalising the £100m deal for Grealish, and still trying to sign Harry Kane.
Presumably they'd want Messi as their number one choice of any incoming transfer this summer... but would this affect their pursuit of either Grealish or Kane?

So, Messi is a free agent.

Some say that Laporta has a new contract ready and Messi will 100% sign it...I say Barca fans are in denial right now  Grin

Even though player and club agreed a deal, La Liga board blocked new contract for Messi, that's sucks. In Premier League teams can spend whatever money they like, we saw what Manchester City and other major clubs did. It's not looking fair at all. Well, let's see what happen, it's hard to swallow for Barcelona, we never think about that possibility, will Messi really be on another team this season? I give %0 chance for Chelsea to sign Messi, if he goes to Premier League that would be Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, no doubt about that.

Barcelona confirmed this much in an official club statement. Despite "Lionel Messi having reached an agreement and the clear intention of both parties to sign a new contract today, this cannot happen because of financial and structural obstacles (Spanish LaLiga regulations)," the club statement read. "As a result of the situation, Messi shall not be staying on at FC Barcelona."

Now that Aston Villa has officially surpassed Arsenal in size, it is worth mentioning that they are bigger. Due to Villa's summer, I am concerned for Arsenal F.C, they will lose their 8th position for sure this season. Aston Villa uses their 100m well. I've feeling that Villa will be a major headache next season though the recruitment process is great.

Arsenal desperately need a good signing. Right now they are not doing that, they are just getting young players for the future but is that enough? <- is the big question. Without any proper serious leader on field for the Gunners I don't think they are gonna make their performance better. Aston Villa are gonna for sure invest that money from Grealish pretty well. They already got Ings, Buendia, Bailey who had a remarkable last season. Maybe revamping their defense will make the team better. They sure were headache last season. Remember the surprise they gave when they defeated Liverpool last season and with the team like this they should sure perform better.
I bet that aston villa will not repeat the good performance from last season,  but in case they did it ... well that would surprise me .

im doubting villa would re-invest the 100m sales fund this season, they might recruiting loan players like abraham from chelsea or buying 5 to 10m player and the rest of it...  get in the board's pocket, im pretty sure about this.
anw with grealish land in city , there is a lot of attacking midfielder / winger available, someone will be kicked out for sure, pep is the king of transfer spender well done pep.

Aston Villa are one of the teams that are very active in this transfer window. Now, they are expected to go for Norwich's young midfielder Todd Cantwell. He is 23 years old now. They are actually waiting for City to end Grealish deal for a great deal of money which is around £100m. Then, they will be targeting Cantwell. He scored 6 goals and had 8 assists in 34 games in the last season at Norwich.

Bayern Munich officials have secured the extension German midfielder Joshua Kimmich contract.
To ensure the player stays for a longer period at the Allianz Arena. The management of the Bavarian club moved to immunize the German international, whose contract expires in the summer of 2023, by agreeing with him to extend it for the next 5 years.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Kimmich's new contract will guarantee him a double salary, which means he will earn about 20 million euros annually.
The current contract provides for the 26yo, 10 million euros annually, but the new agreement will place him in second place in the list of the highest paid players, surpassed only by the Polish Robert Lewandowski.
Reports indicated that no other party entered into the negotiations between Bayern officials and Kimmich, as the player preferred to conduct the talks himself, which eventually resulted in an agreement to sign until the summer of 2023.
After this step, Bayern Munich seeks to resolve the file of renewing another player, the German Leon Goretzka, whose contract expires at the end of next season.

Inter confirms to be the funniest team in Serie A. We always laugh about them becuase whenever they win then they rush to destroy all the good that has been done. I mean, Lukaku replacement should be another top player, not Duvan Zapata. Good player, do not misread me, but he is not a player for Inter these days.

Inter Milan...paving the road to Serie B next year! Cheesy
The financial crisis experienced by Inter is inevitable. Selling players who have high bids is a great opportunity for them, although it's true what you say, they may damage the rhythm of the game and the effectiveness of the team in scoring goals. After Conte, now Lukaku, Inter are facing big problems on the team, but for financial and in order to survive, at least this sale saves the club as a whole. I read in the local media that Inter are currently still in debt to Manchester United when they bought Lukaku. maybe this will be an opportunity for Inter to pay off their debt when they bring in Lukaku with the Installment system.

Some news sources say that Jack Grealish's imminent arrival at Manchester City could cause Bernardo Silva to leave the team. I've heard that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are very interested in signing him. As we know, Bernardo Silva is a really talented midfielder and winger. He is still young also (26). Both of these two teams would do really good with a decent player like him.
Most atimes I wonder what Mancity are really doing, because I don't really think Jack Grealish is even better than Bernado  Silva.I wish my club Arsenal were going for Silva,he can solve their attacking midfield problem.I really don't see any point in selling diver to replace him with Grealish.

I think it's just that they want the squad depth. Grealish adds a bit more to Man City, he doesn't completely change their potential, they are too good for that already... but he gives them a bit extra, and at the level they are at, £100m is what you have to pay to add something to what is already one of the best teams in the world.

Can't just Splash the cash £100 on a player and expects him to be on the bench, despite the depth Jack Grealish deserves more playing time to unlock more and more of his potentials.
News reaching me a medical at Manchester City will be done today...... Congratulations Jack.
He'll get to be in the squad up against Leicester City on Saturday for the Community Shield.
I hope all the spendings by Man City should be able to win UCL this season if they can't achieve that feat then all the spendings is a waste Chelsea won last UCL with not too expensive players but with a courageous and determined squad yet they achieved the result with Tuchel in charge. Personally I think Guordiola needed a competent striker now like Harry Kane instead of Grealish who can not be better than Bernado Silva. Last season most of their matches was played  with a false nine tactics which didn't work with Gabriel Jesus not scoring as expected

due to the imminent transfer of Romelu Lukaku to fc chelsea, Duvan Zapata from atalanta bergamo is now being discussed as RL's successor at inter milan
atalanta bergamo is of course already looking for a successor, and will most likely find one at fc chelsea - the italians are said to be interested in Tammy Abraham

I personally did not think that if Inter Milan would sell Lukaku, whereas  Lukaku had a very important role in winning the Scudetto for Inter Milan last season, it seems that what Conte said some time ago came true if Inter Milan would sell a star players to get money and things that is the reason Conte left Inter Milan, and it looks like Inter Milan will get some money for the transfer of Rumelu Lukaku and also two wingback players as conditions that Inter Milan proposed to Chelsea, namely Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta.

Attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva may leave Manchester City after the club bought Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £ 100m.

The 26-year-old Portuguese is in Barcelona's area of interest. A few weeks ago, the Catalans discussed with City potential transfers to Bernard and three other players.

However, now the blue garnet want to first of all decide the issue with the future midfielder Miralem Pjanic and defender Samuel Umtiti - they are not seen in the club.
