I agree with you.
It’s really amazing how much money Manchester United has spent on a lot of players in recent years and how small their results have been in recent years.
It seems that after Ferguson left, they lost their vision and want to achieve everything quickly, buying players instead of creating them through work and training.

Exactly! It seemed like you just borrowed the idea from my mind. For some very good reasons, it seems that Alex Ferguson was Man United and there is no Man United without him. This is the case as, Man United now don't seem to have a vision. They are just playing with a mind set of qualifying and compit in the Europa which shouldn't be, they've had pretty much a lot of bad games from the previous season and has carried it into the new season despite the money spent on players.
Hopefully, the arrival of Edenson Cavani from PSG to join the team on Monday would up the game for them but still, I still don't see their vision changing and focusing on being a better title contenders against Liverpool and Manchester City.
Sadly his to isolate for 14 days and won't be training with his new team mates hence, his bound to miss at least 3-4 games or more at the moment.

To be fair to the successor of Ferguson, he also at least in his last season bought success. The team he handed over was old and breaking, while competing teams were not yet set up in a way to challenge and had very bad luck too. Remember he splashed out money to buy that Dutch guy van Persie from Arsenal, so in one move killed Arsenal AND won the title with one man.

hmph..
I think they best thing they could do is hire a serious coach, somebody who had had success previously in a top European league. Solksjaer is a little out of his depth, great players would probably be more likely to join if they had a more established manager.

Yup, they have a money and if they are want to be great club again to compete for the title with Liverpool, City and Chelsea, they need top coach. Of course if we look for his stats, maybe not bad enough, with 54% win for 95 matches. But, MU need new era but not with solskjaer. I think simeone is one of best coach may MU need to try.

It's The problem with Manchester United is that they are trying to sign stars.
But the only stars that will be willing to join Man Utd at this time will be only those who are in decline or that do not perform at their best on their current clubs.
Man Utd should better hire better scouter and focus more on young talents that would be cheaper to the team as well.

It's not just Manchester United spending money this days, every big club has to spend money, (paying little attention to their academy) to be able to compete with the other teams around them, the problem in United's case is I believe they are spending money on the wrong players (like new signing, Edinson Cavani imo), who aren't performing to the standard man u fans expects of them. Mind you that during Fregies time, there were less big money transfers as there are now, and the players Ferguson signed then, always performed very well.

The league is only just starting, with four games played, but it already looks like it's impossible for Manchester United to win the EPL this season, that's how bad they look to me. Some years back, how dare your write off united from competing for the Epl title.

It is true that Manchester United, right now always eyeing high-priced star players, for example when Manchester United wanted to buy
Jadon Sancho, which in my opinion is very expensive. It's different when Manchester United are still being coached by Ferguson who buys
the right players, so the results will also be good for the team's performance. I agree Manchester United have to hire a better scout, like
when they found Cristiano Ronaldo.

They are certainly not after signing star players and what Ole seems to be looking for is a quality player, a fighter that will influence Man United winning and if they couldnt find what they need they can still sign new player outside the transfer window on an emergency basis. However, there are still some players in the transfer market.

Agreeing that this is a huge score for Cavani as if I am able to compare him to another player Ribery's contract is only 8,000,000 Euros for 2 years which is just around 100,000$ weekly and that is in Euros.

Don't think like this.  Grin
With Brexit, the value of the pound decreased a lot

if they continue like this Euro will overtake...

Anyway, the salary of Cavani is with or without takes, I mean is 10+10 of takes or 5+5?

Thanks for the support F*ck Woodward @ Avirunes, @MCobian, @AakZaki, @kawetsriyanto, @nelson4lov Grin

As an MU fan, now you need to appreciate what they already did. It may be the best that Ole can do to improve the team.
Well, I'm trying to be objective in my judgment, and I honestly think the current MU team has no structure, i.e., a group of stable players that managers can rely on every week. Without this, hot prospects or wonder kids cannot develop to their full potentials, as the team would be severely unstable.

After the Ferdinand-Vidic era, we don't see solid defenders anymore.
We cannot blame Ole, even Mourinho have tried to improve MU squad but you know what the result is.
2nd EPL Position, Europa Cup, Charity Shield.
That's why he begs for top class CB while parking his bus lol.

People might don't know that MU players are a group of average mid-table quality players. Try to play Football Manager and you will understand Grin
PS: I won EPL 2020 season with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in my MU team.

He was in Russia getting ready to sign for one of their teams, forgot which one Smiley Anyway the story goes they tried to cheat him in the contract signing and he left disappointed. They had agreed on amount in EUR and then put contract in Rubles with some very bad exchange rate + inflation towards EUR. When I say bad, I mean instead of 6M he gets 4M, something utterly ridiculous. All then numbers are just from my head since I read it a couple a days ago and can't find the link anymore but the gist of the story is correct.

Just checked about him and it seems like Lokomotiv Moscow was approaching him. They were offering him around 2.5M Euro. He was being offered more than twice of that amount when he was in his Qatar team- Al Duhail. That's quite a drop....

No wonder he rejected that but still sad to see him out of club right now.

They need LB, CB, and DM.

Anyways, I predict United struggle to be top-6, and Spurs will be in the top-3.
I agree with you, they need defenders not striker. Or will they install Cavani as a defender to replace Bailly or Maguire. Lol
 Grin
Just look at the three games they have conceded 11 goals, this is very bad. In the match against Tottenham Hotspur Shaw, Maguire, Bailly and Aaron failed to do their job properly. Just look at Maguire as the most expensive defender who can make mistakes.

I should probably stop mocking them now though or Cavani will probably score a hat-trick at Anfield or something  Undecided

I would say the same thing I said when Ibrahimovic signed for Manchester United. We can't be sure how he'd perform. EPL isn't like every other league. It's something Falcao realized only after his signing.

Even though I haven't seen his performance in a Man Utd shirt, I don't think he would be able to put 3 past the current Liverpool team. Despite our recent fallout at the Villa park, we have one of the best defenses in EPL. It would be fun to see him try though  Cheesy

Approx £200,000 according to various UK media, seems a lot for somebody his age but it was a free transfer so you have to balance that out. Wonder if he got a juicy signing on fee.

He was near to sign for Benfica months ago and the rumors were for 3-4 million/season.
In that case, he did an absurd deal  Shocked for the money he will earn, for the team meh at least they will be in the Champions League.

Also this will really be a more valuable contract for Cavani especially if he fails to impress in his stay in United it will feel like the team had overvalues Cavani for his current contract. Keep in mind that during his last season with PSG he only had 7 goals for the season that's including Cup games as well.

The package that was mentioned is ridiculous. It was ~200k£ p/w in wages alone with additional bonuses, a 3.5 mil signing fee and the most crazy thing - additional agent fees that were touted as 9mil£ in total.
It was said that no deal will be done without paying the agent fees (that's why the Atletico deal collapsed) so it's expected that a big chunk of the mentioned fee was also a part of the deal.

It's a 20+mil£ deal for 1 season, in a position where they really don't need new players. Brilliant.

Typical Man Utd since Ferguson left tbh. Get linked with world class players but end up signing a guy who is way past his peak. I should probably stop mocking them now though or Cavani will probably score a hat-trick at Anfield or something  Undecided

Mario Gotze, the 28 years old German international and formal Dortmund striker who became relived of his deal with Dortmund and enlisted in the market on a free transfer has been one of the most important player on the list with rumors on tons of offers from teams like AS Monaco, Arsenal, Inter Milan and Galatasaray amongst others have finally exist the Dortmund team to join PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer after signing a two years contract deal with the Netherland club.
Mario Gotze who seem to have been having a challenging time with Dortmund made 21 appearances, scoring only three goals which doesn't seem much like a good record to me for a striker of his caliber is in for another trying times as the Netherland team isn't in a very easy one to play in though, the PSV Eindhoven team seen to be doing very well.
Let's hope he adds positively to the team and make the games more entertaining and we hope to feature them in our bets.

I think this is a very good move for Gotze, after couple of injury ridden years; Gotze has struggled for confidence and form and this is why a move to the eredivisie fits well for him; lots of playing time, ajax beautiful football; and another chance to brighten up his career.

As regards Manchester United; no coach can succeed in mufc as long as woodward and co are still in charge; the club is only worried about shirt sales and profits; and that is the only reason why the first team gets abandoned whenever they qualify for champions league and need reinforcements. A long season ahead.
