I think Messi is the 2nd greatest player of all time and Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest. Legends like Pele and Maradona get overrated and they would never be able to compete at the level of athletes today with how physically fit they are.

I am surprised that Lyon let him go for a fee of just over $20 million. He is valued at almost $70 million on transfermarkt. A really good acquisition by Betis.

sometimes I think who will be the replacement for Ronaldo & messi when they both retire, I think there will be 2 players made by the media to become rivals so that football coverage is always crowded.

So we can conclude actually that these two players are indeed the best players of all time. These two players have different abilities and disadvantages. For individuals, maybe Messi is the greatest and for a duel in the air, perhaps Ronaldo is the greatest. So, we have to admit that these two players are really great.

Ronaldo is stronger & better in the air, he’s possibly a better finisher but Messi is the better all round footballer. It depends what you want. They've both been truly amazing players.

Maybe it can be said yes. But Ronaldo and Messi are certainly very different if they are said to be the greatest players of all time. Because Messi is just great on the Barcelona team. While Ronaldo has played in several leagues, that is what distinguishes Ronaldo and Messi if they are said to be the greatest of all time.

In my opinion, Ronaldo is the greatest player.
Considering how they did in their national teams, Messi haven't won any trophy with Argentina, while Ronaldo has won Euro and Portugal is competitive in every tournament.
I have a feeling that Ronaldo is going to retire in a later age after getting transferred to a club in China.

They’re both fantastic players, we won’t see anybody else like them for a long time. There’s no right or wrong answer on who is the best, they both have different qualities & strengths.

Zidane & Ronaldinho were amazing too but different. Maradona & Pele etc.

They're among the GOAT. And no, Messi is not overrated, anyone saying that clearly doesn't understand anything about this sport and should probably consider watching Golf or Cricket rather than Football.

He is already super rich, I don't think money will be the motivating factor at this point. China is not a respected league and they don't participate in the Champions League. He is a competitor they wants to stay in one of the top leagues and win titles that are actually respected.

^ I heard that too. I wonder what Zidane's plans are if he does go. They already got Hazard. And both Neymar and him usually prefer to start at the left wing.

If either Pogba or him do go, I'd start to feel a bit more happy with my Real to win the CL bet at 8.00ish.
