Spending lot of money?
I think in preparation for this season PSG is not spending more money to strengthen the team and this is different from the last few seasons which could make PSG very strong and able to compete competitively in all several leagues.
For this season having too big ambitions for the UCL title will only be in vain and impossible to achieve because they are in imperfect condition or cannot compete well.
If it just an ambition to get the League 1 title it can still be considered reasonable but this is the UCL we can even see that PSG in League 1 is not very satisfactory especially in the UCL and from here you can judge for yourself whether PSG is worthy of fighting for the UCL title.
Moreover currently PSG only relies too much on one player to win namely Mbappe and without Mbappe this season they are unlikely to survive for long.

However, I think some of the steps taken by PSG were wrong, last season they spent a lot of money buying several star players and targeting to win the UCL, but in fact they couldn't do much in the European competition.
And this season PSG is experiencing many problems, especially the drama of Mbappe not wanting to extend his contract anymore and since Luis Enrique took charge of the PSG team it has not made the team's performance better, quite the opposite.

It's not bad, but it's not good either. I think they are still lucky when they are in 6th place now, why? in my opinion they are in the current position because other clubs have performances that are not better than them. We are still at the beginning of the season and although PSG is further behind than its rivals, the difference in points is not much. Of course, they are not playing as well as if they were having an undefeated season and they lost a lot of points, but we cannot say that their opponents played great either. Paris Saint Germaine hasn't been consistent with their performance since the start of the season both in the French Ligue 1 and as well in the UEFA Champions League competition but that doesn't mean that they can't bounce back to winning ways again.
The club's manager Luis Enrique is in his first season with the French champions and is yet to find the perfect playing pattern that'll bring out the best from the squad and when he finally does, Paris Saint Germaine will be winning games consistently because they have the quality of players that can always win matches for them

As soon as a new manager takes charge of a new club he cannot change the performance of the club he must give time. Luis Enrique took charge of PSG in the new season and he is trying to improve the team's performance so far. To improve the performance of the team, the players must follow his best technique. If the players can adopt this manager's best technique then they will surely do well. With the new technique of the manager, I think PSG needs quality players. Of course the world of football will not be interesting if only one winner dominates, the match will be even more interesting if every season another club is able to win the title and the match will be competitive and exciting and it will be difficult for us to predict who will be the winner.
However, it looks like PSG still has a chance to win the title in League 1 because currently they are only 2 points behind Nice and Monaco so it won't be difficult for PSG to catch these points.

There is nothing interesting for them in Ligue 1 because it can be said that they will win the Ligue 1 trophy again at the end of this season. Because in Ligue 1 only PSG is the strongest and their challengers do not have the mental strength to break PSG dominance in Ligue 1.

Well you're right, PSG might be underperforming currently but with time they'll get back in form and dominate the league like they've been doing over the years, one thing I like the club is that, they could do bad in the Major tournaments like Ucl but when it comes to the Ligue 1 PSG would do their very best to make sure they retain their Ligue title, teams like Monaco, and Nice are doing very well recently but I doubt if they'll be able to end the supremacy of PSG.

Uhmm if you notice PSG's performance in the Champions League you could tell that they're not ready to win it yet ad there's nothing Mbappé would do to help them win,cause last season they got lots of world class players in the team like Messi and Neymar to help them win last season but couldn't deliver the Champions League to them.
